"Oh, I'm so glad Charlie found a home!" We receive emails all the time from past customers and website-viewers, telling us that they still watch the site to see who gets what puppy, even if they've already gotten their own baby beagle from us. Here you can see the stories of our happy families from 2007.

Precious' Litter

of 6 Boys is sold

got my paws crossed !

As a Newborn..

Precious' Chocolate male

I had been emailing back and forth with a family from Mich. to get to know what they were hoping for in a family pet..

when they saw the new pictures daughter Christi took and added to the web site they e-mailed right away to say the deposit check was on the way !!  He was just what they wanted and they had a baby sitter lined up so they could drive down to pick him up from the  Grand Rapids area,  and have a little get away for True Love Day at the same time without the kids !!

People drive to come pick up their new Beagle Puppy from Sunshine Acres Beagles from all over the nation, some have even flown in from California and Fla. just long enough to rent a car  to come pick up their new baby and take it home with them... we think that is such a compliment to our efforts to develop Pet only puppies while other breeders are concentrating on the show ring or the field trails, or hunting abilities we have found our niche in house pet variety beagle puppies,  and Love it !!

they were totally pleased with their little chocolate boy and said it was well worth the 13 hr. drive to come pick him up from us , they loved how calm and gorgeous he was.. and loved the fact that he was hand  raised by our family .

 They sent pictures!

one of the tri males has a deposit to hold him by a Charlotte family. Mom contacted us before Christmas and said they were going away and wanted one of the Jan. puppies.  It was a big surprise when she brought her daughters out to pick out a puppy from the 3 tri colored males !

when she first contacted us we didn't have any males left so they waited till after xmas to come choose one when we did have boys available !

they picked the one with the narrow blaze on his face ,

(bonding at an early age is really special)

Louie's new mom and dad recently  came to visit him ...

and just couldn't put him down..

so they went ahead and took him home ... !!

Now they get to surprise the kids again !

the most rare colors get snapped up quick as they are born.

especially popular are puppies with neat designs on their backs like this guy !

love his circle of silver !! the khaki boy has um too !

"Elvis"

the silver male mini sized runt . He has the cutest heart shape on his forehead !

the runt flew out to live in  Pembroke Pines,   Florida.

"Elvis is doing wonderful! He is so beautiful!! We can't take him anywhere that we aren't mobbed by people saying "Oh, he is so cute. Where did you get him? and taking many pictures. Speaking of pictures some will be coming your way soon. My sister couldn't believe how smart he was for such a young pup. He sleeps through the night and gets up to go on the puppy pad, then lies back down until its time to get up. Thank you again.

We are very happy with our little Elvis!
Carol"

Littermate "Disney" is on the get two page. He went home with "Walt", from an earlier litter by Abbey.

Littermates Santana & Thunder also went home together. They are on the Get Two page as well.

" Sassafras."
Orange female with wider blaze & some open- marking (white on back)

Megan brings her son to meet the pup they fell in love with online..

perfect match !

In her original email, Megan had expressed an interest in getting a tri color female. We received her deposit on the 10th by check, and waited on the new litters. Once these cuties hit the site, this rare color baby stole her heart, and Megan claimed her!

Here they are picking up Sassafras. 4/21

then the big day arrives and she is all ready to come home to Fayetteville with them !

"Lana"
Runt orange girl is sold to Maria in Georgia who had a deposit down already for a mini rare color female.

their dog Loki has really taken to having a little playmate around now... she wrote to say he even lets her eat and drink from the same bowls he eats from !! and acts protective over her keeping her from harms way... we hear this a lot from folks who already have one pet..

Here is their update!!:

"Hello Miss C and Kids!

We just wanted to send you an update on our precious little Lana.  I am sorry that it had taken so long, but I know that you have your hands full!
(Yes, I admit, I am still addicted to your site)

We wanted to thank you again for our little girl.  She is doing great! Loki and Lana are having a great time together.  He is always looking out for her and comes to her when she cries. They eat and drink out of the same bowl and they play very well together!! We just love her!

Thank you, thank you!

Maria and Charlie"

hello Miss C!
How are you?  Hope you are all doing great!
I just wanted to give you an update on my precious Lana!  We just love her.  I have attached some new pictures for you to see he. She is beautiful!  Everywhere I take her, people stop me to pet her.  She is such a sweet and wonderful dog.  She is 6 months and a whole 18 pounds.    Thank you again for our puppy!
Maria

River
sold to the Lemon family from Tennessee.

( they brought a toy to get familiar scents to take home with them.)

they rubbed it on Grace and Chloie who he played with the most...and let grace sit on his bed for the crate they got him.

people say this helps them adjust to a new home when there are familiar

scents on their toys or blanket, or a bed to sleep on...

River went home with a mom and kids from Clarksville Tenn. who fell in love with him online & wanted him to be their new family member.  Mom told us their last beagle was a rescued one that they knew nothing about its background or what it had been raised like. She would put her nose to the ground and not listen to anyone when she took off on a scent. River would walk with me around the yard off leash all the time and just follow me around.. they were excited to here this after the last dog would run off...

This time she loved meeting us and seeing his mom, and one of her son's. The beagle they had shed so much people would ask if they had cats... She adored his less shedding fur . They said they had been looking at some other puppies but they would jump out of their hands and he was so calm her daughter could easily hold him.  He seemed to feel right at home with them and they all piled in the car with their new pup, and videos going for the trip home to Tenn.

folks find just what they have hoped for in a family pet when its already raised by one !

Its well worth the drive to get one from someone who treats it like you will.

They had originally thought of shipping him, but decided to make a fun family trip out of it.

Dad is away serving the country , so mom loaded the kids and came to get them a new pal in his absence..

we think dad will be pleased with her choice !

he was a Pick of Litter puppy we considered using for breeding so he stayed with us longer while we made our decision on which lemon boy to keep we picked Sylvia's lighter colored boy and have decided to part with sweetie pie "River" now. we often keep several pups while deciding which we simply have to keep..boy is this job rough...!!  choosing !

He has an adorable river running down his back.

he has a great head shape and classic : "copper nose" some cherish in a beagle, saying they make the most loyal dogs for some reason..

here is what we heard from them after the car trip home..

Christina,

Just wanted to send an update on River. We finally arrived back
home yesterday afternoon. River was great in the car. He slept most
of the 2-day drive or sat on my daughter's lap. His first night we were in a
hotel room and I let him sleep with me in the bed since I didn't want him
keeping everyone in the hotel awake! He slept draped across my neck half
the night and burrowed under the covers the other half! Last night (his
first at home) he slept in his crate. He only cried for about 5 minutes and
then started snoring! He has been great in the house. We set up some baby
gates to keep him in the kitchen. He has only had one accident ( my fault,
because I didn't let him out soon enough after he ate). I will send some
pictures when I can get a hold of a digital camera.
We have decided to keep his name River. Yeah!! He is a great
little guy. Very observant. I have been impressed by how he will just sit
down and calmly watch what is going on. He loves falling asleep on laps
and "killing" his stuffed octopus. He is starting to chase a ball too. Thanks
so much for a wonderful puppy!
                   Susan Lemons :-)

Just what the kids and I wanted to hear from them... when one of the puppies we held onto longer (before adding to the website ) to enjoy ourselves ( which is why we breed in the first place to satisfy our puppy fix !! LOL >>>) goes home with someone we know they will love it, we've put our lives into developing great calm, indoor variety beagle puppies, and the ones we consider keeping are the Pick of the Litter so they are extra special to us.

  Trevor  !!

chocolate male

Trevor with Lucy who went to San Fran.

he has a warm & loving nature,  had his shot series completed ,   and is fine with being crated  !

puppyhood pictures!

he  loves to hang out with the kids.
  "Trevor"
very calm boy

he is good in a crate,  or being a couch potato !

what a calm and sweet pup !! picture taken 12/21

We have noticed boys being asked for alot more lately now that people are realizing how much fun they tend to be...

His new family decided a slightly older puppy like Trevor was a good idea for them since he was already ok with being crated, and was able to take the rough and tumble of 3 little boys in the family , and yet still be super snuggly and gentle with their youngest having past the biting age and developed into a sweetheart who even allowed their son to come around while he  chewed up a edible bone and tempt him to run chase the toy instead of finish the treat... just like we say boy puppies tend to want to " please " their owners so much they are alot more fun for families who want to fetch and play with their dog etc.

His new mom called to say they couldnt be happier with him ... he is doing great sleeping in his crate whenever he is asked to and playing so nice and well mannered with the boys... even lets her 5 yr old son calmly walk him around the neighborhood on a leash everyday now !! He has fit right in and we are soooo happy for him !

Abbey's litter!:

  female mini
has found a home!

"BeBe"

Hey Christina
Just wanted to let you know we made it home. We played all afternoon, must have worn her out!!!. She slept like a baby all night long. She couldnt believe the snow the next morning.
Also would like to tell you how well you handled everything. I can't see why anyone would want to go anywhere else for a beagle pup.  You had all the answers and very helpful in getting stated on the right foot. I still look over your web site, so many helpful tiips are there. You should be hearing from my sister soon about one of your pups.
Thanks again
John

that's what we like to hear !!!

super tiny girl tri colored

This couple from Hendersonville Nc. sent us a pay pal deposit online to reserve a tri girl till they could come..
once here they got to see how cute the rare colored pups are & fell for this  cute little chocolate pup
Lots of folks dont realize how pretty the rare colored ones are till they see them in person !

"Maggie in David's bedroom shoe"

Hi Christina,
Just wanted to share a picture of Maggie.  She is loving life and we love having her in our family!  Here she is playing in a Cheerios Box in our den!  She is friendly with everyone and is already "mostly" housebroken.  She is cuddly and loving and very healthy!
Thanks,
Jane & David

too cute!

"Just wanted you to see a new picture of Maggie...our little girl that we bought from you Jan 6th.  She is sitting on my husband David's lap.  She is about 8 pounds now and doing so well !!  David has finished 6 weeks of chemo and radiation and we are so glad that Maggie is in our lives.  She is giving us so much joy !!
Let me know that you get this picture.
Thanks again,
Jane Gurley"

one of the girls went home with this SC. family who contacted us during xmas saying they knew they wanted one of our pups ... and would wait for the right one !

( we just loved their daughter's beagle t-shirt that matched her pup so well !! )

they told us with a decision this big , a new family member that will be with you for   10-15 years...

it is worth being patient and getting one that was developed for a family Pet from us !

.

her coloring is pretty it looks like dark chocolate,  vs the lighter milk chocolate,  color of her sister and brothers.

This couple from Wilmington came to pick out a puppy to join their new family..

they are getting married in Oct. and wanted to start with a puppy .

this boy's family just relocated to Ga. they mailed us a check to hold him till they could come up to NC  to pick him up.

once here they decided they would like to take two and got Ellie to go along with him..

each son had his own puppy to hold and love as they grow up...

" Kayla"

Kayla's new owner moved down from Vt. recently and has some time to spend with her new friend before starting to job hunt in the Charlotte area...

tri male/ mini sized runt is sold. His family drove down from Ohio to come get him over the weekend.

They said it was sure worth the drive to get a Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppy .

we love hearing that !

he is a tiny cutie pie compared to his sibblings..!

Sally and her boyfriend come to pick up their new chocolate boy

she lives in Charlotte and got to come out and choose her baby when he was a newborn, this allows you to bond with a puppy , when it has a chance to get a kiss from its new forever mom even before his eyes are open we feel a puppy imprints to an extent, with the new Mom too, from a very early age ! Neato !!

Plus it allows the new owner to prepare their home and purchase the needed items to bring the new family member home to in a few weeks... we love it when they go to our suggested items page and order them online from our links to Petsmart and Jeffers pet... plus it saves a considerable amount  !!!

(on-line purchases are much less than in store prices !)

keep going on the web site and you will come to our New Family member "Suggested items page" ahead..

ps. we plan to add a link for those of you who have ordered from our links that will have easy Obediance courses we can share with you , as well as more helpful tips from our 36 + years of experience with Beagles, to thank everyone who has helped support the website through their purchases using our links !

Littermate "Walt" is on get two page!

Bella went home to Greenville NC !

her new owner's mailed us a deposit saying they were anxious to start a family together,  and would wait to hear from us to come get her when she was ready . this gave them time to prepare their home for the arrival of their new baby !

Here's their update!:

"Hi Christina!  Just wanted to let you know that Bella is doing great in her new home!  She's so much fun watching her try to run around on our wood floors.  She absolutely loves her bed and her puppy with a heartbeat.  She sleeps ontop of the fake puppy and it's so cute!  I just wanted to thank you again for this little baby!  We love her sooo much and love spoiling her!!  Thanks!
-Stephanie & Kevin

I attached some puppy pictures for you!"

Snickers finally goes home !!!

his family contacted us when we didnt have any puppies available

from time to time we skip mom's heats to give them a break and recharge them so to speak,

we cook them things like fresh salmon  for their coats, and lots of fresh eggs and goat milk are good to replace the coat they loose after weeks of nursing newborns..

often folks driving out to our place make the comment its beautiful out here in this area...

but it sure is out here ! How did you find such a perfect place !!

this is Beagle Heaven !

we love it , its true, we can have our own eggs from chickens, goat milk, we are surrounded by woods in every direction and yet our dogs stay home off leash .  We let them take turns so only a few at a time are loose but often its just after a litter so they can have special food cooked up for them to build them back and  in return we get to visit with our dogs !! we have so many  favorites,  one of us wanted soooo bad ..

can you imagine....  when its ok to say can we keep this one mom.... please... lol

and that was the case when they first contacted us.  So soon as we had another mini litter born they came out to give us a deposit  in order to secure one of our rare chocolate mini boys .

They were very patient through the whole process.

we commented to mom how well mannered her children all were after meeting them the first visit.  She told me when she picked him up that she had appreciated my comment about her kids.  I told her we have actually had to turn down some families over the years,   due to their childrens behavior in our home,

or with a puppy, or new mother.

The kids and I have decided on occassion that a family who couldnt control their child or children in our home wouldnt be able to control them or how they handled our puppy in their own homes  and told them we were sorry but we didnt feel comfortable with them taking one of our babies home .

We also watch for good examples too, &  we all agreed this family did a wonderful job raising their children and it shows !

Snickers goes home! 3/3

we think they will be great with handling him and that mom was teaching them patience .

waiting for the right thing is harder than going ahead and getting something right that moment.

in the long run you will be happier having planned on something, and its a great life lesson to teach .

"Mattie"

silver mini female - sold to Janey & Taylor

"Hey! My husband and I were lucky enough to take home Mattie (silver female from Domino's litter) last March. I just wanted to let you know that she is doing great. We love her to pieces and just can't thank you enough! We are always debating on getting another one so she will have a constant play partner!! On her first birthday, January 26th, we sang (well, I did--my husband just looked at me funny!) happy birthday to her and gave her a special treat! She has the biggest personality for her small size (15 pounds)! She makes me laugh every day!
Thanks again and I hope that you are all doing well.

Love,
Janey Prince"
"The first picture is from the night my husband returned home from Iraq." "The second is when she was younger...she always loved to sleep on her back--all sprawled out!" "The last one is when we were visiting my sister in VA...everyone always loves her!"

They have joined the waiting list to get Mattie a sister, and sent us an update on how things are going for their sweet little Mattie!

"Mattie meets lots of her new doggie friends when we're on our walks in the neighborhood. We take her at least three times a day on good walks. She enjoys them and so do we! Taylor was gone a lot when we were in NC (California, Iraq, etc), but now that we're here his schedule is great! We are both home by six every evening and he's always home for lunch. Mattie continues to travel wonderful with us! We enjoy visiting friends and family whenever we can and of course that means she's coming with us! We really think Mattie will love having a new sister. My father lives close by (in Savannah) and he has two dogs, so whenever we go Mattie has such a blast running around and playing with them non stop. I'm currently working from home, but that will change once the property is closer to being complete and then will be leaving for work. Taylor works very close by, so he can be here whenever needed, but we think that once we're both gone, she would love to have company 24/7.

That's a little background on where we are now. We would be honored to raise another Sunshine Acres Beagle puppy! When anyone ever mentions beagles...I go directly to telling them about you! Our vets comment often on how well behaved she is and just how pretty she is. They say it's not often they come across beagles like this. She is our pride and joy."

Marley's litter

"Casey Castle"
We considered keeping this girl to be a future mommy, but when we found out that the Castle family in Tenn. was looking for a female, and their daughter's birthday was coming up, we talked it over and decided making this a memorable birthday would be funner!

Megan showing Casey her new bed

........................................................

"Hi there,

I wanted to drop you a line and let you know how it is going. When we
have a chance, I'll send some birthday pictures etc to you. Basically,
I don't know what we ever did without Casey...we just love her so!
She's such a good puppy; she'll wimper a little to let you know that
she needs to go out. She's smart; within first 2 days, she knew exactly
which room that the food and water dishes stay, and trotted right off
with purpose to get a drink.

Megan and her are virtually inseparable; much to my surprise, the puppy
actually seems to like being with Megan a lot; a few times I started to
move Casey in order to give her time away from a hyper 5 year old, but
Casey let us know that she wanted right back in the thick of where Megan
was at. She'll climb right up in her lap to be held. Megan takes her
for rides in her Barbie jeep :)

I'm also happy to report that our other dogs seem to love having her
around. Each day, I begin the morning by taking my coffee outside and I
bring Casey along to have some supervised play with the others. Our 7
month old lab, seems to think that Casey is her baby! She'll lay down
and let Casey come and curl up; then flops a paw over her....at times
she'll lick Casey and nuzzle her affectionately. When Casey gets up to
move around the yard, Ava (our lab) follows her and will use her nose to
nuzzle her away from areas like rock terracing that she obviously feels
is too dangerous!!! She let's Casey nibble on her, and will only take a
paw to push her off when she is aggressive. At times, I have
Casey in my lap and Ava's front paws on my lap with her head laid next
to Casey! Casey loves to be where Ava is.

P.S. The herbal drops worked like a charm for the drive home. We
stopped a couple of times in order to get some bottled water and pour
for Casey to get her a drink and to offer her something to eat. She did
great.

Melanie J. Castle, CPA "

( personality is a big part of what we look for in our future mom and dad's ... Casey certainly was what we want to produce in our line of pet beagle pups ! )

Hello Ms. Christina and family.

I thought you might like an update on Casey.  Attached are 2
pictures. First picture shows our daughter, Megan, holding Casey at 2 and
1/2 mths.  Casey had snuggled her way into a comfortable sleeping
spot and had promptly went to sleep.  Next picture shows Casey sitting
smuggly on my lap at 4 months (just a couple of weeks ago).  You can tell
she knows she's special!  She is about 14 lbs, and the vet says is in tip
 top shape.

She still loves playing with our lab.  In fact the lab often
brings a toy over and offers her an end of it so that they play tug of
war together.  Eventually our lab lays down and Casey will climb on
top of her and play nibble on her ear, or you will see them both
chewing on something and the lab with one paw over Casey....just cozy as
 can be.

Casey has also found her voice, but only when she is wanting to
be picked up and snuggle into you.  She and Megan run after each
other often.  I have taught her to "sit" and to "come", though my
method of "come" isn't typical.  I found that if I cocked my head to the
side and gave what I considered to be a pitiful beagle wimper/howl that
she will come to me every time.  This practically brings a giggle fit
from my husband when not only does Casey come, but she comes at a fast
pace and proceeds to lick me over and over. :)  My favorite moments are
 still those instances when she'll climb up beside you and take a nap;
it doesn't get any better than a beagle nap!

Take care,
The Castles

Braden

 runt male is sold

We had determined than Braden is the actual runt of the litter. He went  to a family in central MS with two girls, ages 4 & 14 months. He'll have a nice 13 acre home with a small lake where he and the kids can play!

They sent an Update! :

" Here are some pictures of our lil baby.  He is so sweet.  I expected him to cry the first couple of nights but he has been an absolute doll.  He is spoiled already.  He is just great about going outside and never gives me a problem when it is time to sleep.  We could not be happier with our choice.

Kimberly just sits and plays with him all day.  He gets tired and falls asleep in her lap.  We just love him so much.  Today I gave him one of Natalie's old shoes and he
just played for hours.  "

Dodger

This lady's daughter drove down from Virgina to help pick out the puppy for Dad's birthday present.!

She surprised him with a card that had his picture in it.  She says he was floored, and so excited by the prospect of finally getting his long dreamed of beagle puppy !!
picking up Dodger! 3/17

what a great surprise birthday gift  !!

Hank went home!

He went to "Fay",  who's twin sister  "Kay" had already bought one of our puppies a few years ago. Both sisters live here in Monroe!

they just love "honey", Kay's chocolate beagle purchased from us ..and wanted their very own sunshine acres beagle puppy to enjoy !!

Parkwood sleeping Hank  Fay's daughter and Hank. He's a really early Birthday present ;)

Hank looks similar to Precious' recent male, Santana who went to DC with Reno

the pic on the left is santana as a youngin' (Doesn't he look like Hank!?)

Pretty Santana

Kay and her daughter Crystal Rego came and got their chocolate female (out of tricolor momma Lillie) from us when we lived at our last house. Not too long afterwards we moved in our current home, and guess who is only a few roads away... the Rego family!

       "Cutie"

her family in Ga. sent a deposit to get one of Marley's pups before they were born .!!

her family just moved and had promised the kids a puppy from us once they got moved in to their new home !

They sent a picture from easter!

Awwe read their update!!:

I just thought I'd drop you an email to let you know we ordered some stuff from the link on your suggested purchases page =o)

Cutie is getting so big, being such a good girl. I just wanted to share a story with you.

Yesterday she was out on her tie out, As you know we do not have a fence, so at the moment we use a tie out and she gets to enjoy the sunshine on our porch. Well the kids had moved the bbq grill into her reach and she got tangled around it and slipped out of her harness, I've been at home on bed rest as I just had surgery, any how the point is, she got off the tie out, I don't know how long she was off, it had been at least 30 min, long enough for her to have been long gone I'm sure, but that sweet little girl was still on our porch, just hanging out. She scratched at the door letting us know she wanted in. Any other hound would have been off on the scent of something in a heart  beat.

We choose your pups because of how impressed we were with your adult dogs and the pictures of them just hanging out, however to be honest we weren't expecting that much because all dogs are different, but truely our search and our wait for her has paid off, we have a puppy that is curious and sweet as a puppy should be, but not so much that she wanders off the first chance she gets.

Thanks so much!

Heather

"Clark"

Clark finally got to go home with Mandy to the D.C .area !!  She told us she had been watching our web site for a year now and couldnt wait to get her own Sunshine acres beagle puppy..

Her previous beagle had been from hunting lines and wouldnt stick around he was off following his nose all too often as those tend to do..

She said she was soooo glad to find us and know this one would just be a loving lap doggie that she could enjoy while her boyfriend was traveling  around in the service.  She didnt have a car to come pick him up and was on a tight budget with  a wedding in the works.. so she asked if  we could keep him till her roomates could drive her down to us to get him a few weeks after the rest of his litter was gone.. when this happens we offer to board at a reduced rate to offset the cost of food, additional shots and wormings and the work involved daily, to care for the last of the litter... this worked out great for her and we got to enjoy him a little longer  here !

Littermate Kent is on the get two page!

Victor is sold to Jessica & Brian. This couple has been looking at our site for a year, and are now ready to get a  puppy ! They have recently moved to Washington due to military orders. Jessica's birthday is the 21st, so Murphy is a cuddly birthday present!

We shipped him by Delta Dash next wed. to SEA/TAC airport .
its funny cause our bloodline came from Seattle Wash. when we lived out there, and now we are sending one back there from NC<

Here we are at Delta. Murphy is taking a break before boarding his flight

"I've got my toys, and I'm all set to go!"

Here's an update!:

"Hi Christina,

Just wanted to send a little update on Patrick "Jack".  He is absolutely precious -we are so in love with him.

During the week he is on a doggie schedule allowing me to get my chores done around the house.  I never knew such was possible with a puppy.  He eats - poops - plays -then sleeps a good hour.  When he wakes up he whines letting me know he has to go -  and the process starts all over.

Spoiled:  Every night he has slept with us - cries out once -we let him out- he then falls back to sleep on his pillow- ocassionally will attack one of our ears.  ouch!  LOL

Sam and Alan love him, too.  He is a wonderful addition to our family.  We are a little slow getting pictures downloaded or developed - once we get it together we will send you some.

Thanks for our beautiful puppy.

Sincerely,

Tammi"

They've sent pictures!

"We just love him, and he has become quite the handsome beagle."

  "Skippy"

he is sold to a young lady from Charlotte who has some  cats already ,  and wanted a cute little beagle to join her gang !

"*yawn*. It's a hard life being a cute little beagle.."

she used a pay pal online  acct to hold skippy till she could come pick him up and take him home to her place.

This single gal wrote and told us she had cat's but wanted a buddy to take for walks and out to the  nearby park ..

Skippy was a longer legged pup and that is often what folks want who are active and would like a dog that can stay up with them while they walk or jog !

standard size beagles range from 13 to 15 inches so they are still a great  size for an indoor pet !!

off he goes in her convertable Saab , we thought the carrier she had for him was a neat idea !

"Drake"

his family loved him on the web site and came to meet all the pups, and in person they picked him to join their family.

Trixie

She went to Jim & Jeanne 3/17, and will be buds with their boxer!

Jim said he preferred to get a puppy who's mother was a slightly larger beagle so she could keep up with their male Boxer who was suffering from missing his female companion they lost recently...

The rest of the fam got to come meet & visit her as she grows...

finally the day arrives to take her home with them !!

she has a spot on the back of her head.

This little girl is very playful! Here she is trying to play with little Murphy who is  stareing at her like "what?"

Here's an update from them!

Bruiser has taken on a parent role with Trixie.

He watches her in every room & outside, he initiates play, and they nap together in his big doggy bed.

They get along better than he did with his mother.

She is about 6 lbs. right now and doing very well.

We all love her.

Jeanne and Jim Maricle

Maverick aka Fabio.
is sold to Andrew & Sabrina, and their 2 yr old son Trevor. He flew out to California March 19th!

They've sent an update!

"I was writing to send you some pictures of Maverick. He is such a  doll, so photogentic. My son loves him. It was cute the first  few  days as soon as my son woke up I asked him do you want to go see the  dog dog, and he got so excited because he almost forgot we had him  every morning. Now they LOVE to play out in the backyard together,  the weather has been very nice. Even though my son is not even 2  years old he can pick Maverick up and he helps me take him to go eat  and to take him outside to go potty."

    "Ruby"

this other girl by daisy has a spot on her neck and is bigger. She is spoken for now, and is going home March 26th

Amber contacted us to say she would like to choose one of the newborn tri colored girls and came to claim the one with the dot on her neck.  She was taking a trip back to Calif. soon and said she would be back in March to get her new baby !

daisy's girl with the black dot in the white and Marley's girl with open markings.

sometimes we leave the newborn pics on the site to help folks realize how much they change and how adorable they are when ready to go home !

All our puppies are just the cutest things by the time they are ready to go home with you !!

"Satchmo"

he has been spoken for now.

his new mom made him feel right at home !

his new owners liked his less shedding fur since one of them had alergies.

Hi!
We took Spot's little chocolate male home in March and we wanted to give you an update on him! His name is Satchmo...he turned 4months yesterday and he's already 20lbs! Our vet said we could expect him to be easily 30lbs when he is full grown! He loves riding in the car and goes everywhere with us! He also loves playing outside, taking walks, and is having a great time in puppy class :) He's gotten to be a really beautiful milky chocolate color and his eyes have turned a beautiful light green!
Everywhere we take him, EVERYBODY stops to tell us what a beautiful dog we have! People are always asking where we got him :) He's super smart - housebreaking was a BREEZE and he has been pretty much accident free since 9wks - he LOVES his training and has mastered sit, and down, and is working on roll over. He has a little bit of a dominant personality, but we figured out pretty quickly how to deal with that. He loves new things, and never met a stranger - our neighbor comes over all the time just to see him. We just adore him, and he has been the perfect little guy to start our family.
We just wanted to let you know how much we love him, and let you see how much he's grown!
Chris and Noelle

Abby

She was sold to Becky S. from NJ.

They sent pictures! They also have joined the waiting list again to get her a khaki female playmate from our Christmas or Spring litters !

" Hi Ladies!!
Well after a long think, we decided we want to wait until Abby (Whiskey's little girl) is spayed.  So we are looking at maybe one of your Christmas pups?  We would drive down again as that worked out so well last time!  I think we are going to wait until you have a khaki female (mini or standard) available.  We just love the rare colors, and we thought your grace was gorgeous!!  We are willing to wait for the right thing to come along, so no worries there!  We can wait till spring (Or beyond) if need be.  Should/can we put a deposit down now?

Abby has made a friend with a dog that lives next door to us.  The two of them run and run together, it is so so nice!  Abby cant understand why every dog doesnt want to play with her!  She will love having a companion and so will we!  We love her so much, she is perfect!

Anyway I have attached some pictures of her for you!  Hope you enjoy them.
Let me know about the deposit, and keep an eye out for a khaki female (mini or standard) for her, that you think will like playing with her!

Thanks so much!!

Becky S (NJ)

"I dont think she minded the long drive at all!! lol"

"Denver"

tri boy w/ very narrow blaze/dash

He is sold to Sharon & Shad from Raleigh NC. They already had a name picked out for their new puppy when they joined out waiting list, Denver! ( Denver is where Sharon & Shad first met!) He went home July 15th.

we like to leave the newborn shots on the web site so you can better see how a puppy changes over the first month of its life !

taken before the eyes were open

this happens around 10-13 days old.  in the photo at top the nose was pink as he gets a week or more old it begins to turn black in tri colored pups and often a mauve or grey in rare colored dogs.

Denver's new parents decided to name him for the place they met !

"
Hey there Christina,
We just wanted to drop a little note and update about Denver and also to say how proud and happy we were when Uno became the Champ! Woo Hoo Go Beagles!
Denver, now being just 2 days shy of 9 months, has been the most amazing pup EVER! we love him to pieces, he keeps us entertained every single second, people can not stop complimenting us on how beautiful he is! His coat is growing in gorgeous and those adorible eyes of his gets everyone. I can honestly say eveyone on our block has doggie and Denver is by far the leader of the pack, he loves making friends and playing with them every second he get a chance on a daily walk! Attached are some pics of our adorible little pooch! And you will see just how much he has grown!

"Brutus"

tricolor male from Bonnie's litter.

this big boy was my son Cody's favorite of this litter... ,

Cody loves the big cuddlebugs who lay in his lap while he plays video games on the bed..

soft and fluffy cody says , this means he's a comfortable one to hold, tiny pups can feel fragile , fat ones are fun we think !!

we recently got an email from a local couple who asked if they could run out to meet the pups after work one eve.

They were going out of town, so we took a deposit on this big sweetie pie and they came back by on their way home from a trip to Va. to pick him up and take him to start their family with !

this was the ONE !!!     she said to him, honey look he has the cute white blaze you were hoping for !!!

They've emailed with an update!

"

Hi Ms Christina,

Just wanted to send you some pictures from our first week at home with Brutus!  We just adore him and he has been SO good.  He’s already figured out the stairs in our house and we’re transitioning him from the tub to just the bathroom floor w/ crate this week.  He’s only getting up once during the night and we play lots in the mornings and evenings.  Our first weekend at home with him was great.  We even took him to a neighborhood fall party, where he was just so sweet and lovable with the children.  Brutus was definitely the highlight of the party!  When he got tired, he just climbed into our laps for a nap.  We went home so proud!  He has been snuggly and always wants to fall asleep in our laps (or in one case – on Kevin’s back while he was lying in the floor with him).   Please tell Cody the video game training works great!!

His first vet visit is this Wednesday.  I was wondering if you thought I should give him more of the Evict de-wormer or not.  I know you gave it to him a week ago Sunday when we picked him up, so it’s really only been about a week, instead of 2.  I know I need to do it tonight if we’re going to…  Just let me know what you think.

Enjoy the pictures,

Leigh & Kevin

     "Lucy"

she is going to be a beauty just like her momma bonnie, her wide white blaze will keep her face looking sweet and like a puppy

for many years to come !!  she has lots of white and is a very pretty beagle !

   Female

   "Lucy"

we sometimes like to leave their newborn pics on their section so folks

can see how they change by the time they are ready for a new home !

her fur is soft and so is her nature, very cute !

open markings with lots of white on her..

Julie had come out and put  a deposit down on her! She told us her hubby is a Pilot so she was looking forward to having her new baby  to keep her company when he is traveling !

Julie brought her husband to meet the pups after work one eve.when he got back in town, he agreed with her sweet Haley was the one to come home with them to start their family !

" Christina,
I hope you are well.  Lucy is doing great and we just love her; what a wonderful pup!!!  We will be traveling the first week of February and were wondering if Lucy could stay with you during that time.  Please let us know if that is possible. "

She came back to board with us!

" Morning Glory"
She has been sold to Jamie Berry from Stallings!

Her daughter's birthday was that weekend, and they came out and took home Morning Glory to join them & their 2 cats & dog.

she has plenty of energy and is anxious to play !

Here she is romping in the leaves and saying hi to Pregnant  mom "Sunny" who is an open marked orange and white beagle.

she didnt have a lot of white on her , her head is starting to turn tan and loose the black as most beagle pups do over time.

her back will stay black and her legs will have tan sholders so she ends up to be what folks call a " saddleback beagle".
Her fur is especially nice for a tri colored  beagle's coat !

her face is turning tan now and the black is disapearing like tri colored faces do..

white stays where it is pretty much but may narrow down some between the eyes (which is called a Blaze on the face )

she has a white area on one side of her neck and back

she is a sweet girl with a really nice coat jet black & shiney w/ very little shedding   Morning Glory and Lucy

"Hello - Thought you would like to see some pics of
Morning Glory.  We love her!

" Gracie" previously known as Margie

she is sold to the Justis family!

"
Hi Christina-

Sending our two week update on Gracie (aka "Margie" from Daisy's Sept 2007 litter).  She is so much fun!  Very friendly, enjoys oru company and our children adore her.  Of course, we think she is the cutest dog in the neighborood. Her favorite activities right now are:

playing in the monkey grass in our back yard
playing hide and seek
soccer in our kitchen with an empty 8 oz water bottle
grabbing any stray sock or shoe that may accidentally be left on the floor!

She's doing great at night, and is comfortable in her crate.  Everyone stops to say hello to her when we are walking.  A woman stopped the other day, said she had a beagle, and we discovered her tri male came from you about 3 years ago!  She said he is a great family dog and they love him so much!
I've attached a couple of pictures!

Can we board Gracie with you over the Thanksgiving break?  I would bring her to you Tuesday, late morning, Nov 20, and we could pick her up Sunday Nov 25, anytime after 1:00.  Just let us know.

Gracie and Teddy hanging out in the Kitchen

"
Christina -

Thank you to you and Christi for taking such great care of Gracie ("Margie" from Daisy's recent Sept. litter) over Thanksgiving!  Thanks also for your puppy training tips - they are working like a charm!  Gracie is a fun, playful and charming member of our family.  She is settling into a great routine, sleeps great in her crate and loves to great anyone with lots of tail wagging and a few puppy licks.  She is very friendly and outgoing, and at night she gets quite mischievious!  She knows our children's stuffed animals are off limits, but she'll grab a stray one on the floor at any chance for a game of hide and seek when we're playing just before bedtime.  She is a delight!  Her coat really is so soft and shiny....several visitors have commented on it recently.   We've installed Invisible Fence, and she'll begin training on that in January when she's old enough.  She will love having the freedom to enjoy the backyard off the leash - she loves hanging out in the monkey grass and bushes!  I've attached a picture that will be on our Christmas card this year.  All our best wishes for a wonderful holiday!  Kathryn Justis and family

"

"
Hi Christina -
Our girls wanted me to send an update on Gracie (Daisy's 2007 litter) now that she's celebrated her 6 month b'day.  Isn't she a beauty!?  We are having the best time with her and we feel like she has been a part of our family forever!  Invisible Fence has worked great - she has a lot of freedom to roam in the backyard when she is outside.  She still loves Greenies (and any other treat) - "treat" was the first word she learned and responded to!  At school, my 2nd grade daugher had to pick a subject and make of list of "facts vs opinions" about that subject.  She picked Gracie and wrote:  FACTS - She is a beagle, she has brown eyes, her fur is three different colors, she likes treats, she likes to run under my bed.  OPINION  - Gracie is the best dog in the world, Gracie is so, so cute, Gracie looks cute when she sticks her bottom up in the air, Gracie is the best beagle.  Thanks for all of your help finding a terrific puppy for us!  I love checking your website to see the new puppies.  All of our best to you and your family - Kathryn and Peter Justis

Chocolate female   " Twix "

Fat free , guilt free chocolate for Halloween !!!

She is claimed by Paul & Debbie from Spring Hill, Florida! They were absolutely smitten with her from the moment her pictures hit the site as a newborn, and we are happy to satisfy their sweet tooth for this chocolate Twix!

They had emailed in September telling us that it was their son Christopher's birthday, and that they would love to be able to tell him that Twix was theirs as a birthday gift.

Once it got to be their turn in the waiting list, we emailed them to let them know they could claim her.

When we emailed them with the good news,
they once again proved their love for her:

"

Oh my gosh....YES YES YES we would LOVE to claim her....we are sooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!  Thank you so much.  Just let us know when she will be ready to come home with us and we will make arrangements.

                                                                              Love,

 Debbie, Paul and Family

"

They  later emailed telling us that they check the website every day to get their "fix" of Twix for the day & mentioned...

" Ironically we were trying to make Twix our son Christophers birthday surprise in September and our older son Michael's birthday is Nov. 4th...the day after we get Twix...so it all worked out great anyway!!!  "

"Christina and Family,

Hi...I wanted to send you guys some new pics of Bailey that we took.  She is 11 months old now and about 28 pounds.  Shes doing GREAT!  She makes us all so happy.
She is so much fun to have around.  My daughter started kindergarten this month and Bailey's new favorite thing to do is go to the bus stop with us!!!  As a matter of fact, on the first day of school she tried to board the bus with my daughter!!  Then when she realized that she wasnt allowed she cried the whole way home..LOL.  When we went  back to the bus stop to get my daughter that afternoon she was sooo excited to see that big yellow bus coming back with her playmate that she was howling and yelping until my daughter stepped off the bus..lol.. It was so funny.  She now just enjoys our walks to the bus stop and doesnt get upset when they wont let her on..LOL.  Everyone who sees us standing there comes over to say hi to Bailey and they all comment on how pretty she is and how they love her eyes.  She seems to think shes a local celebrity..LOL.
Ive been checking the website and there are so many cute little puppies...keep up the good work.  I'll send along more updates soon.

                                         Love, Debbie Brouillard"

"

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that we are
ALL ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH OUR "LITTLE MAC"!!

We decided to name him "Mac" because it means "Son of" (in
English).  I thought that very appropriate since he is my first ever
"Son".  I LOVE HIM SO VERY MUCH!!!!  We have nicknamed him
 "Little Mac".

He is Perfect in Everyway!!!!  He is so well behaved, handsome,
and sweet!!!  I could not have picked better myself!  Thank YOU
So Much for Matching Us Up So Well!!!

He is spoiled already - TRUST ME ON THAT ONE!!  Whew is he
spoiled!!  But we love it and we love him!!  His training is going
very well.  We have hardly done any "inside" business!  You all
did such a wonderful job preparing him for us!!!

He has adjusted well and doesn't seem to miss his "family" as
much.  I believe he loves us just as well and considers us his
"family" now!   His stools are now formed - YAY for him!  I know
that is a good sign of his adjusting!

The girls had to go back to school on Sunday and they hated to
leave him!  He missed them so much last night but he did fine all
in all.  Also, today was our first day back at work.  I believe
we missed him more than he missed us!  We came home at lunch
 and he was donig wonderfully!!!!

You are right about his fur being so marvelous!  BEAUTIFUL!!!
The girls mentioned that you would have liked to have breed him
because he had such nice fur.  Roy said that he is willing to
bring him for a visit for you if you like.  We really have no plans
to breed him but we would not mind helping you out because HE
 IS SO WONDERFUL!!!

Anyway, I will try to send some pictures real soon!  Until then,
THANKS SO VERY MUCH FOR A WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY PRESENT!!!

 Moose

Another tricolor male from Bonnie's litter.

This boy is sold to Jaeyoon from Yorktown VA!

Tri Male

Virginia-bound boys! (both brothers went to families in

VA)           Jaeyoon and his dad drive from Virginia to pick up his pup.

Hey, this is Jaeyoon.
Well I've decided to name the puppy Moose. On the way home he started whining/crying a little bit, at the beginning but later on I put some music    (slow music) on for him and he started to sleep :D ! Anyway he has a great personality too! At the rest stops everyone stopped and looked at him and said he was so cute. Same thing at PetsMart lol. I'm going to the vet
on Thursday to get him checked out and stuff.  He's sleepin in the tub with bed, papers like you said. Anyway, I'll send some pictures later.

He is great, I agree it was worth it waiting on one of your pups. He grows really fast though, it's only been a week and he's grown a bit already. He's really friendly to other people and dogs, which is good. A golden retriever that's full grown is afraid of my little pup because Moose sniffs him all the time lol.  Thanks !
 Bye,
Jaeyoon Park and Moose (who keeps trying to hit random keys on the keyboard)

amber on left skittles on right.

9/22 sweet Lucy- orange female!

( in these younger pics you can still see the black fur)

  she went to atlanta !

her new owner told us she previously had a tri colored beagle

and was excited to have a rare colored pet for indoors.  She loved the difference in the shorter coat and how much less her fur sheds !  She had wanted a cuddler who was calm and she got it !

"

Hi Christina,

I just wanted to quickly write you a note and thank you for being such a wonderful and caring beagle breeder.  My little Lucy (also known as Amber at Sunshine Acres) is doing great.  She is already starting to figure out the going outside thing and I’ve got her crate and a gate set up in my kitchen.  We goof around and play a lot. I think we’re already playing ‘catch’.  She saw her reflection in the French doors in my kitchen yesterday and let out a nice howl!  What a sweetheart.  She’s already melted the hearts of my friends, family, and neighbors.  I do already notice a big difference in her coat.

When we left your house Friday, we stopped off on Waxhaw as your website  recommended.  We had lunch at the Southsiders Deli (excellent!) and let Lucy/Amber sniff around before heading south.  We also stopped her on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC so she got to see some new sites as well.

I was so impressed by your dedication and your enthusiasm for what you do…You gave me invaluable advice which should make things go a lot smoother.  Thanks so much!!  I will send you pictures soon and look forward to keeping in touch.  Thanks again, Lynsley Tyler

"

We also heard from her at christmas time '07

Thanks to Lynsley for sending Greenies,  and a cute beagle frame!

she even sent along the last of her puppy wormer we suggest you get to use  until your vet prescribes a once a month pill.

As you can imagine for a single mom and a couple kids every little bit helps ! we appreciate these folks for thinking of us and the pups !

" Hi Christina,
I hope you are doing well.  I just wanted to let you know that Lucy and I stayed up late last night and watched the Westminister Dog Show.  I was glad to see that Uno, the 15 inch beagle won!!!  Finally!!!  I was so afraid those goofy poodles were going to win as they usually do.  Let’s hear it for the beagles.  I don’t think Uno has anything in the cuteness department though on my little Lucy!!  Hope all is well—I’m sure this publicity can’t hurt business!!!!

khaki boy "Teddy"  He is sold to Michelle

precious' older chocolate girl and tri solid head boy socialize with teddy on this day..

   Scrumptious !

Teddy's new mom came out to meet us and leave

her deposit to join the waiting list for a female , till she held this doll baby ... it was all over for her, she was hooked !

she told us she would love to have him come join her and her cat !

  teddy bear !

( she recently moved to Charlotte) Teddys mom picks him up after her trip

We recently got to enjoy having Teddy visit us, while his  mom went to New York, over the Thanksgiving Holidays,

we love getting to baby sit for our baby beagles when their owners go out of town !

we are so glad she kept his name "Teddy" we had given him, doesn't he have a teddy bear face, just way too cute and such awesome less shedding fur you can see how slick it is on his side it gleams , lots of folks have told us they were alergic to dogs , but not to a khaki beagle with the less shed coat we have developed over the 18 years of selective breeding for the Sunshine Acres Beagle khaki's .   We coined the phrase yuppy puppy due to the type of families these were attracting.
They plan for their new puppy to live indoors with them, and go out into its own fenced in yard (preferably) during the day while they are busy at work, there it can entertain itself and get its own exercise while you are gone.  When they return home the pet can come inside, or ideally there is a doggie door to allow the pet to enter a basement or garage area till they return until it is completely house broken.  Lot's of our customer's tell us they plan to be getting a home soon when they start with one of our puppies in an apt. like Teddy's mommie did.  She recently told us he is getting his own backyard now to play in , she is buying her own house with a nice fenced yard for Teddy Bear !

Merry Christmas from Teddy in  his  apt. in  Charlotte , before he moved to his new house w/ fenced  in yard with a doggie door  , yippie , he loves that !

If you have a fenced yard ,let us know in your initial e-mail to us , we love hearing this ... it means our pup will have a chance to play outside , an important part of growing up in our eyes...,

we have ultimate control over who adopts our babies... so letting us know your home is ready for a beagle is important in your contact... it rates you high on our get back to list... over homes with no freedom to be a dog.. and play with a stick..

It really helps a young dog to have a chance to be alone , and then rejoin the pack.. they appreciate you so much more when around you..
