the above boy at the top of the picture found his forever home in Olin NC. with the Abernethy's who told us they have relatives in Monroe who live at the Lake and can visit them when he needs to come sire a litter in the future. that was just perfect and we let them claim him . Our sincere thanks to the many folks that have asked about him from out of state but this was just what we hoped to find for this special future sire.
Essential worker for Lowes Corp. , Lisa and her family came to meet Tucker and take him to join their family!
repeat customers the Marx family from Charlotte are adding the open marked runtsized girl to their family. they already have an older sunshine beagle . Their daughter grew up with so when she started her own family she got one then, the next year another ..
this was such a friendly happy litter of babies we hope to continue this line of tri color beagle puppies in NC.
Miss C. had grown attached to him and was only considering local homes that will allow him to visit to sire a litter and not have to bring him from out of state since there is a short window of opportunity to breed on the right days. We so appreciate all the wonderful homes out there for him, who asked to adopt him...
but we held onto him till the right situation came along close to us, and it did we found his match !!

he had just a dash of white on his head. as he grows his head will turn lighter and the black will fade away.
the last puppy by cindy to go home was her smallest boy.
all of our ready to go home pups have...gone home
years ago the kids and i would fall for the runt of a litter and keep them to help reduce the adult size of our beagles once Miss C. was in an accident and her back was injured it was so much easier to lift and carry a smaller size dog than a standard which can get up to 50lbs and be 15 inches tall to the top of the shoulder.
above a tri colored standard size male who weighs
49lbs. next to our adult mini "Gracious"who was the runt of her litter. |
she has a much smaller head, shorter legs and weighs 16lbs.

in over 30 years of breeding we havent seen any issues with the smaller pups because unlike many breeders we are right there taking care to see that each puppy is cleaned by mom every couple hours around the clock till they have their eyes open and can get around and see where she is. We also make sure the tiniest pups
can nurse and dont have larger littermates push them off and take over that spigot . we knew that without a good supply of colostrum during the first crucial days they might have health issues later in life having not had the immunities moma milk provides.
we used to have one price for all sizes and colors etc. then over time other breeders began talk that the smallest newbies were more labor intensive and took more effort on their part. prices began going up on the tiniest since they often came from small moms who only had a few in their litters therefore they cost more to raise "mini beagles" or " pocket beagles", as some call them. Then we had 15 inch"standards" and 13inch "runtsize" , before long our breeding program produced even smaller sized beagles and we decided to call them 12inch and under "Mini" beagles .

we had only 2 girls in this litter, Madison with the blaze lives on Hilton Head with her retired owners who were returning customers.
the solid head girl is larger than the open marked girlie she was adopted and named Sadie Mae.
one female has a solid head that will later turn red .
Sadie Mae has sort of an arrow shape that goes up her neck
(she is the puppy by her mom's leg )

we retired Cindy after her second litter for us to be a housepet with her already retired sister Princess who had one small litter and found a great home .
Sibbling sister's reunited when Princess' owners
drove back down to adopt her sister Cindy,
(in the black halter )
when her 2nd litter found homes.

we love getting updates on the girls in their new home... it makes us so happy they were able to stick together :)
Sadie Mae's mom Cindy shows how red their heads can turn over time, most tri colored beagles start out black and white more or less, and loose the dark fur on their heads becoming 3 colors. black/red/and white.
in Jan. we heard from Deana that she was interested in adding a sunshine beagle puppy . She told us it would be for her son Matthew and his future wife. She patiently awaited hearing what repeat customers were doing and claimed this doll when it was her turn . we hoped to keep one of the girls for ourselves to breed this bloodline in the future but having only 2 females, out of 7 pups we decided to see if we could ask her to allow us to bring her pup back to have a litter , they decided to have free boarding when they went to Myrtle Beach last May and let her come home to us in July before her little ones arrived.
she is all grown now and had her 2nd Heat
so we got to breed her and she came back to deliver her litter and raise them here last year

check out the upcoming litter page to see more of her personality and gentle nature :)
Sadie Mae had her litter last year for us here, they got to board her for a few weeks with us while they went to the Beach in their RV. for letting her come back . we kept the right to breed 2 of her tri colored girls and 2 of her tri colored boys so we can keep this bloodline going here in NC. watch for them to have puppies next fall
saying good luck to their girlie when they droped her off ...
we spoiled Sadie Mae with chicken meat and lots of healthy add-ins as she settled in to deliver here.
she napped alot and we kept an eye on her with our pet cam till the time came to have her babies and she did
great just like her pretty mom "Cindy" had done before we retired her.
