Khaki Minis & Nano!

Sandy is the mommy of "Pixi" khaki nano beagle from
Sandy's last litter a year ago...who went to Karen
Richardson and Jon Rubenstein! Karen told us she was recently
featured in an HP/Palm announcement as the picture printed to the
wireless printer! The Diva is famous!
Sandy's litter has also arrived and hers are khaki nano and mini's
!
tiny cutie !
Khaki Nano "Pixi" flew home with her new mommy
Karen who is the chairman of the Hi5
network and married to Pixi's new daddy
Jon Rubinstein
former senior vice president of Apple's iPod division, and now CEO of
Palm Inc.

Well, can
you believe that we were over 12 hours in transit!! With the 2 hour
car ride, 2+ hours plane delay, 5.5 hour flight and drive home - and
get this -- Pixi slept the WHOLE flight and did not whine once! I
woke her up 3 hours into flight to go piddle on her wee-wee pad which
she did promptly. Then we visited the woman in seat 11A who wanted to
meet her. (She lives near Monroe and has a daughter that wants a dog
- and she grew up with Beagles, so I promptly gave her your card!!!
LOL)
When we came
home - we played wtih Pixi for 1 hour and then put her to sleep. She
went down with no crying and slept for 6 hours!! In fact the only
reason I think she awoke was that I turned up the heat in the Apt and
noise woke her. I bet she would have slept longer.
Now she is
meeting Holly for the first time. Jon just put her on the floor and
she is chasing my 73Llb labrador around the room - Histerical.
I will send
pictures later today! Got some good ones from this AM when we played
.
p.s Thanks
for everything yesterday . I will cherish the day we spent!

Sunshine Acres Happy Family Update on Pixi Khaki Nano Beagle!
Subject: Pixi in
kindergarten
Well - she went to her first day of puppy "kindergarten" with the most
excellent dog trainer to the "stars" - Mike Wombacher.
She was the hit of the class !! Mike (trainer) said in
over 16 years and 20,000 hours of training he has never seen a nano
beagle!!! He was impressed.
And his wife has met Pixi last week when i had her to the house for an
"assessment" -- she loves Pixi!!
So cute and she did really well -- and we had 1 other small dog in the
group -- so that is who she played with in "socialization time".
Along with the cutest and most docile HUGE bernese mountain dog!!
I was very proud of our little girl. And we got a cute outfit for
her -- I have a picture I will email you of her in her new designer
harness and leash!!
She is sleeping 9 hours per night with no widdles. Amazing!!
We are going to go to Tue puppy "mutt-tini" night at the local puppy day
care .....Its a Tue night soclal with wine and cheese for adults and
puppy play groups -- and a special group for tiny dogs. I hope to
get a reservation for next Tue night. Will send pictures if i can
get into it.....
karen and the gang...

i have one in pink too!
and the leash is pink with cupcakes on it .........
i cant wait
to send you a picture of her in her pink
cashmere sweater.!
these come
from one of the local , yuppy pet stores - where her kindergarten
classes are held!
the picture
is great - she is an awesome photographer.

"Hey guys!!
We are sending hugs and licks to you
from
Mexico. I am way overdue to
send you recent photos of Pixi. She is doing great -- and cute
as ever.
I am copying our good friend Vanessa
on this email. She and her husband live in LA and also are next
door to us here in Punta Mita Mexico. She is a huge dog
person, and like me, no longer has her 2 beloved labradors. She
met Pixi last night and LOVED HER.
So she may be in the market for a
nano beagle cutie some day!! (i gave her your website link so she
could explore) Certainly any pup adopted by the
Helfet's would have an equally "diva lifestyle" to our little
girl!!
Best

We all wish you a very Happy New Year at Sunshine Acres!!

Karen referred her friends Alex & Janine who met
Pixi to our family!
Miss CHristina!
>> Alex is a great friend and
work-mate who has met and admired Pixi from the start!!!
>> They would love a nano beagle from
Sunshine
acres and I suggested Coral!!
>> Can you help????? I can totally
vouch for them as great dog owners
>> and folks
that will give another "diva" a great life in sunny SF!!!
>> Since he
and his girlfriend both work full time - i thought a slightly
>>
older girl might be better - like Coral ....
>> karen
(Email from Janine sent to Miss C, Karen and Janine's husband
Alex)
" Karen, Thank you so much for
the kind referral! Alex really does adore Pixi and is very
excited to add a nano to our family. Thank you for connecting us
with Christina. Perhaps we will have sister dogs some day soon
:) >
Christina, Allow me to tell you a little more about our family
and home. We relocated down to the SF area last summer and have
finally settled in and are in a good place to add a dog to our
pack..."
Alex and Janine later flew out to our home to meet our family
and adopt their very own khaki sibling pair "Coral and Dockers"
by Jessie, now
"Ginger & Deckers" !
07/16/2011 From Karen: "I will see Alex in 2 weeks and
ask about his pups -- we are suppose to get together later
this summer at beach and ill take pics of all 3 and send to
you!!"

We began making plans for the
girls' homecoming and they booked their flight home through Continental
and had them home in time for their week home from school! They were able to
purchase our new crate, bed, and travel kit which we keep on hand here
for moments like these, and prepaid via paypal so that we could take the
girls to the vet for them for their health certifications and letters of
acclimation to fly out of state, and check the girls into Continental
for their flight home.
 _small.JPG) _small.JPG)
Since we started this process my
kids have been made to take care of two stuffed doggies as if they were
real. They walk them feed them and clean up their poopies. How funny!!!
We have our puppy rules posted in the kitchen. My kids know to follow my
lead and if you ever met my 150 pound great Dane you would be impressed
about how well trained she was. She never even walked out the door
before allowing me to go first. She was my pride and joy. She was the
first dog I had ever raised from a pup and I think I did a fine job. The
kids were able to stick their hands in her bowl while she was eating.
Pat pat on my back ;) ha ha ha!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of our
hearts for making this so special and for allowing us to have them this
week. It's going to be an incredible bonding time. Gonna call
continental now and I'll get back to you and I'm gonna send the payment
now. Our solid head girlie will be called Sandy and our blaze girlie
will be called Sadie. Just let me know those weights so I can call.
Thank you sooooo much!!

Chyrise sent updates!!
I can't find any words to
describe these baby girls. The pictures don't do them any justice at all
they have an outstanding color. I didn't imagine they would be so tiny.
The wait was so worth it. I'm glad we were patient even though it was a
very hard thing to do. Thank you for giving us this spectacular
experience. All our appreciation for all you do --- the brown family

Hey you guys,
I needed to take the time to tell you that your girls slept for 5 hours.
They woke up and cried a little. I gave them some lovin(ok lots). They
did peepers and then back off to sleep. I absolutely did NOT expect that
I would actually get some sleep. Everyone that looks through your web
pages needs to know that these babies are so much more then a photo
allows. Their color is not just " khaki" like the pants. It's like
lilac. It's so beautiful. And it's the softest coat we have ever felt on
a dog. My kids said that when they took them out of the crate at the
airport a crowd gathered around them. In fact the woman who was awaiting
her Labrador wanted our baby girls instead. Haha! This was one of the
greatest decisions we ever made. I'm so happy we got two babies. It's
amazing how you guys just know how everything will work out. I can't
believe we finally have sunshine beagle pups. Now I can take a break
from checking my emails obsessively ;). I still can't get away from that
website though. I have a feeling that when people see them you guys are
going to be shipping a lot of pups to New
York. Speaking of which
my girlfriend Lynn called me in a frenzy last night needing to know
everything I could tell her about the whole experience because she had
just sent you guys an email requesting to be an approved family(the
McCandlesses). I turned her onto your site a few weeks ago and she's
been hooked ever since. She asked me about sandys nano baby and I told
her that she's very popular. We had even asked about her ourselves. I
can't imagine how small she is as a nano based on how small our girlies
are. I didn't expect them to be so teenie tiny. The pics make them look
big! They are cuddling together right now. So glad they have eachother.
Well I won't take anymore of your time. I will let you breathe for a
while ;). I just needed to once again express my gratitude for breeding
such magnificently beautiful and well behaved puppies. So glad we didn't
settle for the pet store ;). You guys rock!!!!!!!!!! --chyrise

Hey sunshine gang,
We thought you would enjoy some pictures of your girls. They are doing
incredible!!! It has been less than a week and they are sleeping through
the night. 9 hours straight!!!! Can you believe it? They wake every
morning at 7:30 and are eager to get going with breakfast and playing
with the family. They have definitely identified me as their momma and
cry every time they see me. They just want me to love them. It is soooo
cute. They have adjusted so quickly. They have completely exceeded our expections
in every way! Thank You again for allowing them to be a part of our
family.
P.S
we bought them a big pink kiddie
pool that has plenty of room in it so that they can run around and play
but without the ability to have free range of the house. It is working
perfectly because the kids can sit in there too without the worry of
them breaking free. We even put their paper in there and they stop what
they are doing and go potty. They are so behaved!!!!What a delight!
Enjoy the pics
and we will be in touch,

Sunshine Acres Happy Family Update on Charlotte Khaki Mini Beagle!
Hello Miss Christina,
Hope all is well at
Sunshine
Acres!
We thought we'd send you a quick update and some photos of
Charlotte, who is now a very playful 5 month old!
She is fantastic! She's been doing well learning her good
manners, and we've been going for walks on leash. She
is the friendliest pup, and has such a love for life. She
turns heads wherever we go.
And, she might be the fastest beagle ever born. She can
tuck her rear under her, and just go!
She runs circles around the children, and they love it.
Also, she is so incredibly suggleful. When you hold her,
she always hugs you around the neck with her chin and
neck. They are the sweetest hugs.
We still can't believe how small she is. We always thought
our beagle Andy was a small one, but she is less that 1/2
his height! So petite and perfect. And her color!! I never
knew that I would be so in love with khaki's! She's so
soft and so beautiful...well I guess you know all about
that! :)
Anyway, thank you again for giving us the perfect addition
to our family.
Sincerely,
The Lagasse's: Lance, Valerie, Ryan, and
Troy

Maggie Mae Maddin!
_small.jpg) _small.jpg)
Khaki Maggie Mae by Sandy flew home with Candace to Las Vegas!
_small.jpg) _small.jpg)
_small.jpg) _small.jpg)
_small.jpg) _small.jpg)
Maggie Mae joined Jimmy & Candace from Las Vegas!
Jimmy owns a resturaunt there in Las Vegas Hotel
California and Cantina! Candace said if we’re ever in Las Vegas, we know
where to go, and they would get us in over at the restaurant and hook us
up with places around the area. Hopefully a courier trip will lead us to
the West in the future, and we can visit MaggieMae and her wonderful family
there in Las Vegas (maybe when Candace gets her second)!
_small.jpg) _small.jpg) _SMALL.jpg)
Candace also heads Create A Change Now, planting
edible gardens and working with world-class chefs to bring nutrition to
children. The nonprofit organization is literally planting seeds for a
healthier generation through organic gardens maintained at schools in the
Las Vegas area, and is cultivating an appreciation for the reality of true
substance as children grow their own natural food, and are shown how to
cook it up healthy and delicious through positive role models.
This community project is intended to bring nutrition
education back into our schools. With all the cuts recently, education has
been on the chopping block, said Candace, and nutrition has been one of
the curriculums dropped from classroom culture.
The value of nutrition is a fundamental reality that
is most important for children to understand now, as they form healthy
decision making that will effect the rest of their lives. As a community,
we must recognize the value of nutrition in shaping our lives for a
healthier tomorrow, so that we may truly live a wholesome life. As society
grows, lets not forget the essentials that make us who we are, and the
healthy choices that promote life, not only for ourselves, but for the
fruitfulness of our children as well.
One day we may be able to get something started here
in the Charlotte area!

Christi and Jake met with Candace at the airport to
help her welcome home her new baby Maggie Mae aka Sierra!

Maggie Mae meets Candace!

Ready to fly home!
"Ms. Christina, Christi and
Jake ~
We both arrived in Las
Vegas, an hour late, but with no issues whatsoever! She was an
absolute doll and never let out a peep! Once we arrived back at the
home, it was late, but Tiffany Jimmy and I sat up while she
entertained us for several hours. She then went right in her crate
next to our bed and slept the whole night. The names we had were to
keep her' Sierra' or change it to Maggie Mae. We were waiting to meet
her and then decide. Well, she is definitely our Maggie Mae! I wish
you could have seen the joy on Jimmy's and Tiffany's faces!!! I
personally, haven't wiped the smile off my face yet! I hope you all
know how much we look forward to a lifetime with her filled with much
joy, spoiling and companionship! Jimmy and I have played with her all
morning now, she went down for a nice nap, we played some more and is
now doing quiet time in a restricted area right next to me while I
type. What a delight she is!!!!
We will stay in touch as
promised! We go introduce her to Dr. Yach this afternoon - the whole
office is excited to meet her!
With much love & licks!
Candace, Jimmy and Maggie!"

"She is just a doll! We are
having so much fun with her. Jimmy doesn't even want to go to the
restaurant any more. Just wants to stay home with her and I! She is just
the sweetest!! I have a new toy and blankie that will be mailed off to
you - I really think that helped having a blanket and toy to send her
home on the plane with. She sleeps all night long and is doing just
great. She has a personality to die for!!! I will send off some photos
soon. I did post one on your facebook site. More later . . .Hello to
all!
Candace"

"Ms. C and Christi~
Quote me on this:
Oh My Gosh! We couldn't have
been matched any better with our new wonderful little girl, Maggie Mae!
Our 4 month Khaki Mini girl was the perfect match for Jimmy and I. It
was a bit unnerving adopting a puppy sight unseen and from photos on a
website. But knowing Ms. C and Christi read about our family in our
letter for consideration, we place our trust in their knowledge of their
babies and matching us up and boy, did they do well!!! Not only is
Maggie adorable, but she is a smart cookie too! She entertains us all
day until we are laughing in stitches, cuddles with us at night until
it's lights out and crate time and is excelling in her positive
reinforcement training sessions. I hope you both know how happy this
family is with our new addition and we look forward to sharing her
growing years with you!

Sunshine Acres Happy Family Update on Maggie Mae Khaki Mini Beagle!
10/10/2011
Dear Miss Christina and
Christi,
Wanted to let you know our little Maggie Mae was spayed last week
and is doing great. She had to have her two upper K-9's extracted
as the baby teeth did not fall out. She now weighs 12.5 lbs. We
have one question for you:
Are all your pups as adorable
and loving as Maggie?? I keep telling Jimmy that if he
could sell this restaurant, we'll move back east and buy several
acres and just raise a half a dozen more minis! Honestly, she has
brought us so much joy and happiness and is the best addition to
our lives. I think she would tell you she's pretty happy with us,
too! We couldn't love her any more. Jimmy's favorite time of the
day is when we get in bed and she cuddles up on his pillow above
his head. He always goes to sleep with a smile on his face!
Hope you are well and happy!!! If you
ever got to
Las Vegas, CALL US!
Love & Licks ~
Candace & Jimmy Maddin
p.s. Christi - visit my website (www.createachangenow.org)
and see the gardens we've put in schools. We are currently working
with a school called
Whitney Elementary.
The principal Sherri Gahn was just featured on the Ellen DeGeneres
show as 86% of the kids are homeless!
