We continue to devote the majority of our time to raising our babies here in our home and creating lasting relationships with sincere adoptees of our sunshine acres beagle family members! As a small family, we take our time to  handraise each and every one of our puppies here at home. We want adoptive homes to learn about our family before moving forward, because we feel that makes a better long term relationship with our baby's forever homes.

*Remember that your new puppy will start out in a confined area as they slowly learn about your home through your lead. Their safe-base can be the bathtub, kitchen or laundry room floor etc, with paper on one side and bedding on the other for whenever you're are not right there supervising him or her as they adapt to their new household there with you. Boundaries are good for puppies, so that that as an intelligent student, they can respect your leadership, learn, and gradually earn their household privleges. Through this process they will be able to enjoy more freedoms when they grow up!

These older puppies have already had all their shots in the series of 4 completed,
a plus for new parenting without needing booster shot vet visits!

Occasionally we get requests from people for slightly older puppies, because they are ready to get started with having a buddy who is past the infant-like stage. Sometimes folks' free time is limited due to careers and they want one old enough to start crate training and  who is ready to learn and form a working routine in their forever household, or they simply want a good friend who can keep up around their home and yard!

 For that reason, we know there is a perfect person or family situation for each of our babies, and we are willing to wait and enjoy them here with our family until just the right matching home speaks up and tells us they are ready for a favorite pup!

Crate training is a great idea for everyone, whether you plan to use one in the future or not. Getting your pet comfortable with his or her own crate there in your home ahead of time helps give them a good option in the future when you need to go out, have someone new over, or need to travel.

You can start crate training after your pup can start being expected to hold their bladder through the night. After around 14 - 15 weeks or so like these older puppies they can usually start, and you can plan to get up early the next morning those first few days to let them go out while they learn your schedule and form working lifelong routines in your home.

Its good and very helpful to start out in a designated area to put an open crate in at first with the option of paper outside of the crate in case you aren't able to take them out when they need to go- this can help your adjusting puppy learn to gradually sleep in their own crate, but still use the paper if needed. When the paper is dry a few mornings in a row, then you know your puppy can hold his or her bladder through the night and can begin closing the door.

 Housebreaking in your home
 When introducing your new canine to your home its best to be as diligent as possible the first day or so to avoid accidents all together, and set good expectations for the years to come in your home. Do not let your newcomer have free unsupervised roam of your home- its your home, they have not learned about it yet so its up to you to show them so that they can be responsible and it can become their home too. Take them outside often to start that as the routine for your pack- they need to know what your pack expects. Your new pup will be attentive to your guidance on how to fit in in your home, so communicate what you want them to learn now, and they can feel more comfortable taking the appropriate role in your pack!

"Dove" Chocolate Mini Female has been adopted! "Lucas" Tricolor Male went to his new parents! "Mickey" aka "Shiloh" Tricolor Male went home with his birthday boy!
