    .....................................................

    Good morning Christine,
We've been meaning to write for such a long time. Unfortunately we never seemed to get around to it.

To refresh your memory, we picked up Tucker from you in July of '09. Tucker was born to Darla and he was part of her first litter.

What a companion. He's very quickly stolen our hearts. When we picked up Tucker we had recently had to put our previous dog Bo down. At the time, it was hard for us to believe that we would ever find room in our hearts for another pet. I'm so pleased to tell you that Tucker is the most loving, laid back pet that we've ever had. He has one requirement - Love. He gives back the love in spades!!!

He's such a social pet. He loves nothing more than a vigorous play session and once tired out looks for the nearest lap to cuddle up on. He's been such a joy in our lives.

We just wanted you to know how much we truly love having him as part of our family. Everything you advertise about your puppies, we've found to be true. The love and care that you provide them while their still in your hands shines through as they grow and develop in the new owners homes as our constant companions.

Thanks for all your efforts. We remain raving fans.

We've included a couple pictures of Tucker for your archives.

    jasperincrate

He gets to sleep in his own crate and bed with his stuffed toy to comfort him while his parents travel  at his first home Sunshine Acres , lots of our customers tell us this helped in their decision to seek adoption of a beagle puppy from a family who loves them and watches them like they were at home again rather than having them stay in a new place like the vets kennel where they dont know any one or sleep in their own bed.

    jaspers gifts

( they brought yummie treats to share with the kids and Miss C. for taking good care of their boy while they spent time with family.) We really appreciate folks for all their kindness to the kids and I with thoughtful things like this that show they care about what we do here for their baby , how much they appreciate our hard work , and that we are like a big family too !

    ..................................................

    Hi Miss C,

Just wanted to let you know that Graham is doing great!  He's adjusting just fine.  He did very good last night and hasn't had any accidents.  He goes to the back door when he needs to go out.  He is also eating very well.

I wanted to thank you for sending us a puppy who is very beautiful, sweet, friendly, gentle but also very playful.  When he's done playing he loves to get up on the sofa and just lay up against you...

he can be very calm.  We are already attached to him.  When we picked him up at the airport the person in the cargo building talked about how beautiful he was.  He said they had several puppies that went through the airport yesterday and Graham was the one with the best personality.

I'll send another update and pictures as soon as I can.

thats just what we hope to hear when one of our darlins go to a new adoptive family !!!!

    Sunday:

We were Santa's helpers today! Santa gave a letter to two little girls on the Polar Express last night, telling them he had a special workshop in Monroe NC called Sunshine Acres. When they got here for their surprise, they were so happy about their new puppy, exactly what they had asked Santa for, saying they were so glad they could keep him, and that it feels like a dream. Merry Early Christmas! :)

Ray family meet santas puppy at sunshine acres

Thank you so much for coming to see me at the North Pole on the Polar Express.  I love seeing all the boys and girls at Christmastime.  I have a special workshop in Monroe, NC called Sunshine Acres, and the head elf, Miss Christina, will have a special gift for your family.  Make sure you are on your best behavior when you get there and listen to the rules the elves tell you.

Remember to always be good, listen to your parents, and love each other.
I can’t wait to visit your house on Christmas Eve, so be in bed early.

Ray family meet santas puppy at sunshine acres

    Saturday:

It was an Exciting Day here at Sunshine Acres !!

A family who knows a friend with a Sunshine Beagle came to meet available puppies and choose one to join their family !

    Lacys lady

Lacy's Lemon boy "Laddy"  got to go home with them, after having had tri colored beagles in the past the last one living to be 15 years old , this time they picked out a light buff / Lemon beagle to  be a companion to their rescue dog who paced , around their big yard looking for their dog, and missed having their beagle now that he is gone.  They thought having a new youngster would make not only their daughters happy this Christmas but their rescued dog wouldnt be lonely now too !!

    Theo

"Theo" was also adopted by a family from Blacksburg who drove down to meet our available babies and see who Dad wanted for his christmas gift to himself !!!  He  loved the khaki color and tiny size and off they went with their new house dog.  they have two big labs that are outside and wanted a indoor companion to enjoy this winter that would be happy and content inside with the gang !

our rehoming beagles got to meet a potential adoptive family from Asheville who had come to meet several dogs at shelters , and had one last place near us to check out.  They told us they would be in touch when they had a chance to finish their search and think through the choices .   Both Bo and Daisy enjoyed meeting their kids and were very friendly and happy to see kids again !!

( see them on our retire/rescue/rehome pages ahead .)

Bo was later chosen by the family who came back to take him home to enjoy!

they said of all the dogs they met he was the nicest !

folks with Boys often tend to choose boy dogs since they love being more active and playing fetch and fun stuff boys enjoy !!

Daisy found a home with an elderly man who needed a friend to keep him from being lonely too

    ....................................................................................................

    Friday:

We are excited that today Christi comes back to help us prepare for a big weekend of meeting with folks !

    Santa and Sunshine Beagles
    ( National AKC Agility CHAMPION,
Sunshine Acres "Blade" and his little sister Raven .)

As many of you know  we have lots on our "plates" right now and hopefully on Christmas too, since we are substitute Elves here

working hard with Santa to fill his many requests from Good little children out there wanting a Beagle Puppy for Christmas !!!

As you can imagine its much too cold in the North Pole for him to raise baby beagles this time of year so for over 20 years our home has been a little santa workshop this time of year helping him find perfect puppies for those who most deserve one . We help him and in return sometimes the kids and I get a coke and a plate of homemade cookies bonus from a generous family who appreciates us stepping in to fill his orders :) !!christmas puppy

Lacy's Lemon/ Buff colored boys are available and have some newer pictures now on her section in younger litters !

    Lacy's buff boys

Miss christina wants to send out a big Thank YOU to

everyone who sent well wishes and prayed for our family

    during our recent difficult times.

While down in fla after delivering two sunshine

beagle pups to their new owners Miss C's Dad

whom she was also visiting for her Birthday

found out he was diagnosed with Cancer.

It was such a blessing that she was already there since

the doctors wanted him to come check into

the Hospital immediately for treatments.  After

having a fall her mom was recovering from and

learning to walk again , miss C. was able to

be there to drive her folks around to  Dr. appointments

and shopping and so on .

The kids pitched in and took care

of things here at sunshine acres

with Jakes help and a fellow who had kennel

help experience they hired to help out

so they could still attend their college classes and

keep things going in Miss Christina's absence

for the past couple months !

    shopping in Naples fla

( Cody and Miss C. get in some Christmas shopping in Naples fla. )

Son Cody drove down to pick her upBad Asss Coffee

go to some events in Ft. Myers fla like the Worlds Sand scuplting championship on the Beach !!

    sandcastles

    and spend

    thanksgiving with his grandparents

and they got home after midnight Sat. night !

    ..............................................................

thanks also to those of you on the Christmas waiting list

for your patience ,now that miss c is home again we plan

to do some updates on the website and

get the ball rolling on the families in line for xmas timeframes

     making their choices soon !

    lizzys kids

(Lizzys freckled kiddos ) her standard Tri boy is still available

If your family is in our line with a deposit down

please check in with us and let us

know all your favorites it helps us to match up babies

as it becomes your turn to

choose when we have some idea of who your family

is drawn to !! Also if you have become a fan of a

different color or size or gender and want to add

those options to your preferences we love hearing about it !!

Please just email and tell us the date(s) youd like to bring a

puppy home , and any favorites you have that would match up !!

We will begin announcing who is up to pick a pup soon so

keep watching for your name for your family's preferences in the

     Its your Turn section !!

    christmas beagles

Some lines are shorter than others and will be easy for the person

with that preference to make their choice . For example the lines are longer

for tri colored males, and females,

especially standard sized , so anyone looking to add a chocolate

or other rare color option to consider pups that match other preferences

like size or gender will have a puppy offered to them matching

their request sooner since some of those lines are shorter and

we have  more than enough to go to the few in those lines.

"Hi Miss Christina, Christi, Cody and Jake!
Just wanted you all to know that BEBOP WON one of the 13 slots (out of 120 pets) for "Most Adorable Pet in the Triangle" calendar!!!!!!!!!!! She will be the featured pet for one of the months (not sure which one yet) for the 2012 calendar that will be coming out next month. All the proceeds from the contest and the sale of the calendar will go to help pets in need. WE ARE SO EXCITED and now have another nickname for our darling puppy - "Calendar Girl" :)
She had her first trip to the beach last weekend and she LOVED being a beach beagle. She is already 12 pounds and just finished all her puppy shots. We'll be getting her spayed and microchipped in December.
Can't ever thank you enough for allowing us to adopt THE BEST PUPPY EVER!!!!!!!!! You all will always hold a special place in our hearts!
I will mail you a calendar as soon as they are available.
    Happy Fall Y'all!!!!!!

United was suggested to us by our friends at Continental who said the companies are merging to serve more areas we were happy to hear that since it saved a five hour drive for Mrs. Gamblin and a friend today to the Detroit Airport were she had booked him to arrive ! So far so great on this end according to Couriers Jake and Christi who said all went super smooth since they are in the same office at the Charlotte Airport where the couriers are used to going !

Waiting list folks the Rogers came from Tenn. to meet the baby girls and see who stole their heart...

several did  it was  hard choice...but in the end they picked little doll baby sophie by Darla the silver runt of her litter.

    Sophie silver beagle puppy

Christina and Kids, Sarah has made it home to Chattanooga! Of course she has won the hearts of all who meet her.  She is such a good girl and we could not be more proud of her.  The first night was a little rough but since that night she has slept all night which allowed Daddy and Mommy to catch up on some lost sleep.  She is using potty paper and also does very well at going potty outside under the Ornamental Maple Tree (her personal pick).  She has foregone the lovely bed that I had gotten for her and prefers to sleep in her toy basket among her stuffed friends.  As you can see in one of the photos she also has found a mirror friend…she just can’t figure out where the puppy is.  Thank you again for your patience with me and Bill (mainly me).  If I could have taken all the pups I would have but, we are thrilled with our little girl.  It was hard leaving her today but since Mom and Dad are there to babysit I feel better…they are enamored with their grand-dog-baby!     Donna Rogers

We had such a nice time

Miss Christina wants to send a Big Thanks to Maples brother Finely who was adopted by Krista Henderson for sending us a cute picture of Finely dressed up for Halloween for our Fall fun with beagles section, along with some of his saved up upc/weight symbols from his dog food bags . We can collect them and send in a lot of lbs and as breeders exchange them for coupons which help the kids and I afford to buy the many bags of food we go thru here a week tending to all the doggies puppies and rescued beagles we care for daily !!

Often folks remember us and send along their Iams /Eukanuba upcs or Purina weight symbols from food they fed their sunshine beagle over the year and send a picture with them at x-mastime so we can add it to our card/picture wreath please save yours for us too, if we forgot to ask when you adopted your puppy or retired doggie ! thanks guys !

it really helps us do what you enjoy watching us do  !!

    Saturday :

we met again with mr. Griffin from Columbia SC. who had stoped by on his way to his mothers home here in Monroe during the week to place a deposit on his orange and white boy by Maple.

He was heading home and picked up his new buddy to take home and begin a new friendship ! Being retired he has time to enjoy walks with his little guy and even promissed to bring him back to us to watch for him when he and his wife travel ! We love getting to see our babies as they grow up with families.  Boarding for our customers means we get to.. and the kids and I love that !!

     We wish everyone a
     happy Fall!

    silvergirlsparents

Sweeties silver sweetie went home to be a first birthday gift

    for their daughter !

    sweetiessilvergirl

    Birthday girl !

    babyblankets

her new mom brought us lots of baby blankets her daughter had outgrown now and collected newspapers to use with our many litters we work to paper train here ! Iams puppy biscuits are so appreciated too since we use them daily to lure pups to come... entice dogs to get in their crates, and feed new moms who arent much interested in eating... just tending to their newbies ...but they do like the puppy biscuits for some reason and that helps us keep them eating and producing nutricious milk for the little darlins we are raising up for families to love on like we do  !

she knew she wanted a special color beagle not the traditional black and tan , & loved the Silver coloring on her new baby girl !

    Fall Litters are arriving !!

Chocolate Beagle Puppy in Fall Leaves

Fall is a wonderful time of year to enjoy your dog and go out in the perfect weather !

    Hiking Beaglle

    Thurs.:

Belle had her litter of pups last night at our wonderful vets office after hours by C-section.  We are happy to report she and her babes are all doing great now.  She had tri colored boys and a girl, and a chocolate girlie and Buff colored boy baby, all are eating well and thriving ! these are going to be late Oct. darlins for those in that timeframe to bring home a new puppy for nice Fall walks in the leaves and cuddle time by the fireplace in the evening !

Belles last litter was adorable ask to get on the waiting list to claim one of this litter if that Fall Time frame works for You !!

    Josie

Josie was adopted by her new parents who fell in love with her online and asked to come right out to add her to their home!

They had been admiring Lulu like many folks, and noticed she had then been adopted. When they saw Josie's new pictures go on the website, they immediately contacted us and let us know all about themselves in order to pre-qualify to adopt her or their own!

Thanks guys for the Iams Biscuits and toys for the pups!

    Braxton and Silvergirl

Braxton was adopted along with Darla's silver runt! Their new owners had lost their beloved Hunter, a tricolor beagle who lived up to his name, they told us they were happy to find out about our homebody beagle lines, and flew out from Miami and met with us and adopted their pair! They loved both so much they couldnt choose between them, and decided this way they could keep each other company and enjoy growing up together.

    tilley

Tilley went home with her new family from Sarasota FL who were on the waiting list for their own sunshine acres beagle! Their family travels and does an acrobatic act together, at fairs and events, they happened to be up in North Carolina and asked to come out and see their favorite Tilley! They loved her in person just as much and took her home to the Gulf coast! they brought biscuits and  a toy for she and her littermate to play with so her familiar scent was on it and left one to keep the last pup of the litter company till someone adopts her too ! thats so thoughtful !

    Mandarin

Mandi found her forever home ! Her new parents had emailed asking to meet some of the older available puppies, telling us about their sweet beagle who needed a friend! Their dog was very gentle and calm, and being more on the shy side than usual, Mandi also a subordinate personality, was just the right fit and found a new friend and family to love!

    darlas Jasko

Roger & Dave, roommates from Greenville SC, adopted Darla's Tricolor boy "Jasko" ! Roger had emailed us saying he was smitten with Darlas tri boy and wanted to hold him off the market till he closed on his home purchase and got moved in in a week or so.. we were happy to do that with his deposit , and once settled in the guys came to take him home !

"Hey guys, this is dave sending off a quick email about how our little Jasko is doing in his new family.  Roger & I welcomed the new guy into our family two thursday ago!
Overall he has been aclimating well to our house!  Sleeping on us, on the sofa, on the floor, and in his bed.  Pretty much if he can get there - he will sleep!  We are excited about him not being concerned at all with the cats - although sometimes he does want to play with them.  They all tend to keep their distance and we haven't had to worry about them co-existing as much as we feared!
The first night home was a great success! He slept all night and got up with us."

We wish to thank everyone for not flooding us with emails during the Huricane ... while we love knowing everyone is thinking of us out there and praying we are all safe here ... this time our computer had gone out and we werent able to announce things were fine like we normally would try to do so folks minds are at ease .

Its awesome to now be able to open pages of the website that used to freeze up and or tell us to contact the author before publishing changes... ( we are the author it was so agrivating...)

argh poor Christi would spend litterally hours on placement of new pictures in each section only to be stoped when she was ready to add them all to the site by publishing at times..

and often it wouldnt save and she would loose all the hours of work!

We are so happy to say its up and working now and we are fixing a few missing things like our calendar and a few programs we have to reinstall ... but at least the sites working and letting us move forward

Our main computer we do the web updates on with pictures has been in the shop for a few weeks, we're excited to say we've got it back now and we'll be adding new pictures

Wednesday: Roger and his roomate came out to welcome home their newest addition- Darla's tricolor boy with a big blaze!

Amber was claimed by the Alicia Wimbley from the waiting list!

"Lulu", Ava aka "Aurora", Bebop, and Betsy have all been adopted by their forever homes!luluandfamily

Lulu's new mom, and her daughter who had contacted us by emails for her mother came to pick her out and take her home to enjoy !

    ..................................................................................

Our Tricolor momma Bonnie just retired and went home with a family referred to us by Betsy Reese-Helms, mom of one of our sunshine beagles "Irma" whom we've had the pleasure of boarding several times!

The family also adopted Bonnie's two daughters!

now each of Lisa's daughters has their own :)

lots of folks say getting two is the only way to go and just this weekend a young couple came back to get their second to entertain their Sunshine Beagle Boy when they are busy or off at work during the day the boys can play in their backyard together now .. they confirmed what we say..

having two at the same time is easier .. they said i wish we had gotten both at the same time  !! ( read all about it ahead on our get two page!)

We were so happy to see Bonnie and her last two puppies stay together!

When we first heard from her new family they were missing their previous two beagle sisters they had lost , and thought they would like to get an adult female then maybe get a pup later on to join them...

we told them we hadnt even had a chance to add our lovable Bonnie to the retire page as yet.. but would hold off till the Camp they were working at in the mountains here in NC. was finished and they could come meet her and possibly adopt bonnie and a daughter... well both pups were just so darn cute ... they couldnt leave one behind and decided to keep the little darlins all together with their mom in the new family !  On their way home to Florida they were able to swing by and adopt all three girls !

our thanks to Betsy for telling them all about sunshine acres beagles and her doggie Irma for impressing them too !! LOL ,

here she is below on some of her visits here

when we watched her for Betsy !

(Irma boarding with us, hanging out while Jake plays the guitar. She and Lucy  were both here over Christmas while their sunshine families were traveling!)

Jake & Christi were recently on a trip to the Smoky Mountains with Jake's mom & stepdad!

Christi and Jake climb down into the river along the biking trail!

    tubing down Deep Creek !

cute little town of Bryson city!

We dont often get to take vacations at the same time in our family since there is much to look after here, so we often take turns... Miss Christina and son Cody had gone to the Beach to bring Maple back to her owners after her visit to breed one of our males in June...

so this time it was christi and jake who got a nice get away to the Mountains of NC.

( we suggest this as an idea to other families looking for one last summer fun experience with the kids... we share info with everyone on where to go in our state on our travel page ahead... this will definately have to be added as a great trip destination ..)

we've had folks come to our state and enjoy it ,

then head to our home to pick up their puppy and head home with a new adopted baby beagle from Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppies...

sounds like a neat idea to us , spend the night at the Beach or Mountains in NC.

and arrive here after lunchtime on their way back home !

    Our weekend was fantastic   !!!

Rose's tri boy Milo aka "Tyson"  went home with the Braun family who drove out from CT!

they brought with them more goodies for our family... this time it was all about coffee time for us knowing we have just had our Fall Litters arriving and not much sleep as we watch over them !  we so appreciate them for all theyve shared with our family !!

Rose's Shiloh aka "Mickey" went home to the Birthday boy!!  Brandon's Grandparents who are  raising him got on our waiting list for an August homecoming for their grandsons big day it all worked out great and he was able to pick out his own puppy and take him home to enjoy for summertime  !!

and Rose's "Lucas"                went home with Julian and Diana! They brought their friends who were loving Maverick!         (in the background!)  They shared with us they found our website a year ago and had followed it every since knowing they wanted a Sunshine Beagle Puppy of their own ...

the timing was right and they were nearby visiting friends and noticed we were meeting with new inquires this past weekend so they asked to be approved and come right out to find their perfect pal to start their little family with  !!

Missy's mini  boy now known as "Bolt" went to return customers the Wilson's who came back for their second sunshine beagle .  Their son had gone to Washington State to Camp and was home now and ready to get their little guy to join in some family time summer fun!

and  Missy's runtsize tri boy now "Milo" went home with Nancy & Seth who drove up from Fern Park Florida!  They had joined our waiting list for a tri colored runtsized boy this summer and told us the timing worked out beautifully mom's a teacher and she just finished a all nighter Eighth Grade Lock Up ...

so they were finished with other summer activities and ready to enjoy some

Puppy Love time before school starts up again !!

     .................................................................

" Mater" one of our baby beagles whom we shipped home to his Canadian family last year came out to board with us while his family travels in the US.

They brought a T-shirt , hat, and Syrup from  Canada for son Cody

who is interested in Canada!  His favorite video game Mass Effect is made up there by Bio Ware and they shared some info with him about how it is to live and work in Canada !!

She also told us 2 friends of theirs have beagles from Canada and when she met them she said Mater is soo handsome... I knew folks always tell me he is a good looking beagle...

but those dogs were .. well ugly !! compared to our Sunshine Beagle boy LOL !!

ha we got a good laugh about that

Mater hangs out with Cody to watch some tube

they told us he doesnt sleep in his crate much ...

mostly in the kids  beds LOL !!

    Thursday :

Dixie is here to board with us while her parents travel !

here she plays with her own toys in our living room while we work on the website updates!

    Sunny's Litter arrived   !!

she had 2 Tri colored  standard size pups a  boy and girl,

and one orange and white girllie who looks like her mommie  !

It's been Christmas before last since she's been a mom so we are thrilled to have one last litter by our favorite Greeter...before we retire her to a great pet home..

Sunny has been out front on our Invisible Fence system to show folks how well it works

for our Beagles,  lots of folks have enjoyed meeting this super friendly gal !!

look for her on our retire page in a few months if your looking to adopt an adult who is house, crate, and kids bed trained as well as  Invisible fence trained by the Pros who installed and trained our beagles here at our home so folks can meet them out front and see some of the various beautiful colored beagles we have here as Sunshine  Acres as they drive up to our home and get out of their cars she was a great dog whom everyone adores !

The Braun family sent their care package ahead of their visit to pick up

Rose's puppy Milo, and for  his family here at sunshine acres to enjoy!

liver treats for mommy, Iams biscuits,  and toys for all the puppies to play with,

as well as a Panera Bread gift card for his human family! ( Miss C. and kids)

Maple was a natural she delivered her beautiful Beagle Puppies wonderfully !

we will be inviting Maples owner Nicole and her mom Sunshine beagle retired mom owner   & a second addition of a pup later...Yolanda our dearest friend out to meet their grandbeagles soon..,Their eyes are just beginning to open for the first time and we try to wait to snap pics a few days so as to not surprise  their new peepers before they get a chance to learn to trust us

(here they are before their eyes opened..

it takes 2 weeks till they open up !)

     .

Yolanda sent along the  sheet above, for us to use here..

they no longer had a bed its size,

knowing how we appreciate them here with our moms and babies sleeping

and nesting on them in their whelping area while

the little darlins nurse and keep warm with momie close..

( we love getting sheets donated folks kids have outgrown too hint hint..

being torn is ok too,  since some moms tear up a sheet the day they deliver..

so we keep some of those on hand for that day of nesting

when they are about to have their little ones )

What a beautiful bunch of babes  !!

We are going to pick up Maple !! ,

(she's the daughter of Ruth our dear friend Yolanda adopted from us a few years back.. after having adopted our sweet retired mom Sally Wally , ( their story is ahead on the rescued/retired beagles page) she wanted one of the pups miss C. planned on keeping  (Ruth),

so we all agreed she would someday return to have a litter for us..

we kept out (Ruthie) her baby from that litter,  and Yolanda's daughter got (Maple),

and agreed to the same thing some day ...

well some day is here ! )

she's due soon and big as can be according to her owners who agreed to let us breed her to one of our boys in the future to have babies for us and others to enjoy from that bloodline !

    ask for your appt.!

    Saturday:

we met with the Klingles to send off our baby Jingo , the khaki runtsized girlie by Jessie they were on our waiting list for and claimed .. then drove down to pick up from their home in Penn.

they had mailed us a Puppy Care package ahead of time

so their new puppy would have a toy to bring home with them

she was familiar with and had played with her littermates here with

so it had their scent on it too !  Dear

here is  their update since arriving back home with their new baby!:

    Dear Miss C,
We are very happy with our little Jingo.  She is so sweet yet feisty.  We enjoy every minute with her and she makes us laugh so much.  We had waited over 2 years after losing our beloved lab to get another dog and Jingo has fit the bill just perfect.  Our trip home was such a joy, at every rest stop people wanted to talk to her and say how cute she is.  We are working on going outside to the bathroom .  She is very good about going on the paper in her box (BTW she moved from the bathtub to a box in our bedroom last night).  She walks very good on the leash and always runs really fast when it is time to go back in the house.

Thank you for choosing a very good little girl for us, we are very pleased.  Have a great week.
It was a pleasure to meet you.

    Romaine and Lynn Klingel

     ( here's her gang ! )

Jessie has a tiny khaki mini boy available as well as a standard

sized chocolate boy ready to adopt , (boy in back of pic)

we are smitten with the chocolate girlie and are keeping her

to make us more like her when she's all grown up !!

Cody loves the fatties like her he calls them fluffy puppies !

Jingo is a more petite build and just what her new owners wanted

more slim legs and smaller paws etc.

They've recently sent us a great update about how things are going with their darling puppy , after waiting for 6mo. to find just the one it sounds like they are in Puppy Love and things are going great for them up in PA.  We have lots of folks drive down to us  from there.. as well as Virginia, since its such a nice drive down here ..they tell us its well worth it to come to us for a loving family member to enjoy !

    Dear Ms. C and Christi,

We have meant to write to you much earlier and apologize for our late update of "Lotus":... Our precious baby's new name is Bella :) she is the most adorable thing ever... We have a hard time walking her, because she is like a magnet, attracting every single person on the streets :) she is so clever and learning incredibly quick! We feel her trust and love every time she stares at us through her beautiful eyes... She LOVES sleeping on our laps and runs around like a little rabbit when she wakes up :) We are sending you a few pictures of her.

Thanks a million for this precious princess!

We hope all is well with you! We will be in touch and send you other photos of our little baby :)

    Sincerely,

We received an update from the Golds on Sasha aka Piper by Bonnet!

    "Hi Miss Christina and kids,
We have had Piper for a little over a month now and things have been going great.  We love her so much!  It is interesting that so many people have commented that she acts nothing like the typical beagle.  She doesn't chase and howl at everything that comes into the yard.  She is so sweet, and very playful.  We are still trying to get her to walk nicely on a leash, as she would rather stay at home and play in the yard.  On one walk however, we ran into Nala by pure coincidence.  It was neat to meet another one of your Sunshine Acres babies!  Piper likes her training classes and has made a good friend, a huge Doberman named Jackson!  They are so cute together.
We decided to have an Invisible Fence installed.  We told them that you had referred us, so please let us know if they forget to contact you.  Piper is doing very well in her fence training.  We have only had it a couple of weeks and she is already able to go outside on her own.  But it is way more fun for the girls to go outside to play ball with her.
I also wanted to touch base with you regarding our vacation to West Virginia.  We would love it if you could board her while we are away.  I mentioned it to you when we picked her up in May, but I wanted to make sure the dates still work for you.
I have attached a few pictures.  As you can see from one, she had her spay surgery and it went well.  You can also see that we have spoiled her with her personalized things!
Thanks again for allowing us to bring Piper into our home.  Our family is truly complete.
    Take care,
Mandy, Stephen, Jacqueline, Eva and Piper   "

she recently got to come back for a visit /boarding week while her family went on a vacation... she was right at home and had a great time with her old buddy Maverick who is still here lookin for a great home to join himself !!

here she is when she came back to stay with us ..

her family is just crazy about how fun this girlie is !!

We received an update from Candace Jimmy and Maggie Mae  in Las Vegas!

    Hi All!!
Just a note to tell you how much in love we are with Maggie Mae! She is doing great - she is sooooo smart, a luv bug, gorgeous and the sweetest!!! Her daddy adores her!!!!!

    Ms. C and Christy~
    Quote me on this:

Oh My Gosh! We couldn't have been matched any better with our new wonderful little girl, Maggie Mae! Our 4 month Khaki Mini girl was the perfect match for Jimmy and I. It was a bit unnerving adopting a puppy sight unseen and from photos on a website. But knowing Ms. C and Christy read about our family in our letter for consideration, we place our trust in their knowledge of their babies and matching us up and boy, did they do well!!! Not only is Maggie adorable, but she is a smart cookie too! She entertains us all day until we are laughing in stitches, cuddles with us at night until it's lights out and crate time and is excelling in her positive reinforcement training sessions. I hope you both know how happy this family is with our new addition and we look forward to sharing her growing years with you!
    Love 'n Licks!
    Jimmy & Candace Maddin

We received an update from Lindsey on Babette's tricolor mini girl Lily!~

    "Hi Miss Christina!

I hope you're doing well and enjoying the summer! I thought I'd send you an update on Lily. She just turned six months old and she's so smart! She graduated from puppy class (I've attached her graduation picture!) and is now in intermediate class. I also taught her to ring a bell when she needs to go potty. She is so cute, I have the bell hanging by the patio door and she goes up to it and rings it with her front paws when she needs to go outside.  I also just got a trailer to attach to my bicycle and Lily loves to go for bike rides in it. Everywhere we go everyone stops and gushes over how cute she is!
Here are some recent pictures of Lily! Enjoy!!
    Lindsey"

Ashley went home with the Pope family who had written asking specifically to adopt Ashley! They came right over the weekend and she was definately the one!

They have already written to let us know she is settling in nicely!

"It couldn't have been better! The only time she cried at all was when we had put her in her kennel and then she heard me feed the cats. She thought she was missing out! She quickly settled down, though, and didn't make a peep the rest of the night.

I'll send a photo of her getting used to her new home.

We love her so very much. Thank you for all that you do.
    Jane

    silver bell's silver boy "Tyler",

went home with a family who said they wanted to kiss and hug him .. from his pictures on the internet..

and felt that way in person too !!

his littermates are ready too ! ask for your favorite.

our baby girl "Midge" finally found the perfect match ..

her family are empty nesters who 's dog had passed,

and dad was so happy to see his wife find a new darling to devote herself to ...

he gave miss C. a big hug,  when they left,  and that said it all....

one husband a few years ago said i have to hug you...

your going to make my wife soooo happy again.. ! thanks a million..!!

my wife missed having her kids in the house when they took off for college and then our family dog passed away,

I cant tellyou how much it means to me to have her have a baby to dote on again...

she's been lost without our older dog to care for ....

and youve given her (your baby)  to care for and love !!!

I cant express how that makes me feel....  to see her so happy again ..

Miss Christina loves knowing everyone is on board with a new addition to the family !

    hugs are her bonuses  !!!

Puppy Care packages are starting to arrive from their adoptive families!

Now retired mom " Marley's " daughter adorable "Payton" who lives with the Light family in Rock Hill SC. is staying with the kids and I while her family enjoys a vacation ! We board for our doggies only , and love seeing our puppies growing up as they come back to stay with us !  She ran right to son Cody's bed and jumped in just as "Finely" had done when he was here recently staying with us for a week while his mom Kristen vacationed with her mom .  They start out playing with the kids on the couch and bed so coming home to hang out with us again is much more fun than going to a kennel somewhere with a staff they dont know someone told me recently it really played a big roll in their chosing our family to adopt their beagle from knowing it would be happy and safe here once again while they had fun traveling !

Lizzy's Carver flew home to LA!

    "Miss Christina and kids,
Carver (who we have renamed Cooper) arrived safely after his long flight to LA. We gave him a potty break at In-n-Out (in true California style) and got him home for dinner, playtime, bath time, and bed. He slept almost 8 hours, played with Jon and I for a bit and is now sleeping and giving us adorable puppy snores! We love him so much and are glad to have him home :) Will send pics soon!
    Jon and Dana Weber"

    M"Friday:

we met with  "Gina's"  new family who took her home to Maggie Valley !

" She was a perfect angel on the way home.  She sat in our laps and took 2 naps in her bed.  She played with the toys we brought with us.  When we got home she met Reggie and she just laid down and rolled over - Reg sniffed her all over and they were fine.  The cats are a bit afraid of her but they will get used to her.  We put her in the bathroom after we played and took her for a walk.  She howled for about 5 minutes and then went into her bed which we put in her crate and went to sleep.  When she wakes up we will take her out again.  She is an absolute sweetheart and we love her.  Thank you for taking such good care of her.  We will send pictures in a few weeks.  Susan"

    ...............................................................

If your family is on our waiting list check in with us to let us know if there have been any changes or updates to your preferences.. sometimes someone adds a new color option they would like to be offered matches in and we have more pups sooner who would fit their families timeframe or gender preferences !

(those just beginning to follow our website are welcome to ask about currently available puppies who are ready to adopt since they likely dont have a match amoung our waitling list folks and are looking for a family to love and bond with now ! )

we got her update email the next day letting us know all was going great !

    .........................................

    Christina, Christi and Jake ~

We both arrived in Las Vegas, an hour late, but with no issues whatsoever! She was an absolute doll and never let out a peep! Once we arrived back at the home, it was late, but Tiffany Jimmy and I sat up while she entertained us for several hours. She then went right in her crate next to our bed and slept the whole night. The names we had were to keep her' Sierra' or change it to Maggie Mae. We were waiting to meet her and then decide. Well, she is definitely our Maggie Mae! I wish you could have seen the joy on Jimmy's and Tiffany's faces!!! I personally, haven't wiped the smile off my face yet! I hope you all know how much we look forward to a lifetime with her filled with much joy, spoiling and companionship! Jimmy and I have played with her all morning now, she went down for a nice nap, we played some more and is now doing quiet time in a restricted area right next to me while I type. What a delight she is!!!!
We will stay in touch as promised! We go introduce her to Dr. Yach this afternoon - the whole office is excited to meet her!
    With much love & licks!
    Candace, Jimmy and Maggie!

Delta's cargo office at Charlotte Douglas International

Bye Bye Baby we will miss you  !!

Miss C. wishes to thank everyone for their continued patience with us right now..

as some of you have heard her back went out and the kids are taking care of things as best they can with so much going on we are behind on sitting down to write all the e-mails to the many folks who are hoping to hear back !!

hang in there and resend yours if its gotten missed we try to go back and check for those but occassionaly the first ones we see get their answers and then something draws us away like watching over the newborns which is our priority above all else and those who are understanding of that are the folks we enjoy having lasting relationships with as they adopt our little babies and take over that special care for us and their new family member !

    Friday:

Dee Dee has had her litter , and today Brandy had hers...

these litters will be our  mid July homecoming pups !!!

sweetie Sasha played with her buddy Pierre who awaits his adoptive family's arrival next week... and a toy her folks left for her to play with here and have to bring home to help the transition to their home...

then lay down for a nap to wait on her future family to arrive ...

when they came to the door... she met them as if she knew this time its for ME !!

The girls were so excited to meet their new little friend Daddy got a Big Hug for this wonderful Surprise... at last their very own Puppy   !!!!

    Another perfect match  !!

    " Hi Miss C,
Hope you and your family and all of the beagles are doing well.  Howdy is doing great and we are having so much fun!  He was neutered last week and if I did not see the three tiny purple stitches I would not know anything was done to him. He is one busy boy.  Everyone that sees him falls in love with him.  He is a beautiful dog and you certainly raise first class beagles.  Howdy is
loving life and we are loving him!  If you are ever in Asheville, give us a call.  I am sending some pictures for your Howdy enjoyment.
    Take care,
    Barbie"

    Friday:

Wet weather again today, we have a sudden surprise thunder and lightening and downpour,  the kids ran to collect up the puppies that were just minutes before enjoying some nice sunny playtime.

( Claimed) Tri boy Pierre plays with Sasha on left, and tiny 17 week old Midge the Nano Khaki girlie between them... Nano silver Lotus is behind, (claimed) Tri runtsized Sasha who goes home on Sunday to surprise a charlotte families kids for Memorial weekend !

Its gonna be Memorable... this year  , thats for sure !

Pierre on left, beside tiny silver nano Lotus in middle, who is next to Sasha, behind Ellie

     Ellie by the fire hydrant!

Pierre plays on left, and Sasha sits on right, with tiny nano Midge and Lotus in middle

Pierre's Tri colored sister Ellie hangs out on miss C's lap after getting doused with the sudden rain shower  !   The big crack of Thunder scared her to pieces right above our heads !

where did this come from so quickly???

Awwe Hail No  , now its Hailing too... crazy  weather  !!

    Peaches  had her litter

her pups will be ready to come home around the

    Fourth of July

      Holiday !!

Buster joined his new family in Mooresville NC!

Here he checks out his new home, and then follows his new friend over to see her build blocks in the children's room, wagging his tail!

We plan on meeting with a few families on sunday before Memorial Day to let Ellies new parents come out to welcome her home , and Sasha's new family surprises the kids and comes to get her too ! Ask for an appt if you have a favorite you'd like to come out and meet to adopt .

Our family has cookout plans on Monday so we wont be meeting with folks on the Holiday this year.

Jessie's rare color litter is here now !!

    Thursday:

we took Cameron to the vets office today to get his paperwork done to fly out of state to his new home and family the Van de Kops in Dallas Texas on Friday !

Everything went well and he is good to go !

Buster runtsized older pup just claimed...

hangs out on the Deck with Darby by Carmen before he heads home to his new family in Mooresville !   They loved the fact that he was an older pup and calm around their toddlers.

After coming out to meet us and some younger possible matches they placed a deposit to hold him and go home to ready things for his arrival... since daughter Christi and Jake intoduced us to his new family a preacher from Jakes moms town whom they had become friends with...

they were able to take Buster home with them after spending the weekend here helping us out and meet with his new family to help him adjust to the transition to their home !

Sometimes folks see the wisdom in chooseing an older pup simply because they have had all the shots ih the series of  4 done already and then only need their Rabies shot done to complete their vet shots ,  this can save a busy household time going to the vets office !

Christi and Jake had decided to donate their drum set to the new Ministry

and had it all ready to take home when the young family came out for a visit...

We hope everyone had a special Mother's Day !

Right now we are watching little Hattie by Spot ,

( "Spot's " Hattie hangs out with one of her sibblings "Pierre" this evening

the two of them play with a rope bone sent along for the gang

    from the Overcash family below..)

( Tri colored Pierre is now claimed by waiting list family for this timeframe)

and Callie an adult female who comes to stay with us while her family travels .. this time they were off to Washington again .We love getting to see our Beagles as they grow up and their new families let us care for them and see um again !

Thanks to the Overcash Family who sent along a box with things for us to use around Sunshine Acres , and a Sea Shell toy for their new puppy Sandals sister who is still here with us to play with ...

her name is "Sea Shell so they sent her a plastic sqeaky toy  Starfish !

here are their two Sunshine Beagles fast asleep

on the couch together like Peas in a Pod.

    Hello Miss C and kiddos
Look at our beautiful khaki & tri colored Sunshine Acres Beagles!!
They are perfect in every way. They both are exactly what you said and more. They are getting along together just wonderful.
Thanks to the great start from all you guys they have both been EXTREMELY easy to potty train. Neither of them have a desire to wander away from our yard/house. Their coats are more beautiful than the pictures show, they literally shine like a diamond. You really can tell the years of time, energy, and dedication you all have put into raising QUALITY companion beagles. We love them unconditionally. And are forever grateful that you have allowed us to be a part of your beagle family.
    Love
    The Overcash's

" Silver Belle"  had her first litter by c-section and had 3 khaki and 3 silvers

the mini khaki girlie has been spoken for  by the Payton Family who drove down to meet with us on Friday from Danville PA. to see how their son reacted to our less shedding rare colored babies since he has some alergies to certain dogs...

we got a thumbs up and no puffy eyes after their handling Silver Bell's newbies !

They had written asking  to come for a visit some time ago ,and asked for a puppy to match their June Timeframe , these matched wonderfullly !

    Wed:

and out of it we got Ruthie to continue this line in our breeding program .

Yolandas daughter got one of the chocolate girls from ruths litter too  ..

    ...................................

this afternoon we met with an approved family who had asked to see "Tootsie" , they have a small jack russel terrier and were looking to replace their previous hunting bred beagle male with a more laid back housedog personality ...

she was responsive to them and would sit rather than jumping up on them , and showed she wasnt the alpha dominant personality their "Dottie" didnt care for in their past beagle...

so off they went with our Retired fixed sweetie to give her a wonderful happy home we were hoping to find for our girl !

He had already written saying he liked the idea of getting a second Sunshine Beagle Puppy to join their family to entertain and be a playmate for Bailey to enjoy as well as her daughter who had flown to Hawaii to spend the Holiday with her dad there.      Tiane and her son drove up from Atlanta Ga.&  picked up little silver mini

Remington , we had to tease his new mom about the size of the harness collar

she brought for him... being a tiny mini puppy now at 12 weeks old ... it would be a long time... if ever that he would fit into that size !! LOL !

Saphire's Wylie got chosen to go to  Jackson MI.

and  Jasmines Tri colored sibbling pair went  home to  Hickory NC.

Well we are !! We did loose one big tree that nearly missed our old Mercedes parked out off the driveway .. thankgoodness it didnt hit the garage either it came down and half of it went in front of the car and the other half went a different direction and missed the garage...

wheew we were pretty Blessed it fell just like it did  !

Again  we so appreciate everyones concern ... it really shows us how many folks are thinking of the kids and I and all the beagles and baby beagles here we care for around Sunshine Acres !!

they are in " Puppy Love : they report ... we love it   !

    Saturday:

A couple from SanFrancisco Alex St John and Janine Shaw came flew out to welcome home their very own khaki nano additions!

They were referred to us by Karen Richardson who had also flown out from California a year ago to first meet us and place a deposit to get on the waiting list for her own khaki nano sunshine beagle after meeting one of ours in San Francisco, then she flew back out adopt her very own "Pixi" by sandy, and take her back on board the plane to meet hubby Jon Rubenstein and become their spoiled lil Diva!

Her story and pictures are on the about sunshine acres page and Sandy's page.

After meeting Pixi and getting such a glowing referral about our companion beagles, Alex and Janine flew out to welcome home two older puppies we had which worked for them and their busy schedules since they were past all the vetwork required with a new young puppy, and had begun sleeping together in a crate at night here.

Miss C and Christi appreciate all those other folks who were patient about us getting back to them about Coral & Docker's availability. We had a good feeling that they had already found their perfect match and Alex & Janine's visit confirmed it as they fell in love in person as well as online and took them  to surprise their teenagers at home!

We're never in a hurry to place them, we want them to find the right home and will wait for the perfect match for each individual baby we handraise, and of course while they're here we get to enjoy them ourselves!

    Friday:

Maisys orange boy went home today with a lady from Asheville who came to meet the doggies ... she looked at some retiring dogs and a rescue.. and decided on an older puppy so she could bond with him and have many happy years ahead with her new best friend.. she has some rescued hounds but wanted a sunshine beagle since our dogs are selectively  bred for companion qualities ..

rather than hunting abilities.. and wanted a lap dog,

not one interested in tracking animals like other lines of beagles often are !

she picked our sweetheart "Dustin" and we think he will fit the bill perfectly

he loves hugging your neck and laying on your lap cuddling !

She also hoped he would like to play with her other outdoor doggies

and he was good at playing with toys and other dogs already sociallized

here with our dogs and puppies !

    Saturday:

we met with several families and "Butterfly" by Athena,

"Emmy" by Sugar, and "Morgan" by Maisy

all found their new homes and families !!

The Helms family adopted Sugar's "Emmy" !
(Sister Tricolor Runtsize "Zoey" is still available!)

weve already gotten a great report on

Emmy in her new home on 300 acres  !

She is doing great!  She slept in the bed with Holly and me....didn't have one problem!  I will send pictures soon!  We have a calico cat that stays outside and Betsy (Her name) thought she was her sister.  We are going to PetsMart today, what is something I should buy her....toy or rawhide?
    Thanks,

    Jodi

Sue &Glenn adopted Maisy's tricolor female "Morgan"
(Her Orange brother "Dustin" is still available!)

The Schillings family adopted Athena's Butterfly aka "Tulip"!

after emailing to say we love Butterfly !!
(brother Orange "Pepper" is still available!)

see our other available currently ready to adopt puppies below !

Clover's babies went home last Saturday!

Clover's mom Bleu had agreed to let Clover come back and have a litter                 for us when she adopted her, Clover came back to be bred,                                     then went home and came back once she was nearing her                                     due date and had 4 chocolate babies!                                                                            We are keeping the chocolate girl :)                                                                               Bleu adopted one of the sons,                                                                                          and her mom adopted another son,                                                                                and while Bleu was here to pick up their babies,                                                           the Hines arrived to adopt Clover's remaining son

and they were all able to meet!

We are keeping Clover's chocolate peppermint "Patty"!

First time mom "Brownie" had her litter

     of Tri-colored and

     chocolate puppies !

we will add pics soon of the cuties who will be ready for  Easter homecomings !! ask for info to get in line for a Easter Beagle if youd like to join our waiting list for your own !

last weekend bonnies orange girl went home to join her new family who told us they already had a orange and white cat who matched her LOL !!

Eddie B. aka now Bentley went home with the Love famil

     and his brother Trevor !

Ada G. took her chocolate mini girl by Sienna home to Miami as a friend for their current tri colored beagle !

The Krouses have already sent us this ADORABLE picture of Bosco aka Mousse there in their home playing with the rawhide bone Miss Christina gave them the day they took him home! It was part of the care package that Moli Mango's parents Will & Paisley sent us in celebration of her first birthday in their family!! We so appreciate it when folks show their generousity and continued devotion to helping the kids and I in our mission to raise little family members for other folks to enjoy!. We thought this idea of sending party favors to share with other pups was so cute and we know Bosco appreciated it! Often folks send us Greenies or toys to share with other puppies we are hand raising here, and we've found that these particular small bone shaped rawhide treats are a favorite with the puppies!
(ps Miss C and Christi say this picture could be in a catalog! he is so adorable with modeling this Dentleys product, hehe! We have had one of our beagle do catalog pictures, Debbie Domby's chocolate boy was hired to do a photo shoot! maybe this guy will follow in his footsteps lol.)

Wow... what a  big day we had Saturday !!

6 puppies found great new homes!

The Glass family from Pumpkin Center NC came and decided to get a sibbling pair by Bonnie to join their family !

Folks have been contacting us asking to adopt puppies we think this early springlike weather is giving folks puppy fever and we are..

as one family told us pretty much  one of the few beagle breeders who have pups ready during this timeframe !

( due to the fact ours are family raised housepet variety)

The Lowmans from Morganton NC wanted another beagle after loosing theirs... this time one who wouldnt run off to hunt ...

fhey decided on  Athena's tri girlie and said she can come to work with Dad each day at the fishery !

Most beaglers in our area don't raise their pups indoors to be housepets like we do , so they wait for warm weather to raise their  litters for rabbit hunting .. choose the ones they want and then sell off the rest to be hunting dogs or pets... ??

    "Andy" stole the hearts of

his new family the Lipe's from Concord NC.

he was just the right fit  !

Mineral Springs NC firefighter Josh surprises his wife with a new baby to love !!  He told us they had a beagle in the past and loved the breed... they have a bigger dog who is His.. and he wanted to surprise her with a puppy of her own to cuddle with !

" chocolate Mousse" found his new family ! they were already smitten with him online and came to meet him and take him home !

Starlet had her litter of Silvers,

and a new light color... Buff and white  !!   too cute...

uh oh.. Miss C is already falling for one of the girls ...

she loves all versions of beagles and these are super rare...

we warn ya ... they are like Lays Potatoe chips... LOL !!

once you try um ... you just cant stop

you want more ,more ,more !!

    Friday:

we met with the Mitchells who were on our waiting list for a Sunshine Beagle... when their older dog passed on, they let us know recently that they were ready  now and axious to come up from Athens GA. to meet with us !  when they met little Sugar a runtsized chocolate recent mom.. they wanted her... then asked to meet our older mini orange and white boy "Tiger"  and loved his sweetheart personality, he rolled right over for a belly rub and hugged his new mom as if to say Ive been waiting for you to come along and love on me !

    Saturday:

a young couple from Ft. Lauderdale Florida came  up to pick up their silver sweetie by Darla  to start their little family!

Clover's chocolate cuties are starting to open their eyes so we will be snapping pics of those cuties to add to the site once everyone has a chance to adjust to the light... we dont like to use a flash the first few days or so when they have just opened their eyes till they are adjusted to seeing the world ... so their first impressions are all good... !!

sweet little mini chocolate mom tootsie who lost her litter in emergency c-section took over for first time mom Clover who didnt have milk..

she loves the babes as if they were her own !

see their page link below .

We hope everyone had a great

    Valentines Day !!

    Clover's litter arrived Superbowl Sunday-

it was Puppy Bowl Sunday for us!

Tootsie's litter also started arriving in the middle of the night, and then she delivered by c-section, sadly they didnt make it, but Tootsie does have milk thankfully, and happily took over for Clover who's milk did not let down. Tootsie has had a couple litters for us in the past, so she knew just what to do and was anxious to help with the babies !  We went ahead and had her fixed, and will be retiring her once she weans the babies. If you are interested in a mini chocolate adult female, you can let us know and we'll review your family and home for sweet little Tootsie!

    www.sunshinebeaglepups.com/currentclover.htm

(the link above takes you to her page ! )

Clover and her boy at their home ..

Clover's owner brought her mom up from Jacksonville Fla. to pick out the babies they want out of her litter and take her home to be a housepet again... we had made an agreement when she was adopted to breed her in order to get a puppy from Clovers moms line of beagles ...

Tracy her mom has been retired and found a great pet home to go to..

. so we are happy to have a little baby girl by clover to keep her bloodline in our breeding program .

Thanks so much to Paisley & Will for the wonderful update on Moli Mango in honor of her 1st birthday, pictures, and care package of Iams Puppy Biscuits and our favorite bone shaped Dentley's rawhide mini chew chips!

This weekend we met with two repeat customer familes getting a second retiring mom each... Nick who adopted our "Precious" got Nano "Saphire" for his mom's birthday gift...

    and

Myrtle Beach residents the Rini family who had adopted our "Baby Girl"

came to get their second retiring mom "Carla" after having asked for Dibs on her a while back... she just raised her last litter for us and we were happy to make their wish come true to add her to their family too !

We've already gotten a great update from them saying she is doing great with both Baby girl and their kitties... amazing both moms had never met a cat yet are happy to sleep with them all on the same big bed with their new parents !

"Finely" came to board with us recently while Kristen ran a Marathon down in Florida, we loved seeing him again and she said she felt so comforted knowing he was here safe and sound in his first home while she traveled !

standard sized male tri color " Finely "sits next to our runt of a standard litter khaki colored "Grace", our borading doggies have fun in our home with us while their families travel... lots of our customers tell us its a big reason they decided to adopt from the kids and I since they can travel over the years and feel good about leaving their loved one with the first family they knew here !

The Natales told us that their trainer at Petsmart Obedience courses asked where Cooper came from- he was so impressed in fact he said he had never met a beagle before that was as smart!

    Wed:

christi and Jake took the last puppy from Eve's litter "Jingle" ,

( headed to New Jersey,  to the Kressler family )

and Sugar's Tri boy "Jasper" to the Charlotte Douglas International Airport today to fly home to Washington DC. !

and this eve Miss Christina met with Nicole

on her way back home from visiting relatives for the Holidays

and she picked up her  chocolate boy by Sugar !

We shipped puppies home to their new awaiting families  via Delta Petsfirst and Continental PetSafe last week!!

Jenny's Silver girl flew home to NV, Trina's tri mini girlie flew home to MO, Brandy's Chocolate girl flew home to CO, and Eve's tri runt girl Santa picked out flew to meet her family from Nova Scotia !

We love working for Santa each year

he lets the kids and I hand raise puppies for very special children across the world he thinks deserve a wonderful new family companion ...

of course its too cold for him up in the North Pole to raise tiny baby beagles so we are his elves down here in North Carolina..he puts in the order and we do our best to fill it the the perfect pet for their home !

we wish their new families a wonderful holiday season with their new little Sunshine beagles !

Weather permiting Dec. 29th or so, we plan to go back to the airport to send home more holiday babies

Miss Christina and kids want to say Thankyou

to some of our expectant parents ...

Addie who came to visit today and meet the puppies for New Years Timeframe brought with her some Yummy Treats with Turkey and Salmon and lots of healthy things for the mommies caring for the little ones to enjoy and benefit from...

we think this is so sweet that she thought of all the mom's and even brought a bag of wee wee pads to share with folks traveling here from far off states to pick up their baby beagles to have in the car... we love to help make that day go as well as possible and often offer those for use in the car on the road home or greenies to entertain the new pup on the trip so having folks donate these things shows they are going to be wonderful nurturing new parents to our babies and makes us happy to share our darlins with them , just as they have shared with us  !

( Addie shares some treats with Maisy)

who is helping raise DeeDee's one little girlie she picked to come home in the New Year Time Frame,

Dee Dee had only one baby and had milk for a week or so ... but with only one nursing its common for the lack of demand to make the mom have less and less supply so we are letting big old sweetie Maisy nurse her little pup for Dee Dee who comes in to visit now and then but allows Maisy to tend to her for the most part !

we are so lucky to have loving moms who adore puppies so much they will help raise other moms if needed like this  !

We also got a email from waiting list member- now up to choose Angula who knows someone with one of our puppies .. she gave us the heads up to be expecting a nice big 40lb Bag of Iams puppy food to arrive soon to help raise the babies on  !! Wow ! its such a help to have folks this generous to us and our doggies we love you guys !!

We wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving Holiday with their families !

    Break out the Coffee !!

    Yes the good stuff....

like the little Kona bag of Haole Boy Coffee

that frequent boarding family of Coco brought us as a souvenier when they vacationed in Hawaii !!

we stashed it away for a special time... like this !

Miss Christina has been staying up watching over the pups... Monday Brandys litter arrived, Sat. night Maisy's , and Sunday morning Sugars is now here too !! Yippie we are so excited to see all these adorable faces and know that our waiting list folks who are hoping Santa will bring a baby beagle will have their dream come true !!!

    Carmens gang is here !

Our Christmas Litters are starting to arrive!!
Its an exciting time around here for us.

Gorgeous Orange and white mommy Carmen came back to deliver her litter for us, as agreed when she was adopted by repeat customers Robert and Elizabeth Sawyer who had adopted her older brother, and wanted a playmate to entertain him!

Carmen had her litter ! She has 2 Tricolor Boys, 1 Tricolor Girl, 2 Orange Boys, and 2 Orange Girls!

and now Eve is in labor having her jet black tricolor runt & mini litter!!!

The first puppy care package has arrived!!

    "Thanks Mom!"

New mom Sarah Mosonyi from Chester NH has sent her puppy care package for her growing baby Lily to enjoy with her littermates before coming into her new home with her own toys!

She also showed her eagerness to help us properly raise her little baby by including a nice box of Iams Puppy Biscuits for mommy Belle who eagerly gobbles them down and converts them to wonderful nutritious momma's milk for little Lily to grow on at this stage!

    Sunday:

last weekend there was an Airshow at the

    Monroe Executive Airport !!!!

We plan to go see the Warriors and War Birds fighting it out

over our skys here in Monroe NC .

Yesterday when frequent Sunshine Beagle Lucy one of Bonnies girls was droped off Miss Christina was talking to her dad Josh S. who is a Commercial airline Pilot about going up in a small plane with the piolot who flew our puppy Bubbles by Embers home to fla.  and how nice that airport was & son Cody now wants to learn to fly !  When miss c. mentioned that we plan to attend the airshow here Josh's eyes lit up and he said oh..... that explains it...

He had seen saturdays jet planes fighting it out on his way to our home and wondered what in the world was going on overhead...

Christi said people were running out of their apartments at Nottingham Apts where Jake lives in monroe, looking up at the sky as flames were coming out of planes overhead .. and then Jakes dad called to say he had seen it and they found out it was an airshow going on ...

for a minute we bet lots of local families thought of a SCI-fi  for Real !!

    LOL  !!

Miss Christina has just flown home from spending a week with her parents in Naples fla. courtesy of the Destefano family who said it was actually less expensive to have their puppy delivered in person flying onboard the plane

     than shipped!

Having chosen their khaki mini boy online at a young age they  got to take advantage of the airlines' low fares of booking 2 weeks in advance.

It all worked out beautifully since the Lipsky family decided to adopt his tri colored runtsized sis also, and lived in Delray Beach fla!

The littermates got to keep one another company on the trip and snoozed the whole flight  !

The Lipskys paid the courier fee and purchased the crate bed and toy the pups had onboard the plane.

They drove over sat. am to pick her up from Miss C's folks' home in south florida !

    their update :

Everything was perfect. Daisy aka Kindle was perfect on the way home and our other dogs are all getting along just fine.

Thank you for sharing one of your little babies with us.

She is adorable and we will give her lots of love and attention. We will send you pictures in the future. It was a pleasure to meet u in person and your parents are lovely people. Thanks

To top it all off, it was great timing for the khaki boy to be a surprise birthday gift; Miss C. and her dad got to both celebrate their October birthdays as well !

    Sunday Oct. 24th:

After pulling an all nighter with Belle's litter of 6 tiny babes arriving here in our whelping room... she needed help having the last one so Christi got up to join Miss C and cody who were tending to the birthing since she went into labor around 2:45 that afternoon...and drove Miss C. to Cabbarus Emergency clinic 2 hours away... our vets werent reachable at 1:30 am this time..so we loaded her up and took her where our vet tech friend Terri works to have an emergency C-section to save Belle's life..sadly that last pups sack had broken and it didnt make it but our dear Belle is fine, and back home as we pulled in around 10 am...this morning... what a night ! and christi got ready to drive Starlet's last 2 silver boys to the airport to fly home to Orlando !

Miss C. is tending to belle's babies and giving her some of the remaining Iams biscuits donated to us by Meso's new mom Mrs. Shoemake who flew in a few weeks ago to take him home to be a storm chaser with she and her hubby, and their other beagle "Chase" !

we cant tell folks how much that means to us when someone thinks to bring those or newspapers to help us paper train the little guys we hand raise here !

(waiting for her litter to arrive look at that big tummy!)

Mom's often wont eat when they first have a litter ...

but if we cook chicken as miss c. had for her..

or have the puppy biscuits.. they will eat those,

      yummy !

and keep their strength up and make the wonderful rich milk needed to get our darlins off to a good healthy start...

    ...............................................

I know we say it alot,

but we so appreciate those of you who help us in our mission ..to bring housepet beagles into the world for all our happy families who get involved and help us to do it for them to enjoy their very own special little Sunshine Beagle baby for many years to come and keep a good ongoing friendship with the kids and I,   as the years go by when our baby ,becomes adopted ,and becomes their baby!

the special family member puppies, as well as the extended family we get from it, is why we do all that we do and its so worth it when folks let us know its appreciated

sending us pictures and emails to add to the website over the years to come !

waiting list member Sarah M. your little tri mini girlie arrived .. we think your gonna love this cutie wootie !

    Around Sunshine Acres!
While Miss Christina made the trip to Florida to meet with two families from Fla who got Siblings from Lizzy,
Christi Cody and Jake held down the fort
     here at Sunshine Acres!

Marley had two tricolor Girls earlier in the week!

Christi met with the Curry family from Lakeland Fl, while Miss C was gone, and adopted their daughter's new college study buddy to keep her company up in Gainesville!

"Scarlet" aka Shyla was adopted by Chelsea!

her parents have written with an update!

    Christina and Christi,

Mike and I are back in Lakeland, Fl as of 6 p.m., we had a awful time leaving Gainesville, besides saying bye to our daughter we had to say bye to the new member of our family Scarlet(aka Shyla). Chelsea has loved movie Gone with the Wind for years and has watched it several times, along with the sequel "Scarlet". The puppy is adorable and we all already fell in love with her. We spent  Sunday night  in Savannah and had even more time to get attached to Scarlet ourselves. Mike is so happy Chelsea said she would come home this weekend and study, so we can see Scarlet.

We really appreciate and thank you sincerely for letting us come up this weekend, besides Chelsea's exam studying, I forgot to realize at the time my son had a high school baseball tournament this coming weekend, which would have made it really hard to come up this coming weekend.

We would have liked had a chance to meet you, Christina as well. Your daughter and son were very polite and your daughter was very helpful with us and made it easier for Chelsea to decide on one of the puppies, it was hard  for us to leave the other 3 puppies behind, but hope you find them a wonderful home soon.

Take Care and we will keep you updated with Scarlet.

    Thank you again,
    Mike and Laura Curry

Mickey was adopted by Mia Barr and her son from Charlotte NC!

"Mellow Yellow" was adopted by the DeLaney family ! they came to meet the available pups from Willmington , and had specified him as one of their favorites !

"Alex" was adoted by the Toher family he will be a  early

birthday suprise for mom's bday on the 31st ~!

     " Hey Christina,
Thanks you for our new family member!  Mom has decided to call him Mickey.  He had a GREAT first night.  Mickey did not cry at all.  We gave him three toys and he picked up each one and carried them into his crate!!  He goes in all by himself whenever he is tired.  He met two dogs today and he played and played.  My sisters dog tolerated Mickey but I know they will become friends soon.  Thanks again, and I know we will see you  within the year.
    The Tohers "

"Azure" has joined the Riddell family!

     " Hello MIss C,
Azur made it to Oklahoma City as scheduled, about 10:30p.m. He is a beautiful puppy! My boys were so excited, tired, but excited! I will send pics as soon as they get finished uploading to my computer. He sniffed us out and then started wagging his tail and licking "

Every year around this time folks tell us finding a beagle puppy gets harder and harder since most local breeders are hunting enthusiasts and their dogs are kenneled outdoors in cages raising puppies isnt easy in the colder weather and litters can be lost due to freezes here at night.

our waiting lines grow for winter pups since ours are raised inside where its nice and warm and our whelping areas are heated above with heat lamps and below with plastic heating pads made to keep the newborns a constant temperature when its so crucial to life !

here a Sunshine Beagle mom is raising her litter in our home office whelping room with the best treats and food right at hand to keep her producing good nutrition for her little ones to grow up strong and healthy and make the best possible new family members we can here!

Martini was adopted today by the Chewnings from Roanoke VA!

Tootsie's Tri mini girl and boy were also adopted Sat. by a family

who came up from Georgia to get her... and decided on a

sibbling pair once they met him !

Allie had her rare colored litter of 8 beautiful chocolate babies !

they are doing great she is an awesome mom

and we love her so much  !

Boxes from the claimed puppies' families are starting to arrive for the cute puppies and their sweet mommies to enjoy !

we love seeing how involved folks already are in the raising of their little ones, and really appreciate those who help us in our efforts to give the younsters and their moms treats , and petsmart gift cards etc. so we can nourish their growing new family member with the all the best!

thanks to those who send us their Puppy's Care Package ahead of time so pup and littermates can enjoy treats and toys and beds and blankets here before their new family member heads home with them so they have a familiar toy and blanket etc once they are in a new place

If you spot an available puppy below in the lineup of currently avail. ones youd like to come out to meet and adopt let us hear from you with a subject line that says Ready to Adopt .................... so we go right to your email and get an appt time set up to come out to Monroe.  Please include your home and family details we like to review for approvals so we can give your potential home a thumbs up and get the ball rolling to let you bring home your very own Sunshine Acres Beagle puppy.

Many of the currently available babies have had ALL their shots in the series and wormings done for you already saving a considerable amount of time and money for you and some are old enough to skip to crate training now making things go faster towards having your new buddy housebroken before cooler weather sets in , and the two of you can enjoy nice evenings together by the fireplace or on the couch watching tv this Fall  and Winter !

whenever we have newborns they come first..years ago I learned the hard way when I took a call and came back to find two new babes unable to get out from under a groggy momie ... don't leave um unattended to do emails anymore.. its just not worth it.. they are first priority !!

customer contact has to come second in importance at this stage...

those who undestand that are our future homes... those that demand attention ... get a good luck with finding a puppy elsewhere email when we have time...

Truely when we see a subject in the email that says anything approaching inpatience with us getting back to someone... we figure that person doesnt have the patience we look for in our future adoptees .  We look for those who show us we will always have a good relationship and happy experiences with them !  And there are plenty of those to find great loving homes for our little babies with, our job is to ferret out who is best suited to each and every beagle puppy we raise for someone unique to enjoy! We recently had a family say we wrote and hoped to hear back about adopting  your puppies .. when we didnt , we thought did we say something wrong in our email , what didnt we tell them they are hoping to hear about a great home for one of their puppies.. so we wrote again and included our previous email .. still didnt hear back... christi must have been busy with school or web updates or sending a puppy by air line.. etc. so we tried again and low and behold Miss C. had a break and noticed us and wrote back.. the wife said I ran thru the house and woke everyone up in the middle of the night and said We heard back its a
Thumbs Up ! from Miss C. she has approved our home for one of their beagle puppies !! we got up and had a midnight snack as a family and talked with purpose about what we needed to be doing to ready our selves and our home for one of the Upcoming litters darling babies !

From then on the kids were helpful when I asked for their input or help picking up toys and preping our home for the new family member.. it was a great thing to see our children so team oriented to prove they would help with their new best friends arrival.!

Taking care of each one of our family raised puppies is our first priority, (& all our sunshine acres beagles!). I greatly appreciate everyone's patience & understanding that a majority of my time spent here at home is devoted to our sweeties & hand raising each of our sunshine acres puppies with all the TLC they need!

We like for our puppies to go into considerate homes & families, so I ask to see everyone demonstrate their understanding and patience by respecting the fact that we have to spend most of our time committed to our beagles, puppies, & responsibilities here.  When we are able to find a stopping point, we work on website updates offline- such as uploading & organizing our zillions of adorable beagle photos onto the computer, updating & editing the website so that when we're able to go online & publish again, our many many followers across the nation will simultaneously see our updates about what's currently going on here.    These webupdates hopefully answer everyone's common questions,  and then we can proceed to focus on our individual emails. I try to check emails most days, but sometimes days go by without time to get online.

Whenever I am at home, I'm usually either taking care of the little ones, taking pics, working on the website for everyone's benefit, etc, while my mom Miss Christina is usually tending to newborns or other important responsibilities around here! I also try my best to help answer  emails. This is at time when I've take care of everything else, and have found a moment to sit down, review potentional homes, perhaps discuss consideration with my mom, and compose a reply (hopefully with getting interrupted! lol but sometimes I do need to do something else, and come back to finish later).  Of course depending on the nature of the request, we may need to get back to some emails before others. Usually when we see an email from one of our families who has claimed one of our current puppies, (especially those going home soonest), I generally try to give those emails priority when we're online.

If a few days go by and you haven't received a reply, do feel free to be kindly persistent in reminding us of your family to make sure we didn't miss your interest.

We really appreciate your patience, persistence, and kindness when emailing us about potentially adopting one of our babies, its especially appreciated after those late nights caring for newborns & early coffee-mornings around here !

.:Email Hint:. Specific Subject lines capturing the main idea of your interest is always helpful when I find myself up late one night, staring & blinking at a full inbox of unread queries! lol . (such as your preferences, specific puppies you're interested in, or the timeframe you are looking for. etc) This helps me better remember your  wishes, so that I can try to piece together everyone's desires, and get back to you all sooner as I see good matches for our pups !

    Thanks!
    -Christi :)

Devoting our attention to our beagle puppies is our priority, and is more important than making sales. We apologize for missing emails from time to time, and we hope everyone understands that patience & consitency is required to raise your new indoor puppy.

Our Beagles have the best of both worlds someone told me, they get time indoors with our Family and raising their puppies

getting spoiled with cooked chicken, brown rice, and other homecooked meats /cheese and eggs for their young ones benefit ..

it all adds up to the cutest possible beagle housepet puppies she said she'd been hooked for 3yrs looking at our adorable puppies before she was able to bring her own home ,but that in that time she saw first hand how we raise our pups and make sure each goes home with a great family who will stay in touch with us and keep us included in ther puppies future often bringing them back for us to watch for them in our home , and hang out with once again !

We were tickled pink to hear that Peg Pike and the Alwit kids wanted to know if they flew "Star" home to us when they vacationed would that be ok rather than have her stay in a kennel environment up in Boston..

we told her of course .. we watched a boy went sent to an Atlanta professional couple while they went to work in Paris for a month !

He had a job there and she made the easy drive up from Atlanta to us and flew out of Charlotte  Douglas International Airport .

We are so lucky to see our babies again and keep them safe with us in their very First home !

Above Playful "Midnight"  hangs out with us as she gradually weans her puppies , then gets to go out onto our acreage property to run ontop of the fallen logs we intentionally lay for them to play with one another on... smaller beagles like these love getting on top of something that makes them taller so they can see more ! One of our frequent boarders we love to watch "Macy" from Hickory was raised with a nice Kitty and thinks its ok to lay on the back of our couch just like they do at her home !  Darling Macy was a puppy by now ready to retire " Sylvia ", like her mom she is a silver mini and just the right size for her mom to carry around !  Our land is slightly hilly in some areas we are ontop of the end of our driveway and have some of the biggest Hardwood trees your likely to have seen ...it gives our mom's something else to think of while they get used to not mothering and the puppies get used to drinking water , and eating dry food , rather than thinking of mom's portable milk machine...LOL..!  We get them over that well before they go into a new home so that they spend more time learning from their new family members rather than missing their old ones.. we used to let folks take them from mom and boy there is a difference in that separation and doing it here with other littermates at first then learning to sleep alone and finally going into their adoptive home and looking to conect with their new pack !

    Brandy's Current puppies

these pups are sweeties , not super outgoing or needy,

     just a nice gentle nature

that learns to trust, and love dearly .

We think they will be alot like their older brother "Kona" our repeat frequent boarder who's family lives in nearby Waxhaw NC.

he has proven to be a trusted family member , and his dad told us recently when he learned the Invisible Fence ( which we endorse )

he was such a happy camper being able to enjoy the outdoors more with the family and neighborhood kids .  He like all our line of Beagles he was easiliy trained on the system, and loves it !!   Dan told us he even likes to play with the boy across the street from their house who gets his remote controlled car out to play on nice days in the neighborhood, and Kona loves running and playing along from his side of the street too !

Puppy pictures from Brandy's Past Puppies

     " Hello everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know we have had Birdie in our family for one week and we couldn't be any happier!!!  She is beautiful, sweet, loving, smart, and obedient!!  What a package!!    Christi, it was so nice meeting you!  You did a great job informing us about our puppy! Ms C, I hate we didn't get a chance to meet you, but your son's graduation is a wonderful milestone- congratulations Cody!!!!  Birdie went to the vet today for her first well check up included in the puppy package our vet offers, and everybody had to visit with her and love on her!  She accepted it all graciously!!  She now weighs 2.6 lbs.!!  She cried the first two nights, but now she sleeps all night long.  She has even cried at the back door twice to go "hurry up"!!  Thank you so much for everything!  I will send pictures soon, James took my camera to Puerto Rico, so all my pictures are on my cell phone!  Thanks again,
                              Cheryl White "

chocolate Kona hanging out with Christi and Jake

Chocolate "Kona" came back to board with us while his family traveled! We were so happy to see this sweetie again!

They actually kept the name Kona we had given him which was so cool! Sometimes folks do keep the names we pick out, but if you want to change your puppy's name that is perfectly fine- with consistence they can certainly learn the new name you pick out! We just like to name them for our own identifying purposes and when discussing them with families it makes it easier to know them by name. Families who claim newborns often let us know their name ahead of time, and then we can start calling them that!

Going back home to his family!

Hello to all.  Have been meaning to write for so long.  Jack aka Joey..is the sweetest..brightest most fun little fella.

He has brought great joy to our lives..truly.  We are like brand new parents...proud parents.  Thanks so much for the opportunity to raise one of your dogs!  Will send pictures when I get a really great one.

    "Hi Christina,

I just wanted to quickly write you a note and thank you for being such a wonderful and caring beagle breeder.  My little Lucy (also known as Amber at Sunshine Acres) is doing great.  She is already starting to figure out the going outside thing and I’ve got her crate and a gate set up in my kitchen.  We goof around and play a lot. I think we’re already playing ‘catch’.  She saw her reflection in the French doors in my kitchen yesterday and let out a nice howl!  What a sweetheart.  She’s already melted the hearts of my friends, family, and neighbors.  I do already notice a big difference in her coat.

When we left your house Friday, we stopped off on Waxhaw as your website  recommended.  We had lunch at the Southsiders Deli (excellent!) and let Lucy/Amber sniff around before heading south.  We also stopped her on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC so she got to see some new sites as well.

I was so impressed by your dedication and your enthusiasm for what you do…You gave me invaluable advice which should make things go a lot smoother.  Thanks so much!!  I will send you pictures soon and look forward to keeping in touch.  Thanks again, Lynsley Tyler"

and we wrote back to her...

thanks so much for such a wonderful update on your new best friend !
you have made my day !
I was pleased to hear you have seen there is a difference in the coat too... always nice to get feedback on this breeding we are doing for indoor doggies !
do let us know if as an adult it is any different as well from your last dogs fur.. and how...
thickness,   length, scent to it,  or not.. etc.would be wonderful to add to the site,
especially for those folks who want a dog on the furniture with them and so on.... to hear testimonials so to speak not just me saying it on the internet... that they shed less.
no one else out there seems to be attempting to work on it but i think its worth the effort to keep some from adults who are good dogs with better coats ... i am keeping her sister with very little white.. we sort of tend to think the white is more what comes out if any ... when they do shed seasonally etc. but i would like to hear your experience with it when shes older if you would ...check back in when shes 6 mo.or a year old... and let us know your thoughts on if there is a difference...
also please hang onto the little upcs on the back of her food and bisquits etc. by iams and eukanuba that say( proof of purchase) for us and maybe every so often send us a christmas card with a picture of how she looks and we will add it to the christmas wreath the kids and i are trying to make of our puppies out there growning up in so many different cities!
we got word both skittles and autumn arrived safely in nj and calif. boy those girls went in each direction ! travelers !!
thats so neat for us though so folks see an unusual beagle and ask where did ya get it ...
glad she is enjoying meeting folks and making friends .thanks for the references to the town of waxhaw too. i think its such a cute place and so close by folks would enjoy it !
if you ever find you want another one    or know anyone who loves her and wants one just let us know !
    miss c and kiddos

she wrote to us right after the Westminster this year was won by a beagle...

" I hope you are doing well.  I just wanted to let you know that Lucy and I stayed up late last night and watched the Westminister Dog Show.  I was glad to see that Uno, the 15 inch beagle won!!!  Finally!!!  I was so afraid those goofy poodles were going to win as they usually do.  Let’s hear it for the beagles.  I don’t think Uno has anything in the cuteness department though on my little Lucy!!  Hope all is well—I’m sure this publicity can’t hurt business!!!! After reading through our website and learning all about our family's mission in hand raising baby beagles for approved pet homes,  once you too have decided that you will ultimately want to raise your very own Sunshine Acres Beagle baby into your lifelong companion pet, take the first step by telling us about your household and lifestyle for one of our babies, and ask us about pre-approval for adoption !

As a sunshine acres beagle expectant parent, you may hold your spot on the Waiting List for whenever everything comes together  works out just right for everyone, whether you're already ready, or will be in the near or distant future. We want to see lifelong happy matches, so you are  welcome to be as specific or open to colors , genders, sizes and timeframes, depending on what really matters to you! When we know everything beforehand, we can better focus on your situation and help you find appropriate matches to choose from when the time is right.

The good thing about planning ahead is that you are most likely to be first in line by the time your ready for a puppy to join your household !  That way when the baby beagle that matches you to a Tee comes along and you know it, you can choose to claim your very own Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppy to add to your life!

We first contact our pre-approved families who match these current younger babies' color/size/gender & homecoming timeframe, ( if there is anyone matching waiting for one of our hand raised babies ) so that once they are ready to come home & begin bonding they can be all set to join their forever families!  If you currently have any favorites, feel free to let us know. We are considering matches for each of our babies, and since the majority of our current puppies have no waiting list.. and upon approval, it could become your turn next for a darling! Once babies are claimed we can set a homecoming day and time, and forever families can begin preparing for their new puppies to join their households to start the learning, bonding, & adaptation process!

    Introducing Brandy
    Chocolate Female

Available "Bacardi"  what a cutie !!

The Birkshire family has claimed their favorite little girl they plan to name her Annabelle !

    Hello,

I can't begin to tell you how excited we are, we'll be going shopping tonight or tomorrow to start getting ready for her, since I'll be flying up to Maine on Thursday and will be there for the next three weeks. I'll be making a list from the suggested items on your website, but I wanted to get a stuffed toy to send to her so she'll have something familiar with her when we bring her home and I was wondering if there was anything else you would recommend sending now. Biscuits or anything else for her to enjoy. We will be getting back from Maine on January first, so I don't think we'll be able to come pick her up until the 7th or 8...as hard as it will be to wait!!! I think we're going to call her Annabelle, a face that sweet needs a name that's just as sweet to go along with it :) Anyway, if you could just let me know what I can send that would be great, along with any other information that we need to know, of course. Again, thank you so much, we are absolutely thrilled!!!

Eve hangs out inside at Christmas time as her puppies wean and she jumps in to visit them less and less

"Hi Ms. Christina, I noticed that Eve just had another litter and I just thought Id update you on one of her babies from her previous litter!

Snicket is almost 7 months old now and she is doing so well! She has learned a few tricks like sit, laydown, roll over, and high five! She learned them all in just a few minutes too, shes a very smart little girl. The last time I took her in for a vet visit the vet asked where I got her and said that you all make really great pets! She is as healthy as a horse too! I have never had a puppy quite like her. She is such a cuddler and always wants to be close to me (she is currently snoozing under my knees while I write this!) and we love to take naps together! But she loves to play too and is always ready to go play with her friends at the dog park, but of course, she has to make the rounds with all the people before she says hello to the other dogs. She is so friendly Im glad I wasnt in the market for a watchdog (although she does like to bark at the dogs on tv)!!

Everyone who meets her comments to me about how beautiful she is and how luxurious her coat is. When I tell people she is nearly full grown at 15 pounds I always get oohs and ahhs at her perfect little size :) She is happy, healthy, and such a lover! She just loves to give kisses and loves to be held. I have never seen another dog that relishes being held the way she does!

Thanks so much for my perfect little pet!

    Kristi Hewitt and Snicket"

    Hi Miss Christina,
I wanted to give you an update on Ginger.  (She was a gift from Santa for our 2 boys in Harrisburg NC).   We were able to pull off the surprise for the kids, she was tucked away under the tree (fast asleep) on Christmas morning.  Everyone in the house immediately fell in love with her!
We have had her for over 5 months now and she is a wonderful addition to our family.  She is house-trained and crate trained.  We have Contain-A-Pet "invisible" fencing in the back yard.  She just LOVES playing outside with the boys.  One of her favorite past times is tossing her toys around the backyard and chasing them.  Of course she loves chasing bugs, birds and chewing on sticks.  We have a wooded area in our backyard and there are quite a few rabbits around.  I cannot help but laugh at the fact that she completely ignores the rabbits!   I have seen them hop within several feet of her and she is oblivious!   (Just confirmation for you that you have successfully created a line of beagles that are NOT rabbit hunters!!)  :)
Ginger starts her obedience training this week at a local kennel.  (We need to work on some basic manners with her, but I have no doubt that she will be a fast learner).
I have to tell you that everywhere I take her people always tell me what a beautiful Beagle she is, and they comment on her great markings.  I proudly tell them that she is a Sunshine Acres puppy!
Lastly, I wanted to ask you about her shedding, I know it's pretty common in beagles, but I wanted to check with you to see if you had any tips on how to reduce the shedding.  She still eats the Eukanuba puppy formula- so I know she is getting the high quality food.  I have heard that you can feed them one cooked egg a week to reduce it, but I wanted to check with you for some recommendations.
I am attaching a few pictures, thanks for this wonderful addition to our family.
    Thanks!!
    Camie Comley

    Reply Note from Miss C:

    hey guys!!!
thats amazing she was fast asleep under the tree.. goodness what  a photo  too cute !!
is that the type of inv. fence you place a unit and it emits a signal in a circle...around the house? and too cool to hear that about the rabbits.. i was just talking to a fellow about rabbit dogs being all the other guys are breeding for around here... wish you could snap a pic of that for the web site woo hoo !!
we had a pup years back that would go camping and they wouldnt even take his leash he would sit near them , well one morning he went down a trail a bit and they watched him .. relieve himself .. turn and a rabbit was right there... they said oh gosh what should we do?? he looked at it and then turned his attention to a butterfly... they laughed so hard ...he was a true disgrace to his breed but a tribute to us working to delete that interest !! ha .
as far as shedding goes the rare colored ones often shed the least.. of course all do have to loose winter coats and summercoats during parts of the year.. but eukanuba is best i have talked to other breeders who swear by it for helping with that due to the omega 3 fish oils in it.. you can use some liquid called..
Natural care vitaderm shed and itch relief... its to go on food and does seem to be beneficial too.. i give grace our salmon skins when we eat it..too!
we are still working on better less shed tri colored coats and have made them shorter in many lines we have but only a few have really equally less shedding fur to the rare colors ...( of course there have to be many ancestors of rare colored beagles in a bloodline so some are better than others... ) not all rare colored ones are as good as others just like with people there are variables to consider..) hopefully right now its just the warmer weather making her loose winter fur...

we are so happy to have made such a wonderful xmas morning for your kids and additon to your family thanks so much for sharing this !!!
    miss c.

He has lost all his puppy fur and now has an unbelievably soft, shiny, coat

    > He likes to be under the covers and on cold nights (it has already snowed

    > I love my little Charlie so much!

"..He has grown into SUCH a handsome boy.  People comment all the time on how good looking he is.  And he just has the best personality...such a lover.  A friend came over who was having a rough time and Charlie seemed to sense in and just gave him nothing but love and snuggles - didn't leave his lap.  Puppy therapy is such a real thing.  Charlie saves on heating bills by keeping my bed warm in the winter ;) and I have reached a new level of hatred for Mondays when I have to go to the office and leave him after a fabulous weekend of fetch and snuggles.  I think of you all so often and cannot begin to express how thankful I am for all you do to raise such incredible dogs.  Charlie has improved my life in countless ways..."

she is always a super mom, happy to take over when needed for any other mom !

she helped raise Graces two kids " Hope" and "Little Man" #2 , Grace unlike most mom's was not too thrilled at the prospect of motherhood and having to spend much time away from Miss Christina's side... much less having to clean the newborns LOL.. so sweetheart Silvia adopted the two pups into her litter at that time and fed and cleaned up after them like they were hers !  This time it was our Nano Saphire who needed her help and wanted nothing to do with mothering ... she was fixed when she had her c-section to deliver them and has been retired to a home close by us where her own mom "Precious" was semi -retired to by Nick and family .. he bought Saphire for his mom's birthday and she is now a spoiled little lap dog ! Silvia raised up her two tri boys and they are just like hers now fat and happy campers !

because she is such an exceptional momie we are considering keeping one or both of the khaki girlies to keep her line going here at present.

He has completely surpassed our expectations for a new puppy.  You all did a fantastic job raising him!  We really appreciate everything you did for us and we love Asher soooooooooooo much!

Will send more pics as we take them.

    Take Care,

Puppy Adoption Process Overview (Simple Outline for slower internet connections)

Honestly, we don't hurry the process to make a "sale", unlike most any other business out there. We alone decide who we want to have our sweet little babies. Of course after hand raising them in our home, we like to get to know people via e-mailing to be sure they are the type of home and family we hope to find for our sunshine babies.

It just isn't possible to accept phone calls from people all over the nation interested in our pups. We would be interrupted too often to get our work done here- which is so important, as we do all we can to be sure our precious beagles get the best they can get from us.
Therefore, patient people, who know how to nicely remind us of their requests win out in the end...  I figure they would make better parents for my babies anyway in the long run and be happier and better long time customers over the years, staying in touch with us and sending updates and so on...

There are certainly times when caring for the tiniest newborns, or helping to birth a new litter, spending a day at the vet  having  a litter of mini puppies born by emergency c-section, and staying up with the new little ones to care for a groggy mommy is more important than answering e-mails from new customers who seem to be in a hurry to find a pet.

We don't mean to, but there can be days go by that no one has a minute to spare, and others when we catch up on the web site updates and then emailing folks with the answers they are all asking. So, if you don't hear right back from us please don't assume we aren't interested in getting to know your family, home, and what type of puppy you hope to find...

In our line of work, such undertakings as a struggling newbie who needs help nursing every two hours around the clock is the utmost important task of the day... it has to be. as well as the care, feeding, keep cleanly & socialization of the puppies & our own pets is a daily priority.

Usually we have received your email (unless it has gone into spam, which occasionally we have found some that have) but the email may have easily come in with a flood of other inquiries a page or so back, especially if  they've built up by missing days away from the computer, or we may have just not been able to review the details & the many many factors to consider in good matches & discuss it with each other yet to reply to anyone.. I go through the emails as I can, checking those who have claimed their puppy, and our waiting list families first, and then proceed to the Inbox where there are new inquiries and happy family updates! Depending on the nature of your email, if days / week go by without a response, you can feel free to email again- patience & persistence wins out & your kind understanding of our puppy priorities helps us feel more comfortable with devoting our time to helping you once we are able to!
Just re-include the details, so that I will know what your story is if I just hadn't had a chance to open  your previous email.

I judge a lot by how people react in their e-mail contacts, finding the "right" pup should be more important than finding one immediately.. and having to deal with it for the next 10-15 years if it wasn't the "right" beagle !  Unfortunately, impatient people find out too late after they have purchased a puppy elsewhere out of haste, one that grows up to be a hunting dog , not a family member,  from elsewhere.  And every time it runs away to hunt , or bays at the moon... and drives the neighbors crazy all night, sheds long fur all over their furniture year round...has that hound dog odor ours don't have , or whatever traits we have worked years to selectively minimize, or delete, from our bloodline versions of  the breed to make a better house pet companion, they must wish they had slowed down a bit and waited for the Pet  Variety  beagle,  they really wanted,..  from us .

If your family is ready to welcome a new family member home please mention that in your email, to be honest Christi handles almost all the e-mails  she can a day, (and at times we have 20-30 or more a day coming to us hoping to be approved as a good home for one of our babes) she does all this  while still going to school and helping with training and website updates and photography.  Occassionally we get more emails in a day than we can keep up with some may end up on the next page by morning and get overlooked in the new ones we need to respond to .  We prioritize our work and caring for puppies and mom's and dads is our first priority so if we get a chance we try our best to go back and look for old ones now and then.  Christi and Jake spend alot of time working with the pups one on one, so when we are reviewing e-mails if yours was full of unanswered things like whether your yard is fenced in or not, where our baby will be sleeping at first and later on once housetrained etc . things we look for in a initial contact.. well , at times she shakes her head and says its all covered in such detail on the website to help everyone understand, and I have others here who HAVE read our site and do answer our questions. Knowing details upfront makes our job easier when we devote time pouring over all the hopeful homes.. those I answer first since its obvious they did their homework and have made it much easier on me to work with them... we believe those folks will ultimately make the very best new parents to step in and take over training of their new family member so we work with them first.. If we get a new email that simply says .. do you have any beagle puppies available.. if so what are the prices and can you send us pictures of them all... well we figure this person isnt onboard quite yet.. let um read on and in a few days they will write back having answered their questions by seeing all the info is on the site for them and the other kazillion people who want one to learn about.

Ocassionally a great email comes in and we are just tooooo darn sleepy or busy to start a conversation , and it gets away from us and days go by ... if thats you , and we missed yours .. simply resend the inital email along with a new one so its there in front of us again on todays page full .. that way you have passed our patience , but still persistant to get noticed test LOL... It is allllll worth the wait we hear from those who did get noticed and adopt one of our Sunshine Beagles every day !

We have Spring Time Litters !!

recently some folks have emailed to say they were looking to add a pet this summer for the family to enjoy, one mom  said they had decided that rather than spend alot to go out of the country to some tourist trap this year they wanted to bring a new beagle puppy home instead !

we love that idea since this is the best time of Year to spend time outdoors with a new playmate !!

We have litters arriving for those who want a spring or summer puppy to love and train up while the weather is agreeable !

let us know what month(s) you hope to adopt a new companion pet and lets begin the adoption process with your family so this is a memorable Vacation even if your not leaving town this year having a puppy to play with and enjoy could actually be more fun !!

    Your New Puppy

    is Ready-to-Learn-Your-Pack-Life !
So now is the time to lead him through an optimum adaptation, as you successfully Raise a family oriented Beagle Puppy into your lifeong Indoor Companion Pet!

    Beagle Puppy Care
    Over Feeding?
Beagles are known to eat all you give them, so be careful to restrict how much you allow them while they are young, especially for a mini or nano to stay that way. Overfeeding can lead to a stretched stomach, before the body starts adjusting to the amount of food intake, and later a larger beagle than you had hoped for.

Sometimes we get frantic calls from customers who fed more than we reccommended, saying "my puppy's tummy looks bloated" We say "cut back on the amount of food you feed tomorrow in order to feed appropriately to your little baby's size". Remember the food also expands when the puppy drinks water, so don't be surprised if their tummy looks large. A stretched tummy simply means their body was not meant to require that amount of food, and you simply need to cut back next time until their tummy is back to an appropriate size. Usually 1/4 a cup twice a day is the right amount for a new puppy, sometimes less for the smaller sized babies which again, you can always cut back its you see that it was too much. Its been shown that overfeeding a smaller size dog can lead to a larger one , just feed twice daily and carefully to keep a mini mini !!

    Beagle Puppy Training
    Where should my
    new puppy sleep?

The first step to housetraining, Bathtub setup

is setting up your bathtub for the new puppy to stay in when you aren't able to take him outside. Puppies can sleep in your  bath tub at night , with paper on one end and a doggie bed, and toys, on the other so they can use  the paper when you are busy and aren't right with them in their new house, or cant take them outside.

Crate training can come later at around 14 -15 weeks old, and you can follow our advice on doing this easily from our tips page!

By starting them from the time they can walk our puppies are way ahead of the game on housetraining and using paper !

    clarice in playpen setup
Clarice has graduated to a bigger playpen setup area! She has learned to keep her bed clean, and uses the paper for hurry ups.  This setup helps you avoid accidents in your home, and allows you take your puppy outside to begin forming that routine with your schedule.

    Beagle Puppy Training
    HouseTraining?

You can begin taking your puppy outside to a preferred spot in the yard starting their first day home.  You can take them out as often as possible, and begin developing a routine recording how many times they went, and around what time. Avoiding accidents that first week  learning about the new home can be a major advantage in housetraining.  Keep in mind that they will need to "HurryUp" as we call it everytime they eat, drink, wake up from a nap, or play. In order to help avoid accidents, only have your puppy out on the floor when supervised, and if he or she seems to start losing interest in you and begin searching, they are probably looking for a spot to go, usually by finding the scent of a spot that has already been marked as a hurry up spot (which is why avoiding accidents in the first place is good!) When you arent able to supervise your puppy, put them back in their contained safe-area so that they will be able to confidently choose paper rather than bed if they need to go, until further training has been established, and house privleges have been gained.
Crate training is a great idea for everyone involved, whether you plan to use one regularly in the future or just when needed. Getting your pet comfortable with his or her own crate there in your home ahead of time helps give them a good option in the future when you need to go out, have someone new over, or need to travel.

You can start crate training after your pup can start being expected to hold their bladder through the night. After around 14 - 15 weeks or so, older puppies can usually start sleeping in a crate at noght, and you can plan to get up early the next morning those first few days to let them go outside, as they learn your schedule and form working lifelong routines in your home.

    cinder in crate training

You can see older puppies like Cinder who have already started learning about sleeping the crate on our Older pups page here or have been using a doggie door to go out and are past the paper training stage.

Whenever you see your puppy walk into the open crate on their own, reinforce that decision with a "good in your bed" in a good job tone. We gave Cinder a treat in the crate, and she liked the experience of being in there! Teaching your dog a key command is good- our Grace knows "Get in your bed" and will happily go get in her crate whenever we need her to. She was taught this with a positive reinforcement as a growing pup- everytime she came in from outside we would toss a treat into the crate or have one waiting for her and tell her get in your bed, she would get in  and be rewarded with a treat, as well as a Good get in your bed! to reinforce she did good by going into the crate, and would close the door and let her spend a little time in there to dry her feet after coming in the house.

Its helpful to start out in a designated area, with the option of paper down, and then put an open crate in their area. They can begin going into the crate to lay down and relax, and if they still need to use the paper they can go out onto it in case you aren't able to take them out when they need to go- this can help your adjusting puppy learn to gradually sleep in their own crate, but still use the paper outside of the crate if needed. When the paper is dry a few mornings in a row, then you know your puppy can hold his or her bladder through the night and can begin closing the door, and getting up early the next morning to take them out.

Always take them out the same door, so they associate that door with going outside to hurry up, and to the same spot in the yard so they can pick up the scent of where they've gone before, and know what their outside to do! Dogs like to re-mark where they have gone before, so starting a routine of where to go from the beginning is always helpful in building those associations for them to remember for the years to come! When your new dog goes outside to 'hurry up', let them know they did a good hurry up so they will want to repeat that behavior, even on command, in the future- making for a much easier housebreaking and walk-taking experience!

    New Puppy Training Tip:

All puppies go through learning stages as they develop.  Your new sunshine acres beagle puppy will be joining your home attentive to you, his or her human caregiver, and will be ready to begin learning the best way to fit in with your pack for the most fulfilling future. Take advantage of this special adapting time by helping them understand what habits & behaviors within this pack will be most beneficial so that everyone can be happy.

As a pack animal, puppies are seeking out that crucial pack order and strong pack leaders to follow, which will keep them safe throughout whatever comes in the future. Dogs thrive within a pack when the proper protocol is established upfront, by confident, calm and assertive leaders to follow for the years to come. Demonstrate your leadership skills to your new baby Beagle by establishing  the ground rules from day one, and being consistent so that he can fully learn from each experience and move forward.  That assertive communication will bond you and your new k9 addition closer together as they will develop a deep respect for you.  Communicate to your new puppy what behaviors are good and beneficial, and what behaviors are bad and will not be acceptable as a lifelong habit.  By understanding the pack boundaries, they can more easily begin adapting to your household in order live the most harmonious & happy life to their wonderful full potential as your own perfect companion pet  for the many years to enjoy together !

After the ground rules are established, your beagle will have the pridlege of enjoying fewer restrictions in the future and be given the opportunity to live an ultimately much happier life in harmony with your pack.

Be sure to Review our New Puppy Advice Pages (Ask for the link if you've been approved)

     No Biting allowed.

Our Number One Rule in training, Is NEVER ALLOW YOUR NEW PUPPY TO NIBBLE OR BITE ANY FLESH, even what appears to be innocent teething on your finger!    It may not hurt now, but it will later if that experimental behavior is allowed to develop into habit!

When new families come to meet our pups, We ask that No one scrath or tickle the puppies since boundaries are still being established and Do not allow the puppies they hold to nibble or bite their fingers and hands.

Roughousing at a young age encourages biting as an automatic response to the roughhands, and that type of energy can cause the wrong state of mind to develop during such a crucial learning & bonding time. Once your puppy is an established, responsible member of the pack, playing is fine because he already knows the boundaries- its simply important to first guide your young one through puppyhood maintaing a calm state of mind so that they can feel comfortable in being calm whenever appropriate in the future, and you will have a much easier time training, and developing obediance & trust, before the time comes to begin exploring life's adventures with your very own sidekick!

Establishing Respect from day one is important while the new addition is observing the pack order, figuring out the boundaries and how to begin adapting to the new household pack. Help your puppy understand and learn the rules, so that they can move forward in the right direction towards a healthy relationship with your pack and bonding with lifelong masters, so that down the road your canine addition will be a responsible member of the family. By allowing a puppy to teeth on you and bite your fingers- that acceptance of his potential dominance will result in a loss of respect for you by the new k-9 addition to your home. Respecting you as the top dog in the family pack is important, so that they will be more confident in your ability to be a stonger leader for the good of the pack and they can trust your wise discernment therefore minding whatever you -their calm Assertive leader- has to say !

Read about Puppy Guidance, for more about this Puppy Rule on our tips page. If you are a Sunshine Acres Beagle family or on the waiting list, ask for this page for our personal advice!

    Be the Pack Leader
so your puppy can follow your dependable leadership.

As puppies develop, they seek strong masters who are responsible and will show them the best way to live a long healthy & happy lifestyle within the pack. They follow those masters who make the best decisions for the pack as a whole, by being upfront, firm, and consistent on establishing the boundaries and ground rule that will make for a stronger pack down the road.

From their first day home they will begin learning what behaviors seem the most beneficial to their future with your pack, and can adapt to any lifestyle that they begin learning from. This is the time to guide their adaptation so that they can learn the best way to begin fitting in with your unique pack; Be a responsible master for your learning and growing puppy by being in tune with your puppy's state of mind, understanding each situation, responding correctly so that your puppy understands the pack lesson, and can move forward in the right state of mind. The whole family must commit to a responsible instruction plan so that everyone sends the same message and is consistent in the learning process.

It is important for forever families to guide their puppy's adaptation to their unique home & lifestyle, so the puppy can more easily understand that what boundaries this human pack has and that they are firm in those rules for the good of the pack, so now its time for puppy to learn what they need to do to fit in with this strong pack & start living in harmony!

We start them off right, and now its up to you to continue raising your new baby beagle into your lifelong sidekick.  You can lead the way with the benefit of our years of experience raising companion beagle pets.  As an approved pet home who has made that sincere commitment to becoming a sunshine acres family for the years to come, you will have access to our years of experience and accumulated advice, and follow our Guidance in taking over the wonderful responsibility of raising your new hand raised family-oriented sunshine beagle baby, and helping them blossom into your very own unique Companion Pet for years of enjoyable harmony!
