We've decided to retire
several dogs so that the kids can keep some favorites we've fallen for from
our current litters that we feel will enhance our bloodline.
We just want to see good
pet matches for each of these adoptable adults.

Sorry it has taken me so long to give you an update on Midnight
("Middie"). She is the sweetheart of our family and also the
favorite beagle at the vets office. She is so loving and such a
gentle dog.
She is healthy and loves to eat. She has put on few pounds,
but we are careful about the amount of food we give her. She loves
to walk with me each morning, but does not go very fast since she wants to
sniff everything. Her favorite place to sleep is on a GA beanbag!
She has one chair she likes so I got a cover for it. We have a
fenced in yard so she has plenty of space to play.
We are so happy that we came and got her to join our family. She is
a lot of company for us and a great companion dog.

Hi Christina & kids,
Sunny is coming along. She has mastered the stairs, she is doing
better about going onto the grass. She does her duty and then off she
goes. I am sure she will eventually get used to it. Sunny is still
getting used to the sleeping arrangements. She sleeps in our room at
night on a blanket and sheets. Once I finally get her down, she is
down for the night.
 
Everyone we have introduced Sunny to just loves here. They say she is
pretty and they love her coloring. She snuggles up to anyone.

Hi Ladies, Sunny is adjusting well. She has finally figured out
where her night time bed is and is no longer trying to get on to my
bed.
Sunny does this cute little dance for us when she knows she is getting
her food.
We are having a bathroom remodeled, we blocked off the hallway and the
dining room so she would not be in the contractors way. She climbed
over the baby gate, went upstairs to visit with him and then laid
outside the bathroom door the whole time he was there. She did stay
out of his way but had to be in the same area as him.
 
Sunny has found many different sleeping areas. We think during
the day she mostly stays in her crate or on the couch. We have 3 take
your pick. At night she likes to sleep on our dirty clothes. Kevin
saw here laying in the basket and told her to get off. I said leave
her there she likes them and she is not hurting them, so there she
sleeps. Photo attached.
Sunny has also found several Sunny spots for her to lay in. Under
our orange tree, on our deck, don't have a picture of that one. And on
the week ends when I am home around 2:00 in the afternoon the sun in
shinning in my bedroom at an angle. She stretches out to catch the

Truffles is a
chocolate mini she was adopted by the parents of a young lady who adopted
her puppy previously.

we love that she will get to be around her baby when Carly visits her
mom and brings her chocolate girlie Tessa.
Hi, my name is Pam Soda, my daughter, Carly,
purchased her dog, Tessa from you in August 2010.
I believe Truffles is Tessa’s (Carly’s beagle)
mother. We recently lost our beagle, Molly, she
lived a great life to age 16 years, 5 months. We
love Tessa, such a sweet dog. We also have a 7
year old mini poodle, Leo. I would like to know a
little more about Truffles, is she housebroken and
crate trained? Does she like long walks? We
live near a state park and walk several miles on
weekends.

Truffles is a very small lap dog! She has
an extremely Gentle personality. We still remember the day that she
came across a butterfly drying its wings in our backyard, and she
simply stuck her rump up in the air as if to say she wanted to play,
but didn't pounce on it or hurt it in any way!
 
Hi, Christina, just wanted to let you know Truffles is doing really
well. She rode quietly in the car, is eating well, is going
hurry up in our yard, and met her new friend Leo and reunited with her
daughter, Tessa. Everyone is getting along. She is so
sweet! I am sending some pictures-seems she has claimed a

"Hi, sent you some pics of our new girl. She's doing well, still
adjusting a bit, but seems happy and liking her new home. She goes
for a walk every day with her new friend, Leo! Likes to play with the
dog toys, every morning she takes them all out of the basket..... So
cute! Sleeps in bed, thankfully we have a kingsize!
Tessa, her daughter, is sleeping over on Saturday while Carly goes to
a wedding and on Sunday Truffles will visit Tessa's house.

"Lizzy" was adopted!
The family that adopted her were at a point in their
life where they werent able to keep her and she came home to us, anhd now
a few years later they just moved into a house with acreage and noticed
she was retiring and available and asked for her back and we gladly gave
her back no charge ! They were all happy to see eachother and she
definitely remembered them and will be sleeping in the daughter's bed
again like old times!

when she was a puppy! We love her! She loves us too! We have this
old recliner that she use to love to sleep in when she was a
puppy...and it is like she remembers it! She thinks it is hers!

Audrey here---she is absolutely precious and acts as if she has
always known us. The boys are overjoyed. Chase was astonished, he
had no idea, just thought we were getting a box for a friend from
the airport. It made last night's hell trip worthwhile, we didn't
have our fun camping night we hoped for, monsoon storm, leak in the
van, dead phone, woke to dead battery, not enough blankets for the
chilly wet night, all went wrong. But, today's treat and surprise
were so worth it. She is currently asleep with the 5 year old on his
bed, they are snuggled together. He goes to bed first and his and
the toddler's beds are really low, right off the floor, so I think
she has found her bed. What a doll. So sweet, so calm, so loving, so
perfect for us. I cannot believe she is as sweet as the face in the
picture that just wants to be loved and she is. The toddler kept
giggling and she would just sniff him and wag. She is fine with
going to the door and doing her hurry up, we gave her an area
untouched by chickens and goats. We'll show her the doggy door in
the morning. Watching her explore the house was funny, I'm not sure
she is used to full stairs. She slowly goes up and down, one at a
time, and stops at each step. They are wide, so she has room to rest
if she wants. She is just so sweet and what a beauty. She really
looks like Mathilda in her face and coloring, she's just shorter and
more squat but they could have been sisters. I got Mathilda from a
beagle breeder outside of
Gainesville, Florida,
maybe they are distantly related.
Anyway, thank you. I will send the money
for the extra kenneling today, just not right away, but as soon as I
have it. I knew they would take care of her since the time was long
at the airport, they told me that, they just failed to mention a
charge for it. It's well worth it as I know she was walked and had
water. She had water in her crate when I got her, too, and was just
relaxing and seemed very calm. She was hesitant to come out, but we
walked her and she sat in Chase's lap the whole way and fell asleep
after a little while. I'm blithering, sorry, but it's so nice to
have her. She's everything we wanted from our pup last year and just
had to wait a bit longer.
What a doll, we will love her to pieces,
she will be the queen of the castle here, spoiled and loved. "

Just last night Rich said, I haven't heard her make a peep, I wonder
what her voice sounds like. Well, this morning at 6, the toddler got
up and came in our room and little miss followed him. I took Jessie
out to go potty since it was technically morning and she didn't know
it was early. After we came back in, she went back to bed with the
boys but then she heard the rooster crowing and we finally heard her
bark. He would crow, she would bark, just a soft bark, but she was
protecting her family. I went and told her it was ok, just the
rooster, and she was fine once she saw I didn't mind the crowing.
She is doing very well. She has claimed
her favorite spot on the couch, she likes to sleep with the boys in
their beds and she takes turns with each boy. Our bed is way too
high so I lose out. I would love to have her in with us, but it's a
tall, tall bed and I just don't want her to risk the jump.
Anyway, she is great, we adore her.

Christi and Everyone at Sunshine,
Just wanted to let you know that Bonnet made the trip home
& has been getting use to her new surroundings. She
made a few rounds of the yard and came inside to take a
nap.
She said it was hard working
finding a new home & checking everything out.
She slept in the Sunroom as you can see from the photo.
Thanks so much for the blanket & toy. She went right
to her bed & stayed there on her blanket for a while.
She just had her dinner and ate
everything. Right now, she is out for a walk with her
Dad.
She is not fond of the leash,
but if we leave it slack for her – she is less
intimidated. I think she will learn what it’s for
after a few walks.

to adopt her. She is going to fit right in and has
already stolen our hearts :D

Hello Sunshine Acres,
I have been looking at your website, page by page for a couple
of weeks now, I happened upon your adult dogs today and would be
interested in learning more.
I would prefer a mini or a nano-mini adult. I have hip and
lower back issues and need to be able to carry my new baby if
needed. Color doesn't really concern me and neither does
gender.
I am single, 60 year old nurse working in a business office
enviornment. I have 10 grandchildren that I am around
frequently and consider my pet part of the family who would
spend time with not just me and Stella (my 9 year old cat). but
the family, as well, on the weekends and vacations. Stella runs
the house as she pleases, is very laid back, she likes to
snuggle for short times then is off to do her own thing. She
sleeps in bed with me (when she is so inclined) and Iwould plan
that our new addition would do the same. Two short walks is
what I could do right now, but play time in the house for
exercise is mandatory when mom gets home from work. It's a
great stress reliever for all ! There is a hotel in Ocean City,
MD that I frequent year round and they do accept small pets and
would want my little one to be able to go with me and frequent
the beach for some playing with the waves on the shore or just
hanging out reading on a cool fall day on the beach. I had a
puggle in the past but the beagle part of him could not resist
doing whatever it took to get off the leash and chase whatever
little animals he saw. Otherwise, he was the perfect buddy, so
I was able to rehome him with a good friend and I see him
regularly.
I have a small yard (thus I would prefer a laid back friend, who
is happy to go out do his buiness and come back in to be with
Stella and me. I also have a covered porch and would consider
potty training to a "potty patch"
I am retiring in 2 years and would look forward to growing old
with a new member of my family. I have no time frame and would
probably drive down if we were able to work something out.
If you would consider me, I would be honored to adopt a retired
dog. We would be in the same stage of life and could enjoy our
golden years takiing long rides, cuddlying, visiting the ocean
and spending time with family.

" I was finally able to meet Shelly at about
1 am.
She was, of course, a bit timid and not sure of herself at
all. When we got home and I was able to hold her and walk
her for a bit, her tail started wagging and all has been
well since. She is sleeping in my room in her crate for
security. After Stella introduced herself and walked away
uncareingly Shelly and I snuggled up on the couch to wind
down. I massaged her shoulders, we watched TV and soon she
was snoring !!

are going to be the best of friends.

so his mom was looking to find a good Pal to
enjoy too ! We thought friendly little dee dee would make a nice
companion for her to enjoy.

to raise and did a wonderful job with them for us before we retired her

Dear Christina,
Thank you so much for guiding us
toward Tootsie. She truly is a wonderful fit for our family. She met
Dottie who stood her ground and stared her down to which Tootsie lay down
and belly crawled to her. This seemed to satisfy Dottie as they have
gotten along famously ever since. (Dottie ignores her and she follows
Dottie around.) She is interested and quiet and curious about everything
but very sensitive to praise and our tone of voice. Our cat June has been
cautious around her but Tootsie has been interested and friendly toward
her until the cat jumped on the bed and then she howled at her on the bed.
We just laughed as the cat was supremely unconcerned. She has had no
accidents in the house and as far as we can tell wouldn't think of doing
that as she does her business behind a big Magnolia tree. (actually, while
behind the tree, she met a horse for the first time...she howled at him
too which was very cute and came running back to me as if to say, "do you
know what's back there?!")
The children hadn't been 30
minutes down the road when they starting saying ah, isn't she so little
and cute and sweet....the further we got from the puppies, the smaller and
cuter she got!:) Actually, I even had to laugh the next morning bc
standing side by side waiting for breakfast, our Jack Russell is actually
larger and broader than Tootsie! Part of the reason Don and I wanted
another dog is that our children were growing up with very few positive
interactions with a dog of their own as our terrier is old and only loves
Don. (the rest of us she ignores) Tootsie is a refreshing treat bc she
loves and interacts with everyone but doesn't overwhelm anyone with a
dominant personality. We are all enjoying her very much. She is very
submissive and very cautious about anything new but once exposed is
smart and remembers for next time. She watches everyone and everything
very attentively which I love.
We enjoyed our drive up to your
house and meeting some of the dogs and puppies but are very glad we
brought home Tootsie. Has Pepper found a home yet? We really liked him as
well. We will definately keep in touch for the future and will keep
enjoying your website in the meantime.

russell who did not like their previous Hunting bred beagle male with a

home with a baby.. thats ok of course, but when we retire a great doggie
like tootsie and know she would fit the preferences so perfectly we love
it when we can help make that match happen and everyone is happy in the

South are, Her dad and his bloodline started our beagle lines from
the Seattle Washington area we began with. She has nice longer legs
so she will keep up with your walks if someone wants to go out for
exercise ... I heard the other day single people like adult trained pets
they can adopt since they can go walk and meet other folks outdoors right
away ! It gives them an excuse for venturing outside and they become more
fit and find a friend or two this way so its a win win situation the dog
likes it too !

Abbey and I were both tired by the time we got home so in most of the
first pictures she is lying down, but I got some more active ones today.
It is hard to get three dogs to be still at the same time.
Out side of getting slightly lost two times leaving your house (I should
have done a reverse instructions) we had a quiet trip home. As soon as
Abbey found the dog door, she was out and checking out the back yard. She
is getting along with her new dog family and they seem to approve of her.
Everyone is eating together with out problems and Abbey has learned which
bowl is hers. I think she is going to be a perfect fit with us.
I have eight pictures I thought you would like. I’m send four with this
e-mail and will send the rest in another. They seem to do better that
way.
I enjoyed getting to know you. If you are ever passing through this way,
let me know and stop in to see how Abbey is doing. She is missing her
original family.

have written us asking to become preapproved and sending the details
upfront we look for to do it !
those diligent folks who did
their homework and now ask to be prospective parents of one of our babies
will hear back that day! )

she hangs out on our deck, and out loose in the front
yard at times...or is invisible fence trained so she could easily be
taught a new boundary in someones yard to stay in..
she loves toys more than any of our doggies !! very
playful and sweet she would be a great family pet .

she can be let loose in our big yard without wandering off to the wooded
acreage all around us .

she is a nice dog who has had some great litters for us ... we like to see
our moms retire into wonderful pet homes that appropriately fit them ...
each is different, and so are the homes being offered for an adult
dog, so we consider all the details and try to match them to
the best fit for that beagle. she also loved rawhides like daisy
does....
they could entertain themselves on end with a rawhide or chew toy...
much more than say Grace... who never chews them... ? ( true of some
khaki's ) Grace does adore Greenies though... and freeze dried chicken and
meat snacks that are good for you...LOL .. well all she cares about is the
"Chicken" ... in them... dogs can be as different as people
are , some are playful and higher energy level , others are able to run
out and go hurry up and come right back inside .. the more we know about
the home you have for a beagle the better we can work on finding a great
companion to enjoy who can fit in well.
