"Oh, I'm so glad Charlie found a  great home!"  etc.

We receive emails all the time from past customers and website-viewers, telling us that they still watch the site to see who gets what puppy, even if they've already gotten their own baby beagle from us. Here you can see the stories of our happy families from 2008

He flew home to join a young couple from NY who had emailed to tell us about their interest in a silver or khaki, on the smaller side, saying they were coming down to Kannapolis/ Charlotte area to visit family,& attend a NASCAR event! They asked about coming out to get a puppy while down in our area.

Though no one was available at the time, they were able to come out September while they were in town, to meet us and some of our puppies, & leave a deposit to join the waiting list in order to findbe matched up with just what they were looking for. At the time, Junebug's mom "Smooches" had a litter here that she could look at to see some of our puppies in person.

Once it was their turn to choose,  and the the right time frame for them, they stepped up to claim this Silver Sweetie Pie.

" Quincy "

a silver male from Junebug's litter

He is sold to Nadine & her hubby from NY !

Quincy chilling with Miss C's son Cody, hitting up those BioWare gaming forums!

During the waiting process for the right one, everyone watches to see the announcements on the website of what arrives in our litters, who's turn it is, who gets claimed by other families, and waits for a baby or babies matching their preferences to become available for them to have as a choice as their right new little pup!

we had been experiencing technical difficulties around that time, and Nadine had written a couple times, once to inquire about the availability of a caramel puppy, then to let us know their updated preferences. We do keep up with everyone's desires, and we also trully try our best to get right back to everyone if they had a question, first to our current families picking up their chosen puppy soon, followed by any other other emails we feel should have priority, and then our waiting families plus new inquiries, but sometimes internet troubles & especially our busy-ness with new litters prevents immediate responses.
(That's actually a good thing though! Looking over our babies comes first, so you know that when your baby arrives, his importance wasn't ever put after selling to a customer! Our first concern is our family raised beagles, and we thank everyone for their understanding, & admiration of this.)
In October, she wrote again curious about the wait. We didn't have quite as much information on the website about the process as we do now, so of course we understood her question. She wrote to say she had joined in September, and had emailed a few times stating their preference had changed and they preferred silver to be first. She said she understood that we have been busy delivering puppies & experiencing technology hiccups & certainly didn't want to be a burden, but wanted us to contact her with the status of their deposit and prospects for a puppy, and what her role should be during the process.

We found this email & now that time had finally allowed a little more in depth response, wrote back to say that 3 people were ahead of her that would consider what she was looking for. One person had joined in June looking for rarecolor minis as a 1st preference saying if there was an available female at their turn they would take her, but had also been interested in males. Another had joined in July wanting 2 minis, preferably orange & khaki, saying male or female didnt matter. and the last had joined in August, with silver standard as a primary preference, but like Nadine he was open to other traits.
We then explained that Of course there are occasionally customers who change their preferences from what they originally told us, but this was currently who we could see was ahead of her, and that once those ahead of her that specified similar interests had been contacted to make their decisions (which they can always choose to pass for a later timeframe, letting those behind them choose) that I would then contact her to let her know its her turn to pick! At that point she could choose to claim one of the babies available to her, or pass and wait for another litter.

we finally concluded with...

"I know its hard to wait through the whole process as people make their choices, Thanks so much for your patience.
Sometimes its like a puzzle and its hard to know what decisions to expect from those ahead of you in line, and we might read an email and think "oh, I don't have an answer for them today, but maybe I will soon!" We appreciate your understanding, and we will definately keep your preferences in mind as we move through the line. "

She wrote back to thanks us so much for getting back to her, & she trully appreciated the time taken to write th email, and thanks for the information.

Later in October a silver puppy became available to her, and then another in December. She chose to wait for a later time, and passed on those turns.

In january, Junebug's babies hit the website, and after a pass from the person ahead of her (who is still waiting for the right time for him to welcome a new puppy into his home) Nadine became next in line, and claimed the silver boy!

"Thank you so much for getting back to me!  We are going to adopt Junebug's
little silver baby, and we are SOOO excited about it!!!  We have even alerted
our neighbors who are also VERY excited. So what are the next steps?  I will
likely fly down to pick him up--hopefully we will have a perfect name for him by then."

Quincy & Mila

Ms. C,
Please do not worry about the shipping, I just want to make sure that the items
fit and they C&C like them.  I will send them out to you on Friday. I really
hope that Christi and Cody like the clothes.

I am so happy that my puppy is getting so much love and that he is a good
little one.  Thank you so much for all that you are doing and have done for us
and our puppy.  I can't wait until the 22nd!!!!

You are very blessed to have such appreciative and caring children.

Nadine

Super generous Nadine and hubby went to Brooklyn Industries where they live, and got t-shirts and hoodie jackets with Brooklyn on them for the kids to thank them for all the help raising her adorable silver boy.

"Thanks Nadine !!! We love ya , those are great "

Opening up the package!
Nadine sent goodies for the kids while she waited until her silver baby was ready to go home! She sent a Tshirt & sweater for Christi, and a Brooklyn hoodie for Cody.

subject: Beagle is the Nation's Top Dog!

"Ms. C!

Did you see the results of the Westminster Dog Show last night?  A 15 inch tri color beagle named Uno took the top honors and he was SUPER CUTE!!!!  He looked like Maisey or Trooper or Lily could have been his mom--flawless coat, big beautiful eyes with lots of eyeliner and a face to die for!  JUST GOREGOUS!!!!

This is the first time a beagle has taken the top prize, ever!!!  You have to read the articles and view the video.  I swear I almost started crying he was so cute and the readings are so endearing!  And the crowd went wild for him!  The articles reinforced all of the reasons I want a beagle for a house pet and I am so thankful that while your puupies are not for show, thier quality are equal or better.  I can't wait to get my little top dog too!!!  This is offically the year of the Beagle!!!  You are about to be more popular than ever!

On another note, did the $65 money get there?  How about the goodies for C&C?  Thanks for the new pic of my little silver sweetie...now known as "Quincy"!  How cute is he?

Best regards,

Nadine"

Quincy & Drew

Nadine flew down to pick Quincy up and take him home onboard the plane with her. We also took "Mila" one of Troopers orange girls to the airport at the same time so that she could fly out to Arizona. We like it when two pups can ride to the airport together , its great when folks can line up their shipping with our favorite airline Delta ,

that way the courier can take  both together on the noon flight going to Atlanta,

and  connecting to their respective Airports,

in each one's new home town !

puppy pitstop before boarding

 Nadine meets Quincy !

face to face after joining the waiting list for a puppy  like him..

he was just the right match for a young working professional couple in New York starting a family.

He gets to travel on board with Nadine on their flight back to NY

She said  on board he was a dream as a  companion and did wonderfully on the plane with her in the cabin !

Quincy was the Perfect little Gentleman .

Jake & Christi at the airport, holding Mila & Quincy- Christi & Quincy match with the silver color Brooklyn Tee Nadine mailed us the week before she met us at the Airport. The perfect color to match her new puppy, she said its silver day .. she rented a silver SUV to drive her new  Silver son out to meet his  nearby  Concord NC grandparents ..

she said it all matches him so well !! LOL>

what fun to be a  Yup Pup !

Christina & Mila, Christi & Quincy

saying good bye to our sweeties before they go to their new homes...

We like to ride along whenever possible to be sure all goes smooth as silk the day our babies leave with the courier who carries our crates and see's to the details for each customer to ship out of state.

Jake's friend Jacob came along, holding very chill Quincy waiting at Delta

Nadine & Quincy, Christina & Christi at Delta.

She sent an update!

" " Christina, Christi & Cody!

What a good baby you all picked out for me.  Quincy is doing so
well.  We just came back from the vet, where everyone "ooohhed and aaahhhed"
over his beautiful color and cute little face, and he charmed everyone by
wobbling around and sniffing everything.  Too cute!!!

The vet said he is a very healthy pup and after his next round
of shots he can go outside to play.  (thanks for saving me time by doing his first set!)
Quincy is in his crate sleeping with his pet duck.  He likes to
cuddle up with his stuffed animals, it is so adorable. I really do love him to  pieces.

Here are some pictures of my wonder pup at home.  I have to send
them in a couple of emails because the file size is large and I do not
know how to adjust it.  I will send some more soon.

Thanks again for such a great puppy! "

( Blue Beagles often have Blue eyes too !)

Nadine had told us her hubby is not used to holding small things like babies and puppies and so on,

so it was nice to get this picture of him now with his puppy, he apparently is more comfortable with it.

"

Every since the day of the wedding everyone has asked her when she is going to start a family.. Being a young professional couple she wasnt ready quite yet. She told us having a puppy would be just the right practice to teach them to care for and be responsible for another , before they tried having a baby of their own to look after down the road...

Makes perfect Sense to us...

possibly my favorite new waiting list customer's know what they want ,

gender is often male now days , and when they will be ready to have one..

know the sizes they prefer, and often have a favorite color or two..

and are willing to wait if need be.. to get a perfect indoor companion to join their new family .

A fenced yard is a bonus since the pup can entertain itself when you  are busy there..

And the idea of training the pet prior to having children is the perfect way to learn what it takes to be a parent without the total commitment a baby presents..

a puppy can be happy in its crate while you go to the grocery store for a few hours..

you cant leave a newborn at home while you go to the movies, in its crib..

babysiters arent required for an occassional night out when you get a pet..!!

( silver sweetie and the biggest in the litter "Drew" sit side by side. Troopers runt behind and chocolate Hershey in front.)

We love hearing that someone plans to fly or drive down themselve  during this part of Winter , going further North is ok the rest of the year but right now I think twice before agreeing to allow someone who has to ship the pup this time of year adopt one of our babies... its so cold !!

if at all possible we just prefer they go to local homes right now... or to  those who are willing to drive here to pick them up...in the coldest part of Winter,

Spring litters are fine ,  and we will be happy to send them then,  for anyone in colder climates getting on the waiting list now for one insures you r family has a puppy available to it once it warms up enough to send by airlines again... in some cases its warm enough and can be done,   but we prefer to wait a few months before shipping further North..if possible.

We hope everyone understands , we care about our puppies a lot , and even though they are treated well and good hands on the airlines, warmer temps make the whole process so much easier,

since shipping animals can be cancelled even when the plane still goes.. due to the temp. dipping below 20 anywhere along the route and likelyhood of that up north is  fairly often this time of year.

She sent more pictures!

"I deserve the best of comfort, can't you see?"

pretty boy!

"Mommy knows I like to stay warm!"

"Hello C Squared!!!

Romeo  Tricolor Male with a big blaze  (from Junebug's litter)

He is claimed by Patricia! this family has had traditional hunting lines and was so excited to have found Pet beagle bloodlines that would be more content without tracking prey and taking off from home to do it..
They confirmed what we say about having to go looking for their previous beagles when they got out to go hunt.

They said we love the fattest, happy one !!

He went home Feb 10th

"Dear Christina,

Just wanted to show you an updated picture of our beautiful puppy - Romeo! He now has a name which he seemed to choose himself.
He loves leaves! he is a happy healthy puppy who is very loved...Thank you

Best regards,

Patricia Noell, Anna Noell, Harold Noell and Hal Noell"

"Hi - just though I would pass along something interesting - My daughter Anna and I were walking our puppy (Romeo born Jan.2, 2008) in the neighborhood and were talking to our neighbors Sarah and John Loftin about their handsome 2 year old orange and white Beagle (Eli) . The two beagles are great buddies and love to wrestle and play. In the course of our conversation I asked where they had gotten Eli and guess what? he also came from Sunshine Beagles!

Our boy Romeo is growing into a very handsome dog, I have also included a picture of him chillin with our cat, Eddy. "

Orange male with a blaze and a few white spots on back

He went home to Julius S from Fayettville!

His new owner had initially emailed to say :

" " I wasn't sure if my last email went through, so I wanted to try again.

I probably didn't say enough about my house or myself for you to even think of selling me a puppy, so I figured I'd say a little more.

I'm 33, live by myself in a house with a large fenced in back yard (3 foot chain link) in a nice neighborhood. I've lived alone for the past 5 years or so, and figured I could use some company there with me. I work from 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, but only live about 10 minutes from work, and would plan on taking my lunch hour to go home and take care of my dog. He would be sleeping with me when he's old enough, and spending the days in his own little area with his crate while I'm at work. My best friend just purchased a Lab puppy, so mine would have someone to play with most evenings. I don't have any other pets myself. I have owned pets in the past. My last one was a Cocker Spaniel that passed away from old age about 7 years ago. My parents bought him for me when I was a kid. The only time he wasn't with me was my first two years in college.

I've decided that I really want to have one of your "Orange" puppies if you'll let me buy one. I love the one with the title "Spot's Orange Male" (the one with the stuffed basketball) and hopefully you will have one like him available when I'm ready. I plan on having everything I need (crate, bowl, toys and all that) by the middle of next month (Feb).

Ok, well, I have to get back to work before I get in trouble for looking at your website when I'm supposed to be working. Not really. My best friend is also my boss. He loves your pups as much as I do. :)

Anyway, I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Julius S.  "

"

This is great example of a wonderful e-mail!

He then wrote again to say:

" "Hey. I hate to bother you with yet another email, but I'm afraid that if I don't, I'll miss the chance to get the puppy I want. I really would like to place a deposit on Spot's orange male. I wouldn't be in such a hurry except for the fact that he's exactly the kind I've been looking for and your pups are going so fast. Could you please tell me the status of the puppy and give me your Paypal information so that I can pay to have him held for me? I live in Fayetteville, so could drive there any day to pick him up once he is ready.

Thank you. :)

Julius S."

 "

It was that quick & easy and he was able to claim the guy he wanted! Sometimes everyone on our waiting list that would want the same type of puppy as you (be it a male,an orange, or both preferences) has been satisfied or are waiting on a different timeframe. Therefore if you email to place a deposit on a certain puppy, or to join the waiting list it could very well be your turn already, since others who were ahead of you may be waiting or have already claimed their own baby. Joining also makes sure that you are the person that gets to be next, rather than someone else who may come along.

Once home, we got a good report!:

"

"Hey again guys.  Just wanted to send a quick email to say that it was a pleasure meeting you last night.  Thank you again for letting me come by so late to get the puppy.

We stopped by Daves house before I went home, and his wife couldn't believe how adorable he is.  If they didn't have 2 cats and already have a puppy of their own, I'm sure they would be on the list for one of yours right now.

He slept almost all the way home and had a pretty good night sleeping.  He was up several times for water, to pee, and wanting to play, but I'm sure that's normal.  So, not a bad night really.  :)

His vet visit went great.  She said he is in perfect health and that you guys did a wonderful job taking care of him.

My mother took him to work for a few hours after his vet visit so that I could get some things done in my office, and she said everyone there totally fell in love with him.  She was afraid that if she didn't bring him back, someone would take him home with them.

Anyway, Thank you again and I'll keep you posted on how he is doing and send pictures as he grows.

Julius"

 Paisley

Tricolor mini Female with a narrow blaze.

She is sold to the Westers from Raleigh!

Paisley on Christi's bed

They had emailed prior to Christmas about getting a tricolor mini female, and wrote the cutest Dear Santa Christina letter. At that time we weren't sure when we would have mini litters again, and weren't taking deposits for tricolor mini females. Their first email had been lost among the shuffle and bustle of Christmas inquiries.

They patiently waited through the Christmas rush, and contacted us again in January, mentioning their previous email.  By then we knew we were expecting more mini tricolor litters, and began taking deposits again. Since their first email had been from a different email address, we didn't see it at first in our seach, so we wrote back to ask for the details again.  We were impressed by their sincere & earnest reply about their family!

Here is a little bit of information on our family.  Our family consist of 4; myself(Lisa), my husband (Al), our little girl (Taylor), and our little boy (Davis).  Our story starts with Taylor, "Pet lover Extraordinaire". Taylor has been wanting a puppy for a very long time!  She has been willing to sacrifice presents, rewards, activities to have a puppy.  She prints out pictures from the computer and hangs them all over the house and tucks these pictures in purses, drawers, anywhere. Every book, toy, stuffed animal, is or about in some way about a puppy.  Anybody we visit that has a puppy or dog we will not be able to leave because Taylor and Davis have found a new friend in our friend's pets.  Both our children are extremely loving and caring.  You can be assured that any one of your beautiful beagles adopted by our family would be the most loved and cared for puppy in the world.  Mom and Dad our on board too.  We all wanted one of your mini beagles for Christmas really bad.

And by the way, after reading your website a hundred times I am so sold on how you raise them we will not entertain the thought of getting a mini beagle from anywhere but you.  So you can imagine how disappointed we were when we did not hear back from you over Christmas.  But very excited to hear from you now.  We would love to have one of your Tri-Colored, Mini(runt if available), Females.  We will probably crate train and our open to any suggestions you have.  There is someone at our house all the time so the puppy will never be left alone for long periods of time.  Our plan is for this puppy to be part of our family and go just about everywhere we go.  We have a very large house.  This little puppy would never be cramped for space.  We have a large yard too but we will walk the puppy on a leash.  This will be a very lucky puppy and we will be a very lucky family to have a sunshine beagle puppy.  I would like to send my deposit in as soon as you say so.
Thanks for getting back with us and we look forward to meeting you.

Lisa Wester

Christi & Jake play with Paisley!

 " Hi Christi,
"Baby's" baby will be our new baby!!!  When can we come see our newborn?  She is adorable!  We love her already.
The Wester Family "

Miss Christina enjoys meeting great kids who are calm ( like these were), and gentle with her babies, who keep their voices down and don't frighten them with loud noises or rough play.

If we see children fighting amoung themselves over the many toys around the room, or agrueing who gets to hold the puppy etc. sometimes the interview is over and a family is sent home empty handed rather than give one of our babies to parents who cant even control their own children much less add in a new puppy who must be handled till trained , we can wait and let a calm person who wont scare the new family member have our baby and its life will go well and happily.. so we prefer to wait to place  them with someone else in those cases..
this family proved to be a model family and just what we are hoping to find for our baby beagles.

they joined our waiting list before she was ready to go home & were patient and waited on her to grow old enough to bring home with them .We were happy to approve this family to take home one of our cutest little ladies in some time ! You could tell both children were well mannered and minded their parents so the kids and I felt comfortable with sending them home with such a tiny baby to care for in their home... for us.  Each one of our babies is so special to us we are very careful to see to it they go to families who either have no children, or have very well mannered obediant gentle children,  whom we can entrust our darling beagle babies to when each finds that just right family who wants them and leaves us..!!

We only have so many,  and there are plenty of people begging for them... so finding a good home ,and being able to know they will care for them and, sometimes even bring them back  home here for us to watch over , and train further for them,  while the family vacations,  is a real plus and makes a short wait for our Sunshine Acres Beagle puppies well worth it over the many years your family will own a pet beagle . visit our page on contacting us if you would like to get started it outlines what we hope to read in that first contact e-mail that will make us want to get to know your family further in considering them for an adoption of one of our Precious Puppies.

They sent pictures!

"Here are some pictures of Paisley.  She is the most beautiful puppy in the world!"

"
Paisley loves DIGGING in the sand at the beach!" lol

"The "Coppertone Girl" better watch out!"

"Paisley, Davis, & Taylor are on an adventure!"

"Paisley is NOT going to be left out on a trip to Grandma's!"

"With all the animal prints, it hard to tell there is actually a real animal in there."

silver male "Bruschi"  (from Laney's litter)

He flew out to Boston 3/11 to join his new mommy Anne G & her fiance!

"hmm what's he gonna do?"  "Mommy!"

  (what a beauty!)

"Hi Ms Christina & Christi!

My little boy arrived right on time last night and is soo adorable!  I can't get over how tiny he is!  Everyone at Delta cargo was wondering where I found a little silver beagle so I put in a good word for you.  I took a bunch of pictures last night so I will send them over to you later today.  Just wanted to write you a quick note and let you know he is such a handsome little guy!!

~Anne "

Hi Ms Christina & Christi!

Bruschi is doing so well!  Everyone that sees him falls in love with him and comments on his color.  He's so smart too.  He learned "sit" a week after we got him and were working on "down".  Mostly he enjoys running in circles around my apartment though - he is so fast!  A woman who works with my dad, Dana, saw pictures of him and wants one now too.  I think she said that she already emailed you, so they really are addicting!  I attached some pictures of him for you.  Thank you again for such a wonderful dog!!

Tula

Orange Female

She is claimed by Shelly from Albany NY !

"WoooooHoooo!!!!!   Yes we would love to claim Lillie's orange
girl!!!!  We are so excited!!!  Can we send her a toy to snuggle
with.....and can we send Lillie some treats??
THANK YOU!!
Shelly"

Tula's family drove down to Maryland where the kids got to spent the night with their Grandparents and go to a theme park .. and mom and dad came on down to pick Tula up from us in person to bring home with them.

they brought her new pink bed, and toys along to rub on the other puppies she was in with so they would smell like home when she arrived in her new forever home with them ! they had already sent along a toy and greenies by mail, for the litter to enjoy along with "Lillie"   , we really appreciate it so much when our customer's are so generous with the kids and doggies and I like this !

(Once her last puppy went home Lillie actually carried around the pink puppy they left her that smelled like 'Tula' for comfort .)

"Hi Miss Christina,
Tula is such a wonderful girl!!!  She did so well in the car ride home...we couldn't believe it!  We stopped every two hours and let her have time to stretch.  She let us know when she needed to go during the drive by making just a little noise....she didn't have a single "accident" in the car!  She is an absolute love bug and is great with our kids.  It was completely worth the drive to bring her home to be part of our family!!"

Hi Miss Christina & Family (and Lillie too!),

Tula is such a great dog!  She has brought so much joy into our house….every day she and Ethan & Bayly play together and all we hear is laughter coming from Ethan from her covering him with kisses!! She follows Ethan everywhere….even down the slide on his playset in the yard.  She is a very happy dog.  We are constantly getting compliments on how beautiful she is…..our vet says she is the prettiest beagle he has ever seen!!!

She made a natural transition into her kennel and has gotten into a routine of waking up between 5:30 & 6am which works out well because then she gets to go out for a walk & have some one on one time with either my husband or myself each morning before the rest of the house gets up.  We love having her as part of our family!

Attached is a picture of Tula and the kids hanging out in the hammock!  I’ll send another email with her face picture attached….she is such a beautiful dog!  Unfortunately we can’t send more than one picture at a time!

Best regards,

Shelly, Will, Bayly & Ethan Reid

Patches

Tricolor Male

He is claimed by Tim & Audna from Indian Trail NC! They joined the waiting list in October, and decided to wait for one of Lillie's babies!

We cant always promise a new customer they will get their favorite mom on the site's puppy..( since a mom could concievably have all of one gender or color etc. but based on what we know of her past litters we often have a good idea of what to expect..)

if we know all the details about your family and  what you hope to find .. and the mom you like the best has it... it's gonna happen if there is any way possible we will make it happen so your family has just the "right " pup to join it !

"Here are a few pictures of Patches from this week.  He is the most adorable little guy, I don’t know what we ever did without him.
Thanks!
Audna VanBlon  "

he was just what the family had hoped for in a first Puppy experience for Dad... !

"He does really well with Sit/Stay & is getting better at Down/Stay. He is really really good at Sit/Stay at the door, where he waits for us to go out first then we release him from Stay so he can come out."

"Here are some pictures of Patches & the boys playing PS3."

"Miss Christina & kids,

I just wanted to you send yall an update on Patches. He is doing soooo great in training class. Our trainer gave him the pre-test today and he passed 16 out of 20 objectives. She said he is one of the smartest Beagles she has ever trained. Housebreaking is going great, he goes to the back door and sits to let us know it is time to go out. He has finished up all his shots and is going later this week to be neutered. The Vet said he is one of the prettiest puppies ever.

We are looking forward to seeing you all again next week when we drop him off for boarding.

Thanks again for raising such a smart little fellow for us!

Audna VanBlon & Family

P.S. My favorite pictures are the one where Jackson & Patches are hanging out in the crate together(Jackson has learned to open the crate and crawls in there with him all the time) and the one where he is laying on the floor with his ears flopped out – he looks like a rabbit. LOL"

YAY!!! Patches took his graduation test today with “Dog Training in Your Home”. He passed with flying colors. He got 19 of 20 objectives!!! I am so proud of him, I just had to tell yall! Our trainer said she has never seen such a smart beagle!!!
See yall Friday around 4:30pm.
Thanks!

He flew home the 13th of April to Rhode Island

" He made it safe and sound.  His plane landed early which was
perfect.  He is absolutely beautiful!  He has been playing all
afternoon with Buca.  I will send pictures soon!
 Thanks again,
 Jess and Dom "

He is doing really well!  His flight landed early on Sunday so we didn't have to wait at all.  He was so happy and energetic when we took him out which I was concerned about.  I was afraid he would be scared by the plane but he did great!

The first time I introduced him to Buca, he was a little overwhelmed (probably because she has a good 60+ lbs on him!).  But after a few  minutes he was jumping on her and playing tug of war.  He has been by her side every second of the day!

"Bailey is now 7 lbs and had a perfect bill of health from the vet.  They absolutely loved his markings and couldn't get over his color.  I think the vet tech said it best when she said he looks like a stuffed animal pound puppy.  He has been great with my other dog Buca...he actually can't let her out of his sight.  Buca has taken the role of "mom" and if she finds him doing something he shouldn't she will nudge him out of the way so he won't get hurt."

"Hello everyone!  I just wanted to give you an update on how wonderful Bailey (Abby's silver pup)is doing.  He is currently 18 lbs and still growing!  He has the cutest face we have ever seen, I think that as he gets older he gets even cuter! Everyone that that meets him cannot believe how beautiful his coloring is!  We absolutely love him to death and he fits in perfectly with our other dog Buca.  He cannot do anything without her which makes leaving them to go to work in the morning easier. I think that since Bailey joined the family Buca behaves much better since she has someone to hang around with! I see what you mean when you say getting two would be easier...he just loves to snuggle and lay with Buca which is really sweet.  Bailey is also wonderful with all of our nieces and nephews as well as the other dogs in my family.  He loves to play and chase the ball and run around the house.  We took him out on the boat and to the beach last week and he loved sniffing all around...he is not too sure about the water yet...he went swimming once and I think it may have been a bit too cold for him!  We love him to pieces and just want to thank you for such a beautiful, loving dog... we can't imagine not having him here! We hope you like the pictures!!
Thank you again,  Jess and Dom from RI"

Golden Girl

 Little Miss "Lily"

" OMG OMG OMG YES!!!! I am already in love with her and would absolutely definitely love to add her to my family! I can't even explain how excited I am. I literally started jumping up and down and screamed when I opened the email! YES! I will definitely be staying in touch with you. I actually have a name in mind but want to think it over a little bit and will update you as soon as possible. I'm so happy
and will keep saying prayers for all the puppies to find wonderful homes.
Thank you so much for all of your help. I'll be in touch!"
-Jessica

She is sold to Jessica Cobb from Atlanta- college student at Valdosta State in Georgia!

Jessica had written us saying she wanted a Sunshine Beagle Puppy, hand raised just for her !

she preferred a lemon, or tri pup , & knew she wanted one from the bloodline we have developed for pet homes only

she was not interested in the beagles other breeders have from hunting hound parents,

Once her baby was born she claimed her immediately !! She got to watch lovingly as Lily matured, until finally the day came where her very own darling girl was ready to join her in Georgia!

Lily loved to come right over to the side of the box to our faces and get kisses, she wanted to always be first in line !

Their big day has arrived  Lilly is going to Georgia,
and tricolor brother "Oliver" went home to Charlotte.. the pups play some and nap awaiting their families
(Oliver came back to board with us over Christmas Break 2008! See his pics hanging out in the house with us & in our back yard with the other 2 boarding sunshine beagles that were here on our boarding page!)

Jessica and her mom drove up from Atlanta and picked up her new best friend together .

Lilly was just what she had hoped for in her emails !and the two bonded well.

Being a college student she decided to make her parents a proposal ...

in order to convince them she had fully researched it and knew exactly what she was getting into by getting a new puppy !

It was a full notebook with articles and training etc. she also showed us her savings jar she made in order to show she could be responsible for the costs involved...

  is that adorable or what...!!!!!!!

we are quite sure she will do an awesome job with her own pet .

" Hello! We've made it through our first night and first morning!

Lilly did SOOO well in the car! We stopped twice to let her stretch her legs and she let us know whenever she needed to potty. Thanks for the suggestion of using the training pad in the car ; )

Last night we had the bathtub all set up and ready for her. When I turned around to pick her up she had already crawled in her crate and fallen right to sleep! I slept on the floor by her in a sleeping bag and she woke me up twice to potty. As soon as she finished she crawled right back in the crate like it was the most natural thing in the world! Not a single accident in the house yet! Every single one has been on the paper! We even had our first successful potty trip outside this morning : )

She was a little bit intimidated when she first met Pepper but so far so good! Whenever we go outside she stays right beside me like you said and follows me around like a baby duckling! She has definitely figured out she has a good set of lungs on her and is quite the talker!

She's kept me busy all morning wanting to play and just curled up in her crate, w/o any bribing, and is taking a nap. It's nice to finally have a breather!

I just wanted to say thanks again for helping to add this new joy to my life. She couldn't be more perfect! Everyone loves her : ) I'm sending a couple pictures along. There will definitely be more to come."

we just adore hearing back from new customer's like this. It really confirms to us that you can choose a puppy online from us

@( Sunshine Acres Beagles) and be very, very happy with it , just like we say !!
"She looks just like a beagle you'd see in a book or a calendar!"

"Sally"- Orange/Caramel Female by our khaki momma Smooches

She joined the Roughton family from the Outer Banks of NC !

"Hello, again! I communicated with you guys before Christmas about a puppy, and then we decided that it wasn't the right time as we wanted to wait until ski season was over. We are now ready to get on the waiting list for a puppy! My husband and I have discussed the rare colors, however, the standard tricolored ones are beautiful too.
So, for waiting list purposes, we'd like to state our preferences as 1. an orange or rare colored male or female, and then 2. a standard tricolored male or female. I love a nice blaze. (oh, and that puppy with the heart on her shoulder was awesome!!) I noticed you have a couple of mommies due around the end of April...we're really hoping we can pick from those litters. We're more interested in the standard sized ones than the minis...though they are awfully cute too!

Please tell me to what email address we should send the deposit - I am prepared to send a deposit via PayPal today to assure our place in line!
Our plan is not to fly the puppy home; instead, we will probably plan to drive from Kill Devil Hills with our kids in our RV, so we can meet you and see all the dogs. We have two kids - our daughter, Jonnie, is 4 (she'll be 5 at the end of April) and our son, Jonah, is 3 1/2. We decided a long time ago (when our wonderful yellow lab died) that we should wait till Jonah was about 4 before bringing a new dog into our family...and when I found your website, I knew that you were the ones we wanted to buy our new pup from. I love that we can 'bond' with the puppy even before he/she comes to live with us. I am an at-home Mom, and my husband is self employed and currently working with our brother-in-law, who is a contractor. Our puppy will be back and forth to the beach as well as our ski condo in Snowshoe, WV in the wintertime.
I look forward to hearing from you and cementing our place on the waiting list!
Sincerely,
~Larissa Roughton"

Once it was their turned, we emailed to let them know that they could choose to claim this Orange Girly!

" Yes, Yes, YES!!! We're so excited to have Smooches' Orange/Caramel girl come join our family!!!
(I was so excited when I read your email that I burst into tears!) We will claim her
right this minute!
Thank you so much! We'll be in touch with a name for her soon.
Sincerely,
~Larissa Roughton "

Hello! Our daughter Jonnie has decided that our little orange/caramel girl will be named "Sally" after Sally from the movie Cars.
I wanted to name her "Snickers," but I was outvoted three to one! lol
I'm in the process of making her one of those blankets you guys show on your website, with the Snoopy fleece and tied edges. Too sweet.
Hugs to the babies!
~Larissa

Sally hanging out with Precious'puppies

Christi's boyfriend Jake holds Miss Sally.

she had the prettiest eyes !

Her new family decided to make a vacation out of coming to NC. to pick her up ! They drove down in their RV and spent the week visiting different areas like the Ashboro Zoo, nearby and camping in some of the Camp Grounds around us.

Then they stoped by to meet us and pick up their little sweetheart for the trip home

Larrisa followed the idea Tom White and family gave us about making a fleece blankie for the littermates to play on and give a scent of home to... theirs was just adorable and had Snoopy's littermates on it !

loading back into the Rv for their trip home with Sally!

 " Hi, Miss Christina!
We arrived back home to Kill Devil Hills yesterday afternoon, after spending a wonderful week touring about the great state of NC! We enjoyed our entire trip very much, but finally meeting Sally was definitely the highlight!
She is a happy, confident, playful, smart, and beautiful puppy, and we are all officially in love with her. She wants nothing more than to snuggle up to us. She stayed close by us at every campsite, and seems to already know where to go 'hurry up'! We have been so impressed with her already, and I don't know what we ever did without her. I had so many compliments on her beautiful eyes over the last few days. She has eaten well from the very start, and so far hasn't had any issues with diarrhea, or with traveling in the RV. She still cries a few times in the night, but calms right back down with a little love and attention! Here is a picture of how we managed a smaller version of the 'bathtub' for traveling in the motor home:

I used my Pet Taxi, and an old diaper box which I taped on securely with shipping tape. With the edges of the box taped up, Sally couldn't jump out. I lined the box with 'wee wee pads' and newspaper, and of course, her bed was in the Pet Taxi. It worked like a charm!
Here is a picture of Jonnie and Sally snuggling in bed early one morning:

They are fast friends, Jonnie Beth and her new puppy. "

" I am so happy that we found Sunshine Acres and our wonderful Sally! Thank you so much for bringing her into our world, and taking such good care of her. She is a truly extraordinary girl, and we love her so much.

Sincerely,
~Larissa Roughton "

Lots of our customers choose to drive to us to pick up their new family member ! We thought using a RV and making this their "Summer time family vacation" was a neat idea for this family to do and might give a few other out of state folks the idea to come to North Carolina for their Travel Plans this summer ! And we are happy to help provide little sweeties to send along !

Our home is located close to Charlotte NC . but the mountains and Myrtle Beach are an easy half day trip from us so other folks might consider visiting there, and then us on their way back home after they get their puppies !!

They sent another update!  8/12/2008

"

Hi, Miss Christina and kids!

We've had a long and very busy summer, filled with lots of travel to our favorite places, Snowshoe West Virginia, and the beaches here in Kill Devil Hills, and last week to Ocracoke, NC. Sally has been growing up so much and so quickly, and has really settled into her role as a member of our family. She is so beautiful and unique looking that everywhere we go people admire her. Her eyes have turned from blue to an amazing jade green - so very special in a beagle!

Here are some pictures of our Sally in her travels:

"

Playful Sally
Pretty Sally

Spoiled Sally
Pretty Sally (look at those eyes!)

Sally on Jonnie's beach chair (Sally doesn't mind the beach, but she does not like the water!!)

I'm proud to say that she is doing great with her house training. (She has never - not once - pooped in the house since the day we brought her home, which we feel is very impressive!) She's also very smart with her commands - come, sit, and shake are three of her very best so far. She is a wonderful baby, a great snuggler, and we love her more every day!

We continue to check your site, even though we have our wonderful Sunshine Beagle. Its a hard habit to break!

Sincerely,
~Larissa Roughton

December 17 2008 Update!
Hello, Miss Christina and kids! I am sending Iams upc's out to y'all today and I thought I'd share some recent pictures of our girl with you.

She is such a beautiful girl!

She enjoys doing tricks for treats

A faithful companion

We love those beagle ears, and she cracks me up when she lays on her belly like this!

I hope you are having a terrific Christmas season!

Sincerely,

~Larissa & Sally Roughton and family

 "Mabel"

Tricolor Female with smaller blaze

She is claimed by Tim & Cathy from Peachtree City, GA!
Cathy had written to tell us that She & her Husband Tim lived on Lake Peachtree, with lots of grassy yard & an Invisble Fence system. Cathy is a stay at home mom and her husband is a pilot for Delta Airlines.  They has 5 children that are high school & college age, and mentioned that one our pups went to Valdosta where her son goes to college! They told us that they have a 1 year old neutered tricolor beagle that missed their lab they had to put down a few weeks prior, and did want to get him a playmate.

" It took me a long time to read everything (like a good book I couldn't put down!) and I'm so tired but I can't believe how much I love your puppies"

She said that they were looking for a female, that would be a taller standard beagle, & that Luke had longer legs too. When we wrote her back about joining the waiting list, we  told her that the size can vary, most of our standards (13in-15in) are around 13.5 - 14in tall, around 25 lbs, but some of our mothers have the longer legs for people looking for that trait- like "daisy" and "Punkin", so if she was looking for tall we could certainly help her pick the right baby beagle!

She was very excited to join the waiting list & got in line April '08. As June rolled around, it became her turn to choose a tricolor female from either Punkin or Cara's litters- She emailed right back to let us know that her husband was out of town, but they would email us tonight once he got back to see what they wanted to do. We did hear back that night about the good news-

" Tim saw her and doesn't want anyone else but her!  Her name is Mabel : ) "

"Mabel's eyes must be open now.  I look at her everyday, and if I miss a day I have to look at her twice the next day :)"
- Cathy Therrell

We met with Cathy at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport on Thur. Mable and her orange brother "Scout" are both being picked up at the airport that day by their new owners, then we ship sister Talulah to Ashley in KY by Delta Pets first that eve  .

the 3 airport bound puppies!

already comfy with her new toy that Cathy sent for her & her littermates to share and then for Mabel to fly home with.

"After a long day of being cute and playing with my sisters & brother, all I want is to snuggle up on my blankie!"

Meeting her Mable for the first time!

We just loved the sherpa bag that Cathy found to take Mable home with! These are perfect for going on a plane with.

We met outside of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in this beautiful grassy waiting area by the Queen Charlotte statue & fountain.

Cathy generously brought us boxes of biscuits and greenies for the puppies and moms to enjoy, and a cute sign she said she had found that had a beagle puppy that looked just like her new baby! We just love anything with beagles on it for our office !!

She has a beagle she has worked with to try and make a pet that stays home like this one will.. she was excited to have a Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppy who will just want to be her lap doggie and housepet !

Off we go to Peachtree City GA!

lol, Cathy sent us this cell phone shot of Mabel & Luke-
" I realized Mabel was young enough to accept a changed environment which included being adopted by our dog at home."

She was trained on the invisible fence system two weeks ago and caught on immediately. She didn't stray far before that though and we see the difference in scenting abilities between she & Luke.  She hasn't a clue why he sometimes runs with his nose to the ground & yelping.

Pretty Mabel!

Mabel has fit into our life splendidly!  She ran to the door for outside business just days after we brought her home.

The tub training lasted about 6 weeks and she graduated to her big wire crate near my bed.  Luke sleeps up next to the crate in the same type bed so they have some togetherness, with their own space.  She slept till 7 since then.  She used to tiptoe in behind him for naps when she was tiny and for a few weeks tried to nurse when he laid on his side, settling for the loose skin behind his front arm :D  He'd look at us like "what is going on here?"  LOL

"Scout"
In their household, they have one Boy Scout, one Cub Scout, a Girl-Scout-To-Be,
a Cubmaster and a Scout Mom - so they said the name choice just made sense!

Orange Male was claimed by the Smith family from Miami !

" How lucky we are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are so happy to claim this little fellow as the newest member of the The
Smith Family!

He is just adorable!  Our three children, my husband and I all let out a
squeal when we pulled up his picture.

Months ago, we fell in love with Punkin's sweet face and had our hearts set
on an orange and white male.  The fact that she wound up to be the mother
and she had only one boy in her litter makes us so sure that this is a
match made in Heaven!

We think we know his name but will confirm at a family pow-wow before we
announce it.

We love him already.  Please hug Punkin and tell her that we will take such
great care of her little guy forever.  We are going to get a care package
together for both of them!

Thank you for everything - your kindness, your wonderful email responses
and the love that you share with these wonderful puppies and their mommies. :) "

Scout tries out a crate to see why all the big dogs like them !!

We like to let the pups get different experiences as we raise them for you.. this day he was exploring and decided to try out the crate for a bit he walked in and layed down for a nap with the door to it open..

"Hello there!  I have so much to write to you but will try to keep it brief since I know how busy you are with the puppies. First I have to say THANK YOU for those gorgeous new photos of Scout on the  website.  We keep them pulled up on our computer and even when I woke up in the  middle of the night, I had to run and take a peek.  He could not be any cuter!!"
-Corinne

"This picture for Scout shows our three children - Benjamin (11), Duncan (8), Amanda Joy (almost 5).  They are joined by their cousin Nicholas (8) on the far right - who's mom (my sister) - is the one who found your website for us!"

"okay Talulah, since I'm using your new toy, I'll be your pillow."

We met with dad Brian & son Duncan at the airport with Scout on Thur!

It worked out perfectly for the three puppies to leave the same day and be together at the airport. Scout's sisters got to send along their scent on his blankie and toys for his first nights away from home!

    Father & son adventure!

Though previously Duncan has always been nervous about flying, this time he was excited to come with his dad to pick up his new puppy, and the flight was great he told us!

Saying goodbye to our pups at the airport one last time .

The Smith family also sent along this truly thoughtful gift for Scout's mom Punkin. She gets $50. of anything she wants or needs from Petsmart! wow Miss C. almost fell over when she opened this and saw how generous this was !!

Punkin says thanks for my new bone and treats, to the families who thought of her too !!

Everyone hanging out in the grassy area outside of the Airport. We even had a few onlookers, such as the man above who had just gotten a golden retriever pup but couldn't get over how adorable these were! Who couldn't stop to take a peek at these cuties? According to one of the many passerbys who used to raise beagles years ago, these were the cutest beagles he had ever seen !

ready to head home to Miami , with his new family who came to get him and take him back on the plane inside the cabin with the boys, he makes himself comfy in his travel carrier,  and then  he peaks out the side window to say bye bye !!

Brian, Duncan and Scout are off to Florida where Scout will be met with more happy faces !

"I am the one (along with Benjamin and Amanda Joy) who is going to be hopping around like a jumping bean waiting for our little guy!!  I should have been selfish and booked just me- ha-ha!!"
-Corinne (mom)

 We've received an update! :

"Hello there.  We are totally in love with our little guy.  He is so, so
good.  We can tell that he had a great training start with you and we've
tried to continue it at our house.  We're taking him out every 30 minutes
and he just does his business like he is a pro.
The first night when we fed him, he looked around in a frenzied state,
crying and looking for his sisters.  It was like he thought they were
supposed to be there.  He was fine after a minute or so and proceeding to
dig in wholeheartedly.  He really seems to have settled in and seems to
feel at home already.
It's amazing how similar his day is to that of a newborn in that he wakes
up, goes to the bathroom, eats, plays for 25 minutes or so, snuggles with
us and then lays down for a nap.
Saturday night, he went to sleep at 7 pm and kept sleeping and sleeping and
sleeping.  I stayed up until 2:30 am, doing chores around our house and
anticipating that he would wake up and need to go out any minute before I
headed to bed.  Finally I just went to bed and that little sleepy-head
slept until 7 am!
He and our 10 months old cat are hilarious together - she totally does not
know what to make of him but is intrigued and seems happy to have the
activity around the house, even if he is walking up and swatting her with
his paws.
The kids are in love, as are our friends and neighbors who have met him.
Thank you again for all you have done for us and for Scout.  We will keep
in touch for sure and thank you for the wonderful photos on the website.
What a memory!

Corinne S. Smith"

"Talulah"

 Orange Female with narrow blaze

Talulah flew home to Ashley Campbell from Louisville, Kentucky!

Ashley emailed in April, interested in adding one of our companion beagle to her empty townhouse! She works as an ER technician, and being a single gal without kids, she was looking for a good friend in her lifelong pet.

She joined the waiting list saying that she really loved our orange & white dog, & that Punkin is so pretty, however she was still really open to pretty much any type of loving puppy from us!

She emailed us as soon as she saw her name as being up for an orange female on the site, and said the orange female with the narrow blaze is beautiful and asked if she could have her, saying she already has a name for her! Her shipping items have arrived now and she and her littermates are eating dry Eukanuba small breed puppy food and are away from momma learning to go on paper .

she is flew to Kentucky!!

"I got my box in the mail, and I'm all set to fly home- look at my new toy!"

Talulah waits and plays in the grass while we meet with Scout's owners Brian & Duncan, and Mable's owner Cathy.

"I cant wait for Talulah to come
home.  I'm covering my house in doggie stuff and I literally cannot
stop checking your website.  It's honestly the first thing I do when I
wake up and usually one of the last things I do before bed.  I am so
excited for my new little girl!"
-Ashley

(chewin her bone in the crate at Delta Pets first office in the airport..)

All set to fly home!

"Hi Christina,

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for taking such great care of my new puppy!  Talulah is a happy healthy fiesty little girl with the sweetest personality.  I am having so much fun taking care of her and playing with her too!  She's settling in well and missing her mom and littermates less each day.  Please let me know if I owe any additonal costs and I will be sure to send pictures as she grows into a beautiful dog.  I will also highly recommend Sunshine Acres to anyone interested in a Beagle! Thanks again!

Best Regards,

Ashley Campbell "
