Dear Miss Christina & Christi,
>To write this note to you is a hopefully the start of dreams coming true.
Let me first say that I have been visiting your website for the past three
months. Alone, I’ve spent hours reading and clicking on the pictures and
also with my husband Tom. I am impressed with not only the thoroughness of
your information, but the ease of realizing the strength of your
convictions right off the pages. Kudos to you for knowing yourself and how
you want your livelihood organized!
>My name is Christy, and I am a stay at home mother of two children. Megan
is 10, and Matthew, is 6. My husband Tom is my high school sweetheart that
I have been happily married to for 20 years this June. We are originally
from Ormond Beach, Florida, but we’ve lived in Danville, Pennsylvania for
the past 6 years after a quick year in Winston-Salem, NC. My husband is an
Emergency Medicine Physician and the Director of The EM Residency Program
here at Geisinger Medical Center. Our small town has a population of 5600.
It’s quite a change from the heavily populated Florida that we grew up in!
>My son Matthew started Kindergarten this year. He is a gentle & loving
boy that still loves being a boy! His teacher passes out weekly behavior
awards and the last one he received was for being a caring & kind friend.
Another child in his class was having some behavior difficulties, and
Matthew offered to sit with him at reading partner time. His teacher sent
me a note thanking me for having such a considerate & thoughtful child!
Not the story that you usually hear from toady’s educators.
>My lovely daughter Megan will be 11 this summer. She is my creative
animal lover. For her 7th birthday, without ANY prompting from us, she
asked her birthday party guests to bring donations to our local no-kill
shelter in lieu of presents for her. All she asked in return is a chance
to play & visit the animals while the grownups unloaded the loot. She has
participated in girl scouts for the last 5 years. This year the girls get
to choose their own badge work. Her choice was to develop games to work at
a dog rescue groups’ carnival. She has taken on the task of being our
resident doggie expert. For the last 3 months, her library trips have
included various how to & reference materials on everything dog!
>And of course there is Tom & I. We had a wonderful dog, Zoey (a certified
mutt) who died three months before Matthew was born. Just after we moved
into our first home, Zoey came to us after being found by a neighbor in a
tied garbage bag in a dumpster – thus the certification of being a
dumpster mutt - J However, when she died, Tom was just getting started in
his job, the hours were long, and I was alone a lot with two small kids.
We were moving again in seven months and we just realized that adopting
another dog right after Zoey passed wouldn’t be fair to anyone. And now
its five years later…our kids are becoming more self sufficient and I have
the time & energy to bring a new family member into our home.
>Tom & I have always had a special fondness for Beagles. Not sure if it
was their spunk, their eyes, or their sweetness, or maybe all three? But
every time we would talk about a beagle, or look up about the breed, the
less desirable hunting traits would jump out at us. We had almost settled
for a cocker spaniel or another house-loving breed when I stumbled onto
your website. What a wonderful thing to find out – other people have the
same thoughts & feelings as we do on the breed! We felt an immediate
kindred sprit with the information that you presented."

" Ms. C & kids,
What a wonderful two days we have had with our new beagle baby! She is all
you claimed she was and more! The first night in the hotel was tough for
her and I will admit to a little extra comfort so that she wouldn't
disturb any other guests. However, the next night at home we did just as
you instructed and let her comfort herself. The second night, she only
whimpered 10 minutes at 10pm before settling down. She did not make a peep
until I came to get her at 6:30am. A couple of wee-wee spots on the puppy
pad -not in her bed at all! Tonight, I'm sure she will improve yet again!
I just have to say again the difference between our pup's "hand raising"
and the other new puppy stories out there. She wakes up, scampers to the
pad, then sits and looks for you to pick her up for play time. We have
taken her outside to our yard a few times (where no other dogs have ever
been) and she loves it! Nose up, tail up, acting like such a big girl
patrolling the yard.
I've attached a few homecoming
pics
for you to enjoy!
All our best to you, the kids & the other babies waiting for their forever
home!
