Autumn's Litter

3 khaki small standard boys  ( narrow blazed boy is claimed )

1 lighter khaki runtsized male

1 khaki small standard female ( claimed )

 Introducing  Autumn

Orange female Autumn was the runt of her litter by momma Brandy!

here we are measuring her to the top of the shoulders which is level with the book...  she's just a foot high. Above she stands in front of the door where larger standard Tri mom ( now retired) Daisy stands on the other side he is much smaller and often has very less shedding fur puppies depending on sires and whether the pups take after mom or dad :)

"Harper" runtsized Lighter Khaki Boy with a short narrow blaze is claimed now !

His new mom sent us her home and family info and got in line for two khaki pups in the future , not knowing how long she would still have with her friend

"Fletcher" her current beagle boy.  While up at her moms in Ohio she and mom fell for little harper and she asked if we could let her apply her deposit to hold her

spot in the claiming process for a future pair of pups from us to claim the boy she was smitten with !  We had had some really great families asking for him , and

were having a time deciding , but once she let us know he was going to keep her company now and help her over the loss of her boy we knew thats where

he needed to go .

Harper is a loving boy! He is a lighter khaki like Autumn's previous puppy seen further below in momma Autumn's previous pups section.

We've already done all 4 shots in his puppy booster series.

Harper as a newborn and growing up..

He loves toys :)

he is wonderful snuggle buddy who adores people and hanging out .

Harper hangs out with Christi in the living room as she works at the computer this saturday evening.

He is curious about what she's typing on that keyboard!

Harper has a shiney khaki coat that is less shedding and a warmer shade of khaki.

sweet Harper gives Christi a kiss, he is such a loving friend!

Harper is such a good lapdog!

Harper LOVES his toy!

New pictures, he just turned 13 weeks  Cinco De Mayo!

"Hi Miss C,

Quick note.  Harper slept after only a few minutes of crying in the car.  He was playful and happy when we arrived at the hotel.  I found a way to gate him in the hotel kitchen and he went to sleep without crying.  Any time he stated to chew the carpet or collar I told him no and he listened like the perfect boy he his.  He had no accidents last night!  He loves is toys."

just like we said he does! :)

Harper comfy on Melissa's lap!

" So far he is doing great.  Very loving, playful, and adorable.  I sent out videos and pics to all his new family and friends last night and everyone is looking forward to meeting him in person once we are settled and he is adjusted.  Thank you so much!!!!!  I always told Fletcher that God him just for me.  I think Harper is another blessing straight from heaven as well.  I will send you some pics and videos when I get home and situated.  Have a blessed day!

Melissa "

Khaki Male with a narrow blaze is claimed now by waiting list family the McMahon's

from Hagerstown MD.

Hello,
I have stumbled across your website while looking up information regarding beagles.  I fell in love instantly and I admire the way you and your family are raising your "babies".  Let me introduce my family.  My husband- Ryan and I - Michelle, have been married for over 10 years and live in Hagerstown, Md -farming community (about an hour from Baltimore and Wash. D.C.).  We have 3 beautiful children, Rowyn, she will be 6 in February, Stephen who will be 4 in February, and our final addition is Tristan, who will be 2 in August.
Ryan grew up with Whippets and Boxers, but I want a smaller dog.  I also have some allergies and was very happy when I saw that you have a few "hypo-allergenic" puppies with less shedding.  We are not picky on the gender or the markings, I feel that everyone is unique and all have a special personality that you come to love and adore.  We would like a standard size (eventually when the children are much older I would love a nano :) and love the khaki/white as well as the tri-colored.  My husband especially likes the blue eyes, but we understand that those change (unlike all of our blue eyed babies :).    As far as personality, we just want a sweet, easy going, loving, good with children, and one that loves to snuggle! :)
We love the suggestion of the bath for when they are little, and that is exactly what we plan to do till he or she is old enough and then we will move her to an area in the kitchen that will be his/hers.  We will set up a crate/living space with a bed and with paper (once again love the suggestion) and we will block off an area for her/him.  eventually she/he will have a comfy bed on the floor in our bedroom.  I am grateful for all the pointers and suggestions on your website.  We are very excited and hope to get pre approved and placed onto the waiting list.  We look forward to hearing from you and your family...

Thank you again for your time and consideration

We love learning about the home and family for one of our babies and being able to approve them for adoption !  Of course we dont claim our puppies are quote "Hypo allergenic dogs" only that some of our bloodlines have fur and dander that tends not to come out as much as most traditional beagle coats that were designed to be longer and course and come out or break off when a rabbit dog was tracking down a prey in the brambles so he didnt get caught up in them !  Since our doggies are selectively chosen for breeding from non hunting stock ancestors and we have spent years keeping the best fur for indoor companions our customers who have had other beagle lines often tell us they arent alergic to certain lines of our sunshine beagles so weve gotten the reputation as the breeder for housepet variety beagles and thats what we strive for :) !

Khaki Girl is claimed now by a single fellow on our waitinglist for a khaki girl !

Hello, My name is Mike , and am interested in one of your beautiful puppies but first off…a little about me.

I live in Hollywood, FL. I am single (divorced) and am looking for a companion beagle to share and enjoy time with. I am a police officer and am set to retire in 34 months. I lead an active lifestyle which will be more fulfilling with the addition of a loved pet.  As such I would like to find the perfect puppy so that when I retire we can enjoy adventures together. I live in a 2 Bedroom apt on a golf course. I do not have a fenced yard but I have more than ample space and time to spend.  I am fortunate to work the area I live so even work hours would not be much of an interruption as I can be home at any time and will be free to walk/play with my puppy as needed…or more so.. desired. Additionally, I have several great friends that have keys to my apt and would be able to take care of any unexpected occurrences or needs. My friends will also be great in the fact that they all have pets which will make great playmates.

Now as for my thoughts on a puppy…at first I was set wanting a standard lemon female right up until I saw one of your pictures of a blue eyed khaki puppy…wow…so now I would say first choice would be a Khaki female followed by a lemon female. Now the hard part...waiting for your input and the perfect puppy and to see where we go from here. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the pros and cons of driving to pick up my puppy vs having the puppy flown in to my location as I am open to whichever you feel is best. I am ready whenever you are and I will continue to read more as I am certain I missed some on your pages.
Thank  you for your consideration...looking forward to hearing from you .  Mike

being already approved as a good home for one of our puppies and having sent in his deposit to join our waiting list,
he was given a chance to claim or pass on this cute khaki girl
before anyone new coming along asking for her ...
waiting list doesnt mean you have to wait ... it is simply giving you first dibs on a matching puppy when it arrives !

Puppy Pictures from Autumn's Previous babies:

  '  Peaches  '

we loved her looks personality and less shed fur , so we kept this cutie to enhance and upgrade our breeding for indoor housepets !

Orange runtsize Peaches on our back deck with khaki mini Grace, nano Happy, and Grace's daughter Hope.

She has been claimed by waiting list members the Clauss family  who joined a while back for a small chocolate female between Thanksgiving and Christmas time!   they told us that one son has alergies so a less shed coat was a preference for their family !

Emily gets her new toy, and shares with her littermates for one last snuggle, then take their scent back home with her to her new forever home with the Clauss family!

they brought some toys to put in with the littermates to play with and get their scent on ... the pups loved her things and had a good time with them before she headed off to her new home... and the brothers even wished her well and gave little sis a big Good Bye Kiss !

Wren went to return customer Sarah from California who already has a tricolor sunshine mini Maddie~

Thanks again for ALL you did getting my new darling here, and THANKS SO MUCH for the months of work you put into him before he got here, it has made this whole process do-able for me!! I can't wait to learn more about Wren and how our little family works -- these guys are what make grad school and being 2500 miles from home worthwhile!!!

Quick update: Maddie and Wren are establishing boundaries and figuring each other out, looking good! When they're on walks (in neutral territory), Maddie is being a very good leader and going hurry up to show him and is always looking back at him to make sure he's coming along.

Wren on the right meets a doggy at the park

We get SO many comments about his color and how beautiful he is, when we're at the park and the dogs separate, sometimes I look to find Maddie and she's off running around and chasing dogs, then I look over and Wren is being smooched on by someone or being picked up (when he was smaller), and wherever we go we're followed by "awwww"s - both for Wren and Maddie! I must have the cutest and sweetest dogs on the planet. ;) I also get comments on their small size and how they're trim for beagles (although Maddie put on a couple of winter pounds with the rain, park time will help her trim up so she doesn't strain her joints/petite little legs!) and how sweet they are. It was too funny, there was another beagle at the park yesterday (you really don't see too many out here!) and Wren walked in and spotted her immediately and ran over like "Oh, my family!!"

Hi everyone at Sunshine Acres!

Today is my little beagle boy's first birthday, so I thought I'd send along a short update! I've attached some pictures of Wren (formerly DJ) and his big, but smaller, sister Maddie. I've had Wren for about 7 months now, and he and Maddie are still getting along great! He was definitely the right choice for our house - he and Maddie play well, he doesn't cause tooo much mischief, and he's such a lover boy that he'll still come try to sleep on top of me. One of his greatest qualities, which I've never had in a dog (much less a beagle!) is that he COMES when he's called! All I have to do is even whistle from another room and he'll come running in. Maddie has a little too much attitude for that ;) but of course if she knows I have a treat, she'll come running from the other end of the park... true beagle! Maddie still gets a little jealous of Wren, if he's getting attention or has a toy, etc., but hopefully she'll get a little better in time.

The dogs love to play with each other, ALL the time, they wear each other out pretty well. Their favorite activity between playing is lying in their windowseat and watching people outside. Wren sometimes gives a warning howl if he thinks something is off, but he's good at not being excessive. Maddie usually wags her tail when she sees people outside, she just has to say hi to everyone and be the center of attention!

Wren is a runt size and Maddie is a mini, which is hard to see in the pictures, but he's definitely taller and longer than she is, so his big sis won't be picking on him for long! He's finally growing into his body and figuring out how to control his movements, he still lumbers around the dog park a little bit but he's getting fast. He loves playing with the BIG dogs and trying to keep up with them. So much entertainment for me after a stressful day in grad school, who needs cable?

I'll send another update with more CA things later, we're hoping to camp on the beach soon and I'll send along a beach picture when we get to. Thanks again for your great beagles, and especially for raising Wren so well those first 5 months and helping me choose him!

Sarah, Maddie, & Wren

whaz up??

good boy Buster sitting patiently in his bed and always paying attention!

Christi and Jake met pastor Martin and his family up in Mooresville, and after learning more about their church at their home, Jake & Christi decided to donate the drum set to their in-home church. Martin and family also learned about what we do, raising family oriented beagle puppies, and decided to make a trip to come down and pick up the drums and meet the pups!

They fell in love with beautiful Buster, and claimed him with their deposit, went back home to get ready, and that following week Christi and Jake drove Buster up to Mooresville to join his new home!

Buster spent the night at Jake's mom and step dad's house in Mooresville, and hung out the next morning with Christi & Jake!

Christi and Jake spend time with Buster before taking him to his new home!

Once the Jensens got home that afternoon, Christi & Jake came over to introduce him to his new home and join his family!

Buster sits with the kids for pictures!

Buster checks out his new home, then follows his new friend over to watch her play in the children's area!
