Recently Adopted Litters:

All the Babies in these litters have found their forever families! Scroll down to Browse through all the adorable faces, and their stories.

Someone once told me its like reading a soap opera every day...
I just cant wait to tune in !!
She said I love seeing who is available and when they get adopted just how perfectly they match the new family who convinced you all they would treat them the best... she said I know you have so many people wanting them, you have to try to determine who will spoil them, but give them discipline at the same time  so they turn out to be the perfect indoor housepet ! - so true !!

If you are the happy family of one of these cuties, remember that we love to receive updates and/or pictures whenever you can pass those along! We enjoy seeing how our puppies are fitting in & growing up in their forever homes!

Preparing for the New Puppy! Hint: If you are saving up newspapers for when you bring your new puppy home, toss out all the slick ones they are not absorbent and pups slip and slide in the tub  vs. the white pages which work real well during the still goin on paper phase, right after bringing the puppy home..

Over the next few weeks they can begin going outdoors too, then it  wont be long till they are used to your home & being crated at night ( we advise you how to go about this when you pick up your puppy & you can also learn about this process by following our Tips pages!) , but at first it is great to have a few stacks of papers on hand !  ( we also love it when folks think to bring some to us.. we are always appreciative of those ! You can only imagine how much paper we go through each day as our little ones learn to go over on the paper.)

One gal brought a box with some wee wee pads when she came to board her Sunshine beagle with us .. boy did we appreciate those to hand to each person who was driving home far away with a little pup in the car..(makes it easier to have those on the floorboard than having to pit stop the minute the puppy wines to get out to go..) LOL !  we ran out, but sure would love more if anyone has some left their pet no longer uses !

When picking up your puppy by car its suggested to bring a cardboard box with papers in it or wee wee pads for the floorboards work well when and if needed .  Also we often hand out a Clorox wipes bottle those are handy if needed too !! Some folks start out with their new puppy on their lap , or in a crate with plenty of toys and chew toys or treats to play with .

We also advise folks to go directly to the spot in their yard where they want the puppy to "Go Hurry UP" , and put it from the car on the grass or ground there.. let it sniff around and just stay out of its reach as you walk around...    soon enough it will decide to go since it was cooped up in the car and likely hasn't yet..  and you make a big deal out of saying good hurry up in a praise voice !! and give it kisses ! before long it will be thinking "they must like it when i go here... I want to go back to the same spot and remark it again ... and get all that praise again" .. we give plenty of tips on this and all the phases involved in taking home a new puppy from us so it is a wonderful and easy transition for all members of the family bringing in one of our babies to your home. Be sure to follow our advice/guidelines, and follow-up on any of the pointers for having one of our intelligent little sunshine acres beagles join your family as a companion for the next 15 years!

Well it's been many weeks. Our life has been busy and I am jsut now getting some pics to you. We have LOVED Chloe. She is a GREAT dog. The kids have done very good with her and have learned their various responsibilities to feed her, take her out and how to play with her properly.

Chloe is learning to "come", "sit" and lots of playing. She is terrific.

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy and share.

God bless and Merry Christmas!

awe they love their orange Indy so much, they even want dibs on his sweet momma Maisy!! how cute is that?

"Indy is doing just great.  He is the best dog ever and such a lover and snuggler.  He loves the kids and loves to give kisses.  We could not have asked for a better dog.
Anyhow, the reason for my message, I noticed that you sometimes adopt out your mommies after you retire them.  Do you take a wait list for these?  We'd love to have Masiy (Indiana's) mom if/when she ever comes open.  We'd love a female and love the idea that she is his mommy."

We told them Certainly that Maisy can join their home when she retires in the future! We said we though this was a great idea. and we'd certainly be happy to start a waiting list for folks interested in adopting moms when they are ready to retire.

Here are a couple more pics.  One of Indy and my youngest.  They are buddies.  And another of him lounging on his fav spot on the couch.

  August 16th 2009 Update:

"Hello All,
I thought it would be nice to update you on our little Cole who turns one today! I can't believe its been a year already since we first contacted you about him!

Cole has been an amazing addition to this beagle-loving household. He has grown to be so handsome, he gets fawned over everywhere we go! He is also quite the mush, we get lots of kisses and cuddles from this little guy.Cole is super smart and is a quick learner. He enjoys our daily walks and trips to the dog park.He is quite entertaining and gets along so well with Roscoe, our first beagle who is now 2, and Gino our 6 year old basset-beagle mix that we rescued back in March of this year.
I have attached some pictures of Cole for you to see!
Thank you so much!

 " Christina and Kids,
Just a note to say Hello and let you know that TJ is doing just great! We took him camping with us over the weekend and he loved it, he curled up in his crate and slept like a baby! We hope he does as well on the 10 day trip to New Hampshire in 2 weeks!
TJ has the most beautiful coat; he hardly sheds and is so soft and shiny. He is nearly house trained, we had to improvise the first night home b/c he was able to climb out of the tub by placing his rear legs on an inner ledge! David brought a wood box in from the garage and that has been his bed-it is very similar to his bed at your place-only with higher walls-and there is room for his bed on one end and paper on the other. It works great, but I anticipate he will be crate trained after New Hampshire.
We were thrilled to see that Zorro found a home, and Kirby is so sweet!
This computer will not attach my pictures, but a new laptop is on the way and then I will send updated T.J. pics.
Enjoy your summer!
Thanks for our puppy-Ben's "best buddy!"

Justin and Olivia McCarthy from Brooklyn, NY, here.
We wanted to send you some recent pictures of Trevor and let you know that he is doing great.  Turning 4 months soon and growing very quickly.   He is even 18 lbs., now...a big difference from the 2.5 lbs., he weighed when we he first arrived.
We could not be happier with Trevor and can not imagine our life without him.  He is beyond anything we could have expected and are writing to inquire about another Sunshine Acres Beagle."

Hey Mom I found a choo hoo hoove in the toys basket can I have it?? pweeeseee !!

" Daisy " doggie is one of  our Sunshine Acres Beagle gang that amazes folks who have had a beagle from other lines in the past. she loves to lay on the front porch or on the driveway to our home... they just cant believe a beagle that doesnt hunt and leave to head to the woods to find rabbits to chase !  We allow several of our beagles to be loose at a time even though we are surrounded by woods and pastures they dont wander away... we are breeding for homebodies who want to be home with you. this is what our customers are hoping to find in a pet beagle !

she is a well rounded family pet and whether hangin out on the deck waiting for a bite from a cookout with the family ;

or watchin a good movie with the kids,  her pups are fun,  just like her !

Ok , I did my part , time for a little break and some chew toys !

"I can hardly believe it.  As crazy as it sounds I have actually been praying for this little guy to be able to come home with us.  Just Amazing!  We decided we want to name him Eli, It's Hebrew meaning high or ascended.  Again, we are ecstatic.  Thank you, thank you, thank you,

"Phineas"

Tricolor Boy with a dash of white on forehead- will likely be Solid head

He is claimed by Nicci Brown and her family who lives right here in Monroe NC!
She and her hubby both work at Wingate University

They had done their research and decided a beagle would be the perfect family companion pet for them to add to their lives

When we decided to get a dog (about a year ago), we did a lot of research both online and through dog books.  One dog that has come up as ideal for us time and again is the Beagle.  This brings me to your site. We would just love to adopt one of your Beagle puppies.

Like many folks, they hoped to rescue a deserving beagle, and adopted a beagle mix into their household. . We admire folks who try to adopt rescued animals, and we know it does often work out with patience and experience.

She told us about some incidents that they were faced with however, and due to his ultimate size being much larger than they had hoped for & his already acquired temperament, they were unable to keep him (at 65 lbs a dog would need to be very obediant and submissive so that young children were safe. Starting from young puppy hood, one can influence their puppy's future behaviors & habits, but it is more challenging to re-program an older, bigger, mixed breed dog for a family with young children to be able to handle. )

We've noticed traits of aggression in him (at 65 pounds, he can be a real handful), and obedience training has been helpful but has not completely fixed his dominance and bullying.

After their bad experience with a rescue beagle mix, they found us and like many others who come to us after trying to integrate a dog who was not bred & raised for their pet-lifestyle, including size and compatability, they decided to add one of our hand raised family oriented beagle puppies to their family to love and raise as their own!

"Hello Miss C,

Thank you for all the wonderful information you have on your website.  I feel very comfortable inquiring about a Beagle puppy from you - I've read to be careful about breeders but the information you provide lets me know that you are not running a "puppy mill." Partly for fear of buying from a puppy mill, my family and I decided to get a rescue dog from an online source this summer..."

Our 20 years of experience breeding and raising strictly for companion beagles is made available through our massive website, so that folks are able to comfortably peruse our many wonderful expereinces helping families lovingly adopt one of our babies into their their happy family. We are a Family, a mom and her kids, and our hand raised puppies are our number one priority, and choosing the appropriate loving homes they go into is very important to us, just as adopting from the right family is important to you. This is why our website is so huge- so that potential adoptees can learn all about our family and our mission through our many pages & feel comfotable in moving forward with our help matching up one of our little ones, and likewise we like to know everything we can about potential adoptive homes!

"Wrigley"
T
ricolor Male with a narrow blaze ( has been claimed)

These Newly weds had emailed in January while in the process of purchasing their first home together, asking about joining the waiting list for their firstborn baby beagle!  They had asked for a tricolor standard baby to arrive for them and they would be ready starting May! This is one readon why we have a waiting list- so that we can get to know folks ahead of time and they can become prepared to responsibly bring home their new family member!

Leah had done as we ask and gently  reminded us of their desire to adopt a Sunshine Beagle puppy from us!

"I have included our previous email below (in case you didn’t get it) and also attached a picture of Jonny and I! I am always taking pictures and sharing them online, so we would definitely keep you up to date with our growing puppy if we are lucky enough to be chosen as suitable parents for one of your little babies! We would also like information about placing a deposit using Paypal if we are pre-approved for your waiting list. We may be trying to get on the waiting list a bit early, but we just don’t want to miss an opportunity to raise one of your puppies since our timeframe is important to us (see our previous email below for timeframe explanation).

Thank you once again for your time. We really appreciate all that you are doing to love and care for these adorable puppies!

Sincerely,

Leah Morehouse

Initial email:

Dear Miss Christina,

We are Jonny and Leah Morehouse, and we are interested in purchasing a beagle puppy! We recently got married (June 2009) and are currently in the process of buying a house in our hometown of Muskegon, Michigan. Waiting until we got a house before purchasing our puppy was very important to us because we didn’t think it would be fair to the puppy to be stuck in a small apartment with no fenced in yard. The house that we are buying is in a nice neighborhood with sidewalks (perfect for walks with the puppy) and has a good size, fenced in backyard.

We are very impressed by your extensive website. It offers many helpful tips for raising a puppy. We have always loved beagles, but wanted one to be an addition to our family rather than for hunting purposes. It seems like most other breeders breed beagles for their hunting abilities, and that is very discouraging to us. The idea of having a beagle that is a loving companion and a house pet is exactly what we have been looking for. We would love a beagle that can be a part of our family and would be a loving friend to our future children. We would treat our beagle puppy as our first child! We can already picture our puppy joining us on trips to the park, baseball field (Jonny is a baseball coach), and the beach (we live along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, and there is a dog beach nearby!)

Our puppy would sleep in a crate or bed, most likely in our bedroom. Having a puppy will probably be great practice for having children!

Honestly, the thing that we are most concerned about is the distance our puppy would have to travel to get to us! We considered coming to pick up our puppy in person, however, we decided that it would probably be best if our puppy were shipped via air.

We are looking for a tri-colored puppy, preferably with a blaze, either male or female. If possible, we would like a standard size beagle of a petite/slim build. We would like a puppy that is playful, but also likes to cuddle…basically just a sweet little puppy! As far as timeframe, we really need to wait until May 2010 at the earliest. This will give us time to get settled into our new house and make the house puppy-friendly. We also want to be able to devote our attention to raising our puppy rather than moving. Our ideal timeframe is May-July 2010. Jonny is a physical education teacher, so he has his summers off! Getting a puppy in this timeframe would allow Jonny to be home with our puppy and give it the attention that it deserves. Leah is a dental hygienist and works in a dental office close to our house, so she can also go home and visit our little puppy on her lunch break!

Thank you for your time. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
Jonny and Leah Morehouse

We really appreciated hearing all about how one of our babies would fit in for many years of happy enjoyment!

( claimed now)

 "Hello again Sunshine Gang!
We see that we are next in line to claim a tricolor boy after Melissa chooses one of Ruth's puppies. We would like to claim Daisy's tricolor male with a narrow blaze! (the one with a lot of white on his right shoulder) He looks like everything that we have imagined! We will be naming him "Wrigley" after our favorite baseball stadium: Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs. While browsing your site last night, we noticed that he looks a lot like Daisy's previous puppy "Gracie" as a newborn! We are really excited to welcome Wrigley into our home! Please let us know what the next steps are to make arrangements for Wrigley's homecoming/flight home. Also, we are getting a package ready to send down to you soon, so we need an address to send it to.
Thanks so much for keeping us up through your site! We look forward to watching our puppy grow up the next few weeks while he is in your care!

~Jonny and Leah Morehouse "

"Brady"

Tricolor Male with a very narrow blaze- will likely be a solid head  (claimed now)

spoken for by John Lynn

Yes that sounds perfect - and just like his littermate, he already has a name, "Brady."  I want to thank you so much as I have really enjoyed this process of getting a puppy from you.  I look forward to seeing him very soon and am very excited to finally get him in the weeks ahead!  Thank you so much again!

Sincerely,
John

this cute thing will be going to a single fellow who came out to visit us knowing he would be relocating to Charlotte and wanted to get on the waiting list for a tri boy during this timeframe to be his new best friend .. his friends joked he wasnt allowed to have a dog growing up with his "evil parents " LOL  !! we thought that was too cute ...

I know thought miss c. my mom the interior designer wouldnt let my Hunting bred stinky beagle hound an uncle had given me in the house either , hey maybe thats why I developed a line of beagles for indoor mainly homes ... ya think? lol.

with less shedding fur and smell ....

could be.  these guys do have really specially pretty coats we have noticed a sheen to them !

Just wanted to let you know that Scout did great on her flight and over night. She met the boys in the morning and it was like Christmas. They LOVE her and my husband and I adore her as well. She has been eating great and going to the potty outside like a good girl. She LOVES her crate and goes in there with the door open to take her naps. Thanks again for everything and for giving us such a gift.

This is what we saw the first thing in the morning when we got up- they two moms Sissy and Tracy lounging together on the deck's patio chairs awaiting the first one of us to get up that morning and let them into visit their gradually weaning little ones.

Christina,

Attached are some pics of Sofie Ouzts. She is doing great! Every couple of weeks she gets a reunion with her brother Sarge when the Ouzts brothers get together or when the other leaves town.

Thank you so much for the additions to our family!

" Miss C-   Happy New Year , I hope you and the kids are well.   Our Sarge has turned out to be a great dog and addition to our family. We thank you for the opportunity to adopt such a beautiful beagle!"

Sarge came back to board with us!

sarge hangs out the guys just loved having Sarge hang out while they play games & texted friends, Sarge was the perfect pal!

tracystracys Sarge's family picking him up to go back home!

Lots of our expectant parents bring us gifts for the Mom feeding their new family member when they come out ...

the brothers above bought sibbling puppies from Tracy's litter, picked them out as new babes  and later  met up here at our home to take them each to their family, they walked in the door with a 40lb bag of Iams dog food to use helping us in our mission to raise happy Healthy adorable beagle babies for their new families to enjoy for many many years to come !

funny little side story... one am we had put Tracy in to visit her weaning pups in the office and went to eat our breakfast when we came back in to check on her she had found a box of biscuits and helped herself..well , she figured.. the pups had her for breakfast..lol... we were in the kitchen eating ours so it was her turn to Re-Up  !

The box of Iams biscuits had been mailed to us from the Rozenbom family in Texas who were getting a pup by Maisy at the time along with some childrens sheets they had outgrown... we go thru a lot of old sheets with the moms using them to birth their litters in ... sometimes the day they deliver they "Nest" and make a bed in the sheets tearing up and circling round and round to get the nest just right... so we like for folks to feel free to donate even torn sheets since they can be used that day and the nicer ones later once the babies have arrived and mom is just laying on it to sleep and tend to their needs .

Hi Christina,

Just wanted to give you a quick little update on little Bowie, he's doing fantastic!  He seems to be adjusting very well with us, and frankly, we cannot believe how good of a puppy he is.  Other than being a little nippy (which is expected), he hardly ever barks or cries, he's super affectionate, and he's taking to housebreaking already!!  We got this thing called the Porch Potty, which is a self-draining grass tray, and I highly recommend it to any future owner who doesn't have easy access to a yard.  Bowie already knows that's his place to "hurry up", and amazingly, he's able to hold it at night for about 6 hours already (which I did not think was possible for his age).  He's done extremely well around other people, even with the few dogs he's met in our building (a 40lb chocolate labrador named Frank was more afraid of Bowie than vice versa).

He's been coming to work with me, where he's usually sitting on my lap as I edit this pilot tv show.  And yesterday he had his first visit to the vet, which went perfectly.  Everyone there (and elsewhere really) just immediately fell in love with him.  Thank you so much for taking such good care in raising our little boy, and we hope to stay in touch in the future.

Thanks,

Ed & Sara

Hi Miss Christina and family,
We just wanted to send you an update on little Winchester . He is doing beautifully and adjusting to life with the Kiernan family just great! We love him so much and having him join our family at this time was such a blessing. The kids are out of school and able to be with him more than during the school year. We all just adore him.
We went on our annual camping trip over Memorial Day and discovered Winchester is quite the camper. Every morning Winchester and I (Noelle) would go on a long walk around the state park to let the others sleep a little longer and when we would get a little distance from our camper Winchester would get so excited and start running and pulling me along to get to the camper. I don’t know how he could tell our
camper out of all those campers but he really could spot it a ways out!
When we are playing with him he gets excited sometimes and tries to bite at us like you have warned us about. We are all working with him on this and firmly telling him NO and spanking when needed. He is getting it- he just gets excited and has to be reminded. We will stay on him about this, we must; his teeth are sharp, its terrible manners, and we never want him to think he’s top dog.
I can’t thank you enough for all the helpful tips. All the information made this adjustment so much smoother.
Winchester is such a little sweetie. He loves to snuggle and cuddle and we really adore him!
We will send a photo soon but I wanted to get you an update anyway. (I have a new camera and Mike has to show me how to download the pics.)
Take care, Noelle Kiernan and Family and Winchester !

(They even drove up from Georgia to NC. to leave him with us while they vacationed in Charleston SC. last summer so they could be sure he too would have a good little vacation with some other Sunshine Beagles ..Chilli by Electra who was the same age happened to be visiting up too while he was here and the boys really had a blast playing in our huge fenced acreage back yard and  inside our home .)

Punkin's Litter have all been claimed!

They are already going home! We can plan to meet with some folks Friday, the 14th!

Introducing Punkin

Punkin is an Orange Longer legged Standard mom Punkin has a slim build & a more athletic personality,
perfect for active homes & jogging/hiking companions

Punkin is Invisible Fenced trained, she learned the system in only 3 days! The trainer told us that most beagles from other bloodlines take longer, since they are more easily distracted by the thought of chasing rabbits and squirrels which can be right outside their pen. He said not only the dogs he trained for us here, but other sunshine acres beagles in the Charlotte Metro area he had trained for their owners  had proven to also be excellent learners ,and adapt to their system more readily and contently.
(So if you've been told beagles are hard headed and difficult to train, just ask Invisible fence, ours are different than  most!)

 a pregnant punkin!

Punkin hops in with her kids who were enjoying a nice afternoon outside

One family who was getting one of punkin's babies sent along goodies for the puppies and  momma punkin to enjoy!!

"Lily" Orange Female with a wide blaze and spot on muzzle

She has been claimed by the Williams family from Bridge Hampton (Ballentyne) !

Lily Recently came back to board over Fourth of July Weekend!

"Diamond" dark Orange Girl with a blaze

She has been claimed by Bill & his kids from Wilmington NC! They had originally joined in March for a Chocolate or Tricolor during the April/May timeframe, but fell in love with this girly to call their own!

" Miss C and kids :
Not sure where we are on the waiting list - we know it should be soon.... - just wanted you to know that we viewed Punkin's litter and fell in love with her Dark Orange Female !  Beautiful dark orange/chocolate color ! .... and the blaze will thrill the kids as well. "

" YES !!!  We would love to claim her !! Please do make it official !! We are so looking forward to seeing picture updates and watching her grow !!  Now we need to start getting everything perfectly ready for our new family member !... We'll also work on a name and let you know !!   THANK YOU  SO MUCH !!!!   .............  Bill and kids  !!!"

The Joynes sent their care package for their lil girly and her family!

"Audrey" Lemon Girl with a blaze and open markings

She is claimed by Emily! She had joined the waiting list in October, originally for a tricolor female during the May timeframe, but said this little girl melted her heart!

We are always happy for the preapproved people to switch and claim a different color, gender, size, whatever they decide is fine with us! We know how darn adorable they all are! lol and sometimes one just tugs at your heart strings and that's the way we want it all to play out.

Subject: I WOULD LIKE PUNKINS LEMON GIRL!!!!

Hey Christi and the rest of the sunshine gang!

Its Emily Wentley!  I was originally in line for a longer-legged standard tri girl in May, but after seeing Ruth was the only mommy who had a tri girl and she isn't the size i really wanted, i was looking in to considering another color.  I was just curious about the wait for Punkin's lemon girl.  She's really adorable and made my heart simply melt when i saw her.  I would love to have her as a new addition to my family.

I wasn't quite sure how far on the waiting list i was so i just wanted to share my thoughts on what i wanted.  I'm willing to consider different options. If the lemon girl wouldn't be available for when it is my turn to adopt could you give me an idea of the timeframe I might be looking at if I wanted to wait for a longer-legged tri-colored standard?" or could you give me an idea of what my options are if I want to bring home a longer-legged female puppy in May?"

I hope you are enjoying all the cuties that are around now.  They are just adorable and i'm amazed you can bear to part with all that cuteness!!

can't wait to hear back from you!

Emily Wentley

Thanks so much to Emily for sending along her care package for little Audrey!

Hey Christi and sunshine gang!

We love, love, love our
little princess! She went on a baby walk the other day and was so cute. We even ran a little bit. She will be excellent as a running partner for me :) She is also catching on very nicely to our life here. During the day we take naps together on my bed and she even slept in my arms today when we napped :)

She really is a beauty and just so adorable I can't help but give her kisses. She gives me tons of kisses too!

Really appreciate all that you did with raising her and helping me find the perfect baby!

Emily Wentley

Ps -there are some pics attached that I thought I would share! Enjoy! The blue toy she's playing with in one picture is a diet poopsie! (She watches her figure lol)

Pictures from Punkin's Previous Puppies

 "Hi Guys,
We made it back home to Florida safe and sound! Ziva was such a good girl on the long drive. She told us when she had to go hurry up and she even pooped for us! She is such a sweetheart and she gives the best kisses.
Thank you sooooo much for everything!!! We are already so in love with her. One cat has already cozied up to her but the other is a little standoff-ish. I'm sure he'll fall for her soon too.
We forgot to ask: what time do you usually feed them? Do you feed them twice a day? We fed her around 5:30 and she gobbled it all up! And oh boy does she love puppy biscuits! We gave her one and she was begging for more.
Right now she is passed out in her bed and she doesn't seem to mind the cats circling her or the noise from the football game on TV.
Thank you again so much!!!
Nina, Donald, Egon, Demian and Ziva Mason"

Hi Guys!
Today we have had Ziva for one month so we just wanted to send an update and a few pictures from the past month.
We absolutely love Ziva! She is so cute and everyone wants to steal her from us so we just refer everyone to your website so they can have their own precious beagle. When she went to the vet to get her 2nd puppy booster she was of course the center of attention. Everyone wanted to hold her because she is just too cute.
She is a great snuggler and she loves the couch. We think she thinks she's a cat though because she likes to sleep up high. She loves her toys, her crate and the cats. Egon and Ziva are best friends (most of the pictures have him in them too because they are inseperable when she sleeps). Demian (the black and white cat) has finally gotten used to having her around but he still keeps his distance.
I am home with her all day so when Donald comes home she gets so excited and wags her little tail and runs up to him at the front door. She is such a daddy's girl! Donald has even taught her how to sit. It's so cute.
She is full of energy and loves to play. We can't believe how big she is getting though! We are greatly looking forward to the future and to see what else Ziva has in store for us.
Thanks again so much for our little bundle of joy!
Nina and Donald Mason

They taught him to stay on his play mat- how adorable!

"Also this is really cool. We have a bunch of these fleece blankets. I've had one on the wood floor since the first night. Mostly so he wouldn't slide so much on the wood floor After a week now if I put him down on the blanket with his toys he'll play just fine but if he steps off the blanket while playing he'll head right back onto it. He knows it's his area. He's also starting to understand my double clap means he's doing something he shouldn't. So if he steps off and I clap he'll head back, most of the time at least. Sometimes he's just determined to see what else is out there. I read something about this in Cesar Millan's new book on puppies. About creating invisible boundaries and how they can understand, respect, and need to have them. Guess that's what's going on. I've included a picture below of him on the blanket. "

"Hi Christina,

I just wanted to say thank you all so much for taking such great care of my new puppy!  Talulah is a happy healthy fiesty little girl with the sweetest personality.  I am having so much fun taking care of her and playing with her too!  She's settling in well and missing her mom and littermates less each day.  Please let me know if I owe any additonal costs and I will be sure to send pictures as she grows into a beautiful dog.  I will also highly recommend Sunshine Acres to anyone interested in a Beagle! Thanks again!

Best Regards,

Ashley Campbell "

We met outside of the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in this beautiful grassy waiting area by the Queen Charlotte statue & fountain.

lol, Cathy sent us this cell phone shot of Mabel & Luke-
" I realized Mabel was young enough to accept a changed environment which included being adopted by our dog at home."

She was trained on the invisible fence system two weeks ago and caught on immediately. She didn't stray far before that though and we see the difference in scenting abilities between she & Luke.  She hasn't a clue why he sometimes runs with his nose to the ground & yelping.

Pretty Mabel!

Mabel has fit into our life splendidly!  She ran to the door for outside business just days after we brought her home.

The tub training lasted about 6 weeks and she graduated to her big wire crate near my bed.  Luke sleeps up next to the crate in the same type bed so they have some togetherness, with their own space.  She slept till 7 since then.  She used to tiptoe in behind him for naps when she was tiny and for a few weeks tried to nurse when he laid on his side, settling for the loose skin behind his front arm :D  He'd look at us like "what is going on here?"  LOL

We also met with Scout's new fam at the airport that day!

"Hello there.  We are totally in love with our little guy.  He is so, so good.  We can tell that he had a great training start with you and we've tried to continue it at our house.  We're taking him out every 30 minutes and he just does his business like he is a pro. The first night when we fed him, he looked around in a frenzied state, crying and looking for his sisters.  It was like he thought they were supposed to be there.  He was fine after a minute or so and proceeding to dig in wholeheartedly.  He really seems to have settled in and seems to feel at home already.
It's amazing how similar his day is to that of a newborn in that he wakes up, goes to the bathroom, eats, plays for 25 minutes or so, snuggles with us and then lays down for a nap.
Saturday night, he went to sleep at 7 pm and kept sleeping and sleeping and sleeping.  I stayed up until 2:30 am, doing chores around our house and anticipating that he would wake up and need to go out any minute before I headed to bed.  Finally I just went to bed and that little sleepy-head slept until 7 am!
He and our 10 months old cat are hilarious together - she totally does not know what to make of him but is intrigued and seems happy to have the activity around the house, even if he is walking up and swatting her with his paws.

The kids are in love, as are our friends and neighbors who have met him. Thank you again for all you have done for us and for Scout.  We will keep in touch for sure and thank you for the wonderful photos on the website.
What a memory!

Corinne S. Smith"

Orange petite girl "Bitsey" was the smallest in her litter

"She has brightened our world, my husband can't wait to get home at night to spend time with her.  She is our little lap dog, she always wants to be in our lap or as close to us as she can possibly be - just what we wanted.  She is about 11" and weighs around 14 pounds, I don't expect that she will get any bigger - her size is perfect, her features are very petite, especially compared to my other beagle. My husband calls her his little thoroughbred, his little "Sea Biscuit" (I don't think we could have found a dog more suited for him)."

"Thanks again, she brings us so much pleasure - every time we look at her it brings a smile to our face.  Her personality is just great.  I saw pics of Reggie on your sight recently, he is gorgeous.  My husband loved to go to the site and look at the pics of him with the ball.  It is fun to get to be able to keep up with Bitsey's litter mates and see what beautiful dogs they turned out to be.  You and your children keep up the good work, we need more breeders like you.  I will keep up my visits to your site to enjoy all of your beautiful pups and hopefully, once I can retire, there will be another puppy from you in my life - there is more room in the bed and more love in our hearts!"

"I've got a toy!"
"hey there puppies, lets share my toy!"

Some of the families who adopted one of her puppies last litter sent us a gift card, to use to thank their " surrogate" baby momma for their new family member.   That means so much to the kids and I when folks are so generous and loving  we just know our babies will have a wonderful spoiled life with them and that's what we are looking for in potential homes for our hand raised cutie pies !!

Jake and Punkin hang out.

 Ruth's Recently Claimed Litter

Entering homes the first week of May!

She had her litter of 6 Puppies ,

all are spoken for now ! these were quickly snaped up !  this is one of the  main reasons  folks decide to plan ahead and get their name on the expectant parents list ahead of time once they are convinced we are the first home they want to adopt from,  knowing we will start them with TLC , just as they plan on giving our little one.

Introducing Ruth Tricolor small standard mommmy

shiny girl!

"Cute puppies! So, I'm going to have my own one day? cool..!"

" My name is Nicole Rouse, and I meet you and your daughter when Mom (Yolanda Rouse) and I came to pick up Ruth back in February.  I loved seeing where Ruth was born and meeting you two!  Ruth and Sally mean so much to our family and I love them both very much!  They are each packed full of personality, and two of the most loving dogs I have ever known.

Since I moved away from home, about eight years ago, I have really missed having a companion.  I have waited so long, because I have been in school and I knew that I was not able to provide for a dog at that time.  I also wanted to wait, because I was not sure of what breed would best suit me.  When the beagles came into our lives, I knew for the first time that this was it!  I fell in love with Sally and Ruth!  I love how Sally likes to snuggle up with people, especially Mom!  She looooves her Moma! :)  I just love how Ruth looks at me with her pretty little eyes, and how loving and playful she is!  I went home the other day, and it was the first day since last year that it was sunny and 75 degrees.  That morning Ruth, Sally, and myself sat on the front porching swing and just sat there in the sun the entire morning.  It was great, and it felt so good to have those two next to me!  I also love how gentle they are.  They are the perfect companion.

I am emailing you, because I would love to have one of Ruth's babies. " ...

Tricolor Boy  (claimed ) by college student "Krista"
I want to claim a puppy! Is Ruth's tricolor male still available? I plan to pick up in person when the time comes. I'm ready as soon as possible and I am thrilled!
Yes, please! This has just made my night! How soon can I get him? I've been asking for a dog since I could speak and I will be getting him, finally, for my college graduation.

Krista and her mom look at the book that Bette Jean had made starring her sunshine acres beagle "Pepper"! Bette Jean had just come out to pick up Finley's brother "Virgil" (aka D-Bo) for her son and daughter in law Bill & Corynn who are foreign diplomats and were in route from Africa to their home in Vero Beach, where Bette Jean was headed to see them!

" Hey!
I just wanted to let you know how wonderful we're doing. He slept on my lap the whole way home and even though we stopped twice in between naps, he held it until we got back. He went hurry up as soon as we got home and  he's gone outside every time. Even the paper was clean this morning! I've been taking him out at the times you suggested and he seems to let me know if he needs to go.

He only whined for about 5 to 10 minutes last night before he fell asleep and he cried 2 or 3 times during the night, but always fell back asleep.

He is wonderful and every time we go outside we get compliments!

Thanks so much! "

Tricolor Girl

She is claimed by Yolanda Rouse!

"Babe" Chocolate Female

She has been claimed by Nicole Rouse & Daniel!! (Yolanda's daughter!)

She is going to allow us to breed Babe in the future just like her mom did with Ruth!

..." I have also discussed getting a puppy with Mom and Dad, so that I could have their input, because it always means a lot to me what they think.  Mom and Dad are all for it, plus they would love to be able to have yet another special beagle in their lives.  Mom even said to me, "Grandma is all for babysitting if needed!!"  I have also discussed this with my boyfriend, Daniel.  He and I have been together for almost a year now, and I honestly believe that he is the one!  He is a wonderful man, and he has been so supportive of me throughout nursing school.  He has a yellow lab mix named Bowser.  Bowser is a year and 5 months old, and he is a sweetheart!  He goes everywhere that Daniel goes, and he is very well trained.  He gets along with every dog he meets, and he looooves Ruth!  When we go to Mom and Dad's, he and Ruth play for hours.  She even shares her toys with him.  They run around all day in the yard until they are too tired to play any longer.

Now, I will tell you about myself and where I live.  I am 62 days away from graduating with my Associate Degree in Nursing (I am counting down the days).  I have worked very hard for this and I am finially at the end of the road.  I will graduate on May 12 and hope to take my NCLEX-RN state boards at the end of May or first week of June 2010.  I currently live on Wrightsville Beach with my younger sister Melissa.  We are moving to a town house in a community called Lion's Gate, which is right on the other side of the Wrightsville Beach bridge.  It is a three bedroom home with two bathrooms.  One of Melissa's best friends from high school is going to be living with us also.  There is a small backyard with a tall wooden privacy fence around it.  No other pets will be living in our home.  I do go over to Daniel's home frequently.  He owns his house, and has a large fenced in back yard.  Bowser lives inside, but loves to play outside too.  I plan to follow your tips on potty training, and I do want my puppy to learn to sleep in a crate at night.  I plan to kennel train and leash train my little baby.  There is a great veternarians office in Scotts Hill, about 20 minutes from my home in which I plan to use.  When I start my job at the hospital, I will work three 12 hour shifts a week.  On those days, Daniel has agreed to keep the puppy with him so that it will have human contact and not just sit in a crate for all that time.  He takes Bowser to work with him at his office everyday.  If Daniel is unable to take the puppy for some reason, Mom is again happy to help out!

I am sorry that this is so long, but I really wanted you to be able to get a good feel about me, where I live, and what I am doing in life.  If you have any questions, or need me to clarify anything please let me know.  I know this is a lot of information at one time haha!  I am going to include my phone number, as well as Daniel's number.  This is if you have any questions or if you wanted to talk with us on the phone.  If you allow me to be a mommy to one of Ruth's babies, Daniel and Bowser will come with Mom and I.  I would really want for you to meet him and Bowser, because they are a large part of my life.

Thank you for your time and I really hope to hear back from you soon!  God bless!

Nicole"

"Yay!!!!!!

I just checked the site and saw that you updated it!  Daniel and I were gushing over how cute she is last night!  We cruised the website for almost an hour last night...that website is very addicting! haha! "

"Virgil" Chocolate Boy

He is claimed by the Stratton's from Algeria! They are the son and daughter in law of Bette Jean, who is the proud mommy of sunshine acres "Pepper" by Domino. Bill & Corynn are diplomats in the foreign service, moving every couple of years, and had plans to be in the states during May. D-Bo's homecoming timeframe works out perfectly ! He will have a big sister beagle "Casey" who will help show him the ropes in his new home!

"Dear Miss C and Family,

We were SOOO delighted to hear this news! We've been pouring over the website and see that Ruth came back to Sunshine Acres especially to breed. This is her first litter, right? Who is the Daddy? Can you send us pictures of him?

What's most amazing about this is that we had already chosen names for our future little boy or girl. No kidding, the name we chose weeks ago was “D-Bo”. Can you believe that?!?! So when we saw that you had named Ruth’s chocolate baby Bo, we thought to ourselves that it must be fate!!! We are so happily surprised and would be beside ourselves to adopt little Bo into our family! Its beyond coincidence. We are so thrilled to give Casey such an adorable little brother. "

" HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY TO CHRISTI!!!!

We introduced Casey to photos of D-Bo today. She's very excited about her new little brother!! Check out the picture!"

Pepper meets Virgil!

Pretty  "Pepper"  by our "Domino" poses for her picture, then checks out the new toy

the Rouse's sent us to give out to each of Ruth's litter when they head to their new homes !

we are so happy to see her and how gorgeous she has turned out not only looks but a gentle and calm temperament to go with the beauty.  She already has impressed a lot of folks Bette Jean says when they meet Pepper they have to comment on how good she is , compared to other beagles they have seen.  She told Miss C. she has surpassed all she could have hoped for in a Pet.  We loved hearing that !

"Hey Miss Christina and Christi, It was soooo good seeing you on Wednesday. We turned little D-Bo over to Corynn and Bill and they are in love. After some thought, they have renamed him Virgil. He is such a good, but spunky little guy. What a perfect addition to our family. I'm sure you'll hear from Corynn soon. Thanks so much for creating such perfect little beagles. Love, Bette Jean, Richard and Pepper "

This is what we saw the first thing in the morning when we got up- they two moms Sissy and Tracy lounging together on the deck's patio chairs awaiting the first one of us to get up that morning and let them into visit their gradually weaning little ones.

Thank you so much for the additions to our family!

Thanks,

Ed & Sara

X-mas updates from jazzi, and from Luci Lu!

( ps. we love it when folks do this... save up Iams and Eukanuba UPC'c off all their pups food and treats and send them at Christmas Time with a photo/ update and card we can show others who come out to visit us as a referral )

"what's this? a plastic Easter egg? I don't really see what all the fuss is about.."

Hello Christine!

My family have been feverishly researching puppies that would best fit our family.  We feel like a beagle would be a perfect fit.   We wanted to wait until our eldest son was old enough to help with the responsibilities of caring for a puppy.  We live in Lincolnton, NC.  We are a family of four:  daddy, Cameron, mommy Stephani, 5 year old son Gray and 21 month old son Mason.  Our boys both love animals and are very gentle as well as loving to my mother-in-law's Jack Russell and mini Pomeranian.  We live in a house that sits on 4 acres, but only 2 of the acres are fenced in with an aluminum fence.  We are hoping to have a puppy that can grow up with the boys and become part of our family.  We want the dog to sleep in a bed in the house.

We visited your website after a referral from a friend who has a sunshine beagle.  We would love to bring Tucker home.  Our son Gray fell in love with his picture and keeps asking about him.

"Rorie" Khaki Mini Boy with a solid head

Rorie has been claimed by his new family from Monroe NC!! mommy Alicia emailed saying she had been watching the website for 4 months, and had fallen for this little guy, and then seeing that we had named him Rorie pushed her over the cliff! She felt it was meant to be since her maiden name happened to be Rorie! This sweetie is going to have 2 sisters in his family who are 5 and 3, and mom will be home a lot as she is a registered who works as needed usually 2 days a week, and will be able to help him adapt to his new home! Dad Michael who is manager over radiology at CMC Union is off this weekend and

"Ranger" Khaki Mini Male with a blaze

nano boy & mini male

He is claimed by Matt & Amanda! Amanda had written us back in February about their desires for a Sunshine Acres Beagle when the time comes!

" Hello there! My name is Amanda, I'm 23 years old and I live in Fayetteville, NC with my fiance, Matthew, just outside of Ft. Bragg. I have been eyeing your website for several months now and have finally gotten the courage to contact you in regards to adopting one of your beagle puppies! I have scowered your site vigorously and am always breath-taken by your pups and how caring, knowledgable, and genuine your family seems to be in raising and adopting out their dogs. I will immediately say that although there a few things Matt and I must prepare and attend to in our lives at this moment before owning one, I know that in the near future we will be very much up to the task! I hope that by providing you with my information, and perhaps gaining some more about you and your amazing dogs, that we can be matched up with the perfect pup in a time soon to come. :)

First, a bit about us!
I graduated from the University of Denver in Denver, CO, last March ('09) and moved out here to be with Matthew last August. Matthew has been in the Army for the past 4 or so years and will continue to be so for about the next 5. I currently work full time at Starbucks right here in the heart of Fayetteville, and we're actually considered the busiest store in the entire southeastern quadrant of the US! Quite a difference from the lax environment I had while in Denver, hehe. Anyway, I usually work between 33-40 hrs a week and never exceed such. Matt currently has a 9-5 job on base in Ft. Bragg. Unfortunately, working at Starbucks means weird and often variable hours, so I don't have a "set" schedule like he does. Having said that, however, I have been working mostly mornings until early afternoon (mostly just past noon, actually), and am home way before Matt is. When I do work evenings, I am usually home all day in the morning and into the afternoon, and it's only a few hours before Matt arrives home. We both are very lovable, goofy characters and we laugh all the time! But we also know when to be serious and attend to matters that are pressing and important.

Matt has had cats all of his life, but has this magic touch with dogs that's honestly kind of hard to explain - they respond to him, and he absolutely adores them. Either way, he has always treated his animals as if they were his own children. He even trained his cats when he lived back home, and who ever knew you could train a cat? (I didn't!) He is very responsible and very loving, a very
gentle man in an extremely gruff and tough job, but he never fails to attend to those who need him most. As for me, I have never personally owned a dog either (unfortunately!!), but have taken care of, dog-sat, even dog-trained numerous k9's who belonging to close friends and neighbors for extended periods of time. I own quite a few dog training books and watch dog training shows on TV constantly! I absolutely love dogs, and have been eyeing beagles in particular for many years now. As kids, my parents refused to let my sister and me have anything more than birds and lizards growing up, their reason being that they already had two kids to pick up after and they didn't want a third one to add to the "chaos," lol. Obviously, my parents were overly stressed. :P However, I have always wanted a dog - badly! In fact, a friend in college rescued a beagle of her own my sophomore year, and it was the most amazing little dog I had ever met. As I got to know her, and even dog-sat her several times, it more and more came clear to me that a beagle was the dog I wanted to have and love. When my friend and Pi moved away, I told myself that I would work towards owning a lovable beagle of my own one day, no matter what! :) I guess I just never felt I had a big enough reason to finally jump in and adopt one (a.k.a. break free from my parent's mentality) until I ended up moving in with Matt. He is going to deploy this next August to Afganistan and will leave me alone in our apartment in a city and state that is still fairly new to me. Not that I'm without friends or anything, but it will be lonely and so I am looking for a little companion to teach, grow, and have fun with while he's away. And when he's back, to integrate as a natural member of our family..."

I also read on your site that these "rarer" colored beagles tend to shed a bit less than their tri-colored counter parts, and don't get as affected by heat. Matt has a slight allergy problem to dogs, nothing that a claritin won't fix, but anything that could lessen his stress with that would be extraordinarily helpful. Size is not super important, but I would prefer a petite standard size female beagle. Other than that, I just want a beagle who can be happy being a couch potato one moment and actively on a walk/jog the next! As for obtaining the puppy, I don't see a reason why we couldn't drive up, but if it is an issue that's definitely something we will discuss in more detail as the time approaches.

Wooh! I think that's a long enough email for you to sore your eyes over. Again please feel free to contact me with any further inquires, and thank you SO much for taking the time out of your busy schedules to read this!! I am glad to have found a breeder that seems to care so genuinely and have such a unique passion for their beagles as you do. :) I hope to hear from you soon!

Warmest regards,
Amanda

"We really appreciate your knowledge, this is why we're so excited to adopt from you guys!! Buttercup is absolutely adorable, and we were actually talking about adopting her quite seriously. And now say she's caught up on all her shots AND doing crate training? That's so fabulous! BUT, we have some bad news...well, the army does. We were just told a couple days ago that Matt's shots will have to be pushed out a few weeks due to a week of out-of-state training! :'( Considering how allergic he is, we just couldn't see taking any dog home now as a good idea... :(

On that same note, we ultimately decided that saving up for a khaki would really be our best option considering his allergies. We saw that you have some puppies coming up for spring! Like April or May - we feel that would be the perfect time to adopt considering he'll have had a few shots by that time already. And we completely understand about the non-negotiations about the khakis, we know that there are so many things yall have to take care of and that initial expenses for any puppy isn't cheap, let alone several dozen! So no worries, and thank you for being so honest. Now, for some GOOD NEWS!! As luck/fate would have it, I JUST got a new job offer (today actually) that will pay me substantially more than where I'm working now, so saving up for a khaki seems completely doable!! Talk about things happening for a reason, right? hehe :)"

 "Hey sunshine family!

Thanks for such a quick response! And for the congrats on the new job - I'm stoked! And yeah talk about perfect timing. :) I'm going to be a Leasing Agent/Consultant for the corporate company that actually runs the apartment complex Matt and I live in, though I'll be working at their sister site just down the road. They are called "Blue Ridge Property Management." They're super awesome, our own leasing agent has even turned out to be a great outside friend of mine! Haha. Mostly I'm excited though because not only will it pay me better, but it'll will finally get my foot in the door of the professional/corporate world, and I didn't work so hard in college for almost 5 years to get my degree to work at Starbucks for the rest of my life :P hehe (not that there's anything wrong with that, just not what I want or planned, ya know?). During the interview, the manager even hinted at some big potential opportunities for me to explore my creative side in the job as well, from web site design and development, to posters, brochures, event planning, etc. THAT got me pumped, since I graduated in graphic design. :) Thanks so much for the inquiry!! You guys are awesome, and super sweet! Are you (Christi) and Cody still in school? If so, where are you guys with that? Any plans for the future (school-wise)?

As for pre-approving us and allowing us to send in our deposit - OMG THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Omg omg, we are SO excited!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! I will let you know as soon as the envelope hits the mail (I'll try and get it out tomorrow, but if not, definitely Monday). It should only take a day or two before you get it since you guys only live about 2.5 hours away :)  Wow, I am beyond excited!!! I'm going to go shopping for puppy stuff now!! Haha. We are so looking forward to joining the Sunshine Acres Family too, and thank you so SO much again for this amazing opportunity. We can't wait to get on the list and bring home our baby girl!! :

Much love,

Amanda + Matt

"Oh. My. Word!!!!!!!!! Ok, just saw the updated pictures of the Shelly's khaki male pups and completely fell in love...I did see the lemon pup that Pumkin had, but also know that someone else is in line for her, which is totally fine because Shelly's pups are where my heart is now, haha. Funny how that changes, huh? So yep! That's it, we're set!!! We are either interested in Shelly's khaki boy with a blaze, or the one with the half 'n half muzzle. We have decided on a name, Matt came up with it -- we're going to call him "Ranger"  (since one of Matt's ultimate dreams and goals in life is to be a Ranger in the Army, and of course I think it's awesome because I fully support him in it). Please please PLEASE let me know if either one is claimable! We would like to start the claming process, get up there, meet you guys (finally!) and take him home as soon as possible. :)

Thank you SO so much for all your patience and dedication. You guys are truly the best and I don't believe we could've found a better family or breeder to connect with, no matter where we were. :) Hope to hear from you soon!!
Much love,
Amanda "

"We are SO ready, Matt keeps on saying "when are we going to get a puppy?" or "I just want a cuddly little puppy...I want him now!!" (this coming from a 24 year old man in the military -- they truly are SO adorable!) And of course I'm on your website every day at all hours, hehe. ;) It's funny when I read your statement about agreeing with Cesar Millan's way of training -- I can't express enough how much of an avid fan of his I am, in fact two days before I got the links to your guidance page I had already ordered two of his books! And I NEVER miss a new "Dog Whisperer" on NatGeo. You guys are the epitomy of amazing!! :D"

"OH MY GOODNESS!!!! AHHHHHHH we're SO excited!!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! We are more than ready to pick him up this coming weekend! Shall we set up a day and time? Does Saturday work for you or is Sunday best? We can do either one very easily. OH my gosh, we are so happy Christi!! When I read your email I started crying -- happy tears of course!! And then I instantly texted Matt and he is beyond ecstatic!! He said he got a big flutter in his heart and tummy at work, and he's supposed to be all serious and army-like, hahaha! This is the moment I've been waiting for for SO many years, and Matt of course has ALWAYS wanted to be a daddy! :) It's a feeling like no other to be joint parents with the man I'll be spending the rest of my life with, and for an amazing little pup like Ranger. I'm so happy he is your favorite khaki puppy ever, too! haha. That makes it even more exciting (I dunno, is that even possible? hahaha). You guys have been SO good to us, emailing me back with promptness and being so patient and answering all our questions...and now providing us with our little boy! We are eternally grateful.

Ok, serious time, lol. Please let me know when would be a good time for us to come up and meet/pick up Ranger. I will make sure I get the car ready with all our gear (puppy stuff) and prepare for the 2.5 hour trip up to Monroe. I'm also compiling a list of questions to ask you guys once we get up there, I hope that's ok, hehe. :P Wow, omg WE CANNOT WAIT!!!!!! You've really touched our lives, Sunshine family, and given us the most amazing gift -- God bless you guys!!"

"Rondo" Khaki Nano Boy

He has been claimed by the Coyles!!

 Hi Ms. Christina and family,

"After looking through your website 5 times a day for the past week (lol), I know you are extremely busy!!  As you mention it is addicting to say the least!!  I am just checking in with you in case you didn't get my email last weekend.  If you've been too busy to check then I apologize for sending a second email.  I just wanted to introduce myself and get acquainted and hopefully approved and eventually on a waiting list.
I am so picky!  I have been searching for about a year now until I found your website.  I am more than impressed to say the least.  Everyone I have come across seems too pushy to sell their pups to anyone to make money.  That is until I discovered Sunshine Acres Beagles.  You are everything my wife and I have been looking for.  After researching your website we are extremely ecstatic with the training they receive from you from day 1 due to the fact that we are interested in an inside companion.
With that said allow me to introduce myself.....My name is Kevin and I live in Rhode Island with my wife Nancy of 2 years.  We have been in search of adding a new member to our family and would love to be considered a candidate by you .  We have our own home with a decent backyard all fenced in.  We are also a walking distance from a beautiful park that we'd love to take our pup to.  Outside of work, we like to spend most of our time at home, which would be ideal with a new addition to the family!  I plan on reading up on your website much more but I was just too excited to wait and contact you!
We would be willing to wait for a special Nano mini pup in Khaki whenever available.  I did see that you mention how rare they are so we would consider a mini khaki pup as well.  We would love having a doggie bed next to ours or I'm sure we can find room in our bed.  :O)  In regards to personality, we would definitely enjoy a well rounded personality to adapt to our lifestyle.  I hope I answered most of your initial questions for now, but there is plenty of time to get acquainted.
We look forward to hearing back from you at your convenience.

Regards,
Kevin & Nancy Coyle "

" Hey there!!!  Happy Easter!!!  oh my gosh he is too cute!!!  I do hope he likes to go for walks too! Especially with the beautiful weather up here lately and I see everyone walking their dogs, I can't wait to join them with him.
Please let me know the next step at your convenience.  I have looked through your website and I'm guessing I should work on contacting airlines because unfortunately we wouldn't be able to make a trip.  I hope thats not a problem??

We are so excited!!!!
Kevin and Nancy "

Since he is not a petite nano, we decided he would be sturdy enough to fly home via PetSafe, since Continental allows us to use a big padded quiet time cuddler bed in our crates, we knew he would be able to nap on the way up to Rhode Island.

he just loves coming over and climbing up in my lap!

 "Justin" Case
Khaki Mini Boy joined the Case
family from NJ

His new dad flew into Charlotte Douglas International airport Tues. and met with Miss C. and Christi at the park-like Fountain area so we could talk over our tips on training and show him how too darn cute this guy is !!!

He has a long blaze, and his bandana looks like the letter J !

Justin's new dad didnt want him to fly home without him so he arranged to use some frequent flyer miles and come pick his new boy up , we met him at the airport so he could get to know his pup before the trip onboard the plane with him; we had a nice new soft sided carrier he purchased for justin to ride home in and use his blankie and toys that the family had already sent ahead to us to let the littermate's scent get on so that he would feel at home with everything and all went really well !

David said boy you just cant tell how very tiny the mini pups are on the internet... he is amazingly little !

They were considering both this fellow and the Nano ( runt) boy in this litter, and we guided them to this one for their kids to enjoy... he will be plenty little enough we assured them and the kids can enjoy playing with a less fragile petite boned boy, the nano was almost too tiny for child's play truthfully .  We've already heard back from David's family that this was the perfect one for them to love !

Everything's great - Justin is the star of our block! Everyone wants to stop by to see him.

Regards,

Dave

Christi,

Hi, it's been a few days now - sorry for the delay in getting these pictures to you - we've been having such a great time with Justin - non stop fun!!!

Thank you for taking such good care of him- you can tell from his disposition that he received lots of love and attention when he was with you.

The children are taking great care of him and he's been going outside for his "business" !

We love hugging and kissing him and he gives kisses when you ask him for some--see the pictures...

Thanks again for matching us up to the perfect puppy for our family-

The Case Family

" Justin is doing just fine here in NJ.   I brought him in for "Show N Tell" where I work and everyone loved him! "
-Irene

Irene's Dad feel in love with their lil guy, and recently adopted his own Sunshine Acres Beagle, "Bosco" a nano sized chocolate male from Truffle's litter!

So we got to meet with Dave inside the Charlotte Douglas International airport due to the weather that day outdoors.

He took cute lil Bosco on board the plane just as he had done with his own pup Justin !

"Milo" Khaki Nano boy( runt )of the mini litter

 next to his  moms leg

Joey from CA flew here to pick him up and take him back on board with her to join her & her son Nicholos. She emailed us in search of the perfect pet for her home, telling us how Nicholos is unable to be rough or rough house, or play contact sports due to a medical condition, and is a very gentle boy who was in search of lil puppy to be his lapdog!

Hello again!
Milo is doing great! We took some great pics and I'm waiting for them to be emailed to me beacuse my blackberry cameras just doesn't take good shots. I borrowed my stepdad's camera. I will be sending them soom! I also wanted to let you know I ordered you a new heating pad today so you should be getting it soon! Again thanks for everything!!
Joey!

Hello again!
Milo continues to do well! He is such a joy! Even my parents enjoy having him over! They get a kick over how little he is and when he walks around its soo funny. He has a tiny teddy bear he carries around with him its adorable! Nick just loves him ans so do I. More pics to come!

We love finding just the right matches for each one of our babies!

Blue comes back to Sunshine Acres to Board~!

"Baby Zoot"

first contact from her new family...

We are just beginning our search for a  puppy - for family pet purposes only. My husband really wants a Beagle - and although I agreed that they are adorable...and wonderful with kids...the only Beagles I really  knew were the neighbor's hunting dogs - So I started looking for info on the internet KNOWING it would tell me all sorts of things (howling, running...) that would not be our best indoor dog option...and it did - until I found YOU! I feel like we hit the jackpot!
I'm obviously most concerned about overall health and temperament and, of course, who will fit with our family. I have 3 kids (ages 6,8 and 11) and a husband who is home during the day( and loves to keep company with a pup). We also have two acres to play on with @ a 1/2 acre fenced and an invisible fence for the front (better "roll around" grass and hills!). We lost our old dog (rescue mutt) earlier this year. We do have a lot of wildlife (deer, rabbits...) close and am concerned about how strong that tracking instinct can be with a Beagle- I REALLY want a pup inclined to stick around with appropriate fencing and training, of course - more than anythng.

We knew our beagles especially the khaki ones are the least interested in hunting and tracking ability... they even bark less... some khaki beagles in our bloodline have no bark ... we dont claim all have this genetic potential but its neat that at least a half dozen over the years have been like that !

Thanks for considering us for preapproval -

We'll keep watching the updates on your website - and I won't let my emails get buried :) They're all attached!

Cheerfully...Enthusiastically...Brown Nosing,

Liz Zitterkopf

P.S. I just have to say - Christi, I am so amazed at how you keep the website together and updated! I know it's not the only thing you do and it's easily a full time job - very impressive!

I have to admit I've been watching Pepper's YouTube performances too - is this crazy or what!?!?!?

Miss C. and christi love brown nosers... they keep us going with their upbeat comments and make it all worth our long hours into the nights..

sometimes I get up at 3am to check on the little ones and find daughter Christi still up hard at work writing emails into the wee hours so she can keep up ...

hearing folks love what we do helps us keep goin when others would call it a day !

she flew home to her family the Zitterkopfs in Grand Juction Co. !

The Zitterkopf family sent pictures!!

She's here! She's perfect - and we don't know how we ever lived without her!  Here are a couple pics - more to come later!

Thanks - Liz

Her new family travels to Motorcross events and wanted a smaller beagle to go along with them .

Here are some updated photos of our Zootie Patootie! We're having a ball with her - she's SO smart and darling!  I agree with others comments on the size thing - your minis are much tinier than they appear online - I can't even imagine a nano!- Our Zoot has tripled in size since we got her! She weighed 6.7 lbs at the vet last week - as you can see from the earlier pics, our 25 lb Cocker dwarfs her! It reminds me of that moment when you have your 2nd child and the toddler you thought was so little suddenly seems like a MONSTER child around the new baby! LOL

I'm with you Christi on keeping the girl from Belle's litter! she's darling in pictures and if her personality is even half as cute...she's a keeper! obviously my favorite to watch grow up online right now too!

Thank you again!

Velvetine's Claimed Litter

Introducing Velvetine

she is a khaki -colored  mini mom

Velvetine growing up

she is a daughter by "Velvet" a khaki mom we have already retired.  She had the softest most Velvet like fur,  we loved her coat.

khaki's bark the least of all our dogs..and have the least "Beagle stereotype like" traits

Pregnant little lady she's such a tiny doggie !  Velvetine is a sweetie

this shows some perspective ... how high up on the front of the couch and how much bigger our runt sized :" Grace" is (sitting on the couch) vs tiny Velvetine

daddy "Cooper" is a khaki mini stud!

Khaki Mini Guy with a solid head and white on back

He has been claimed on Easter Day !!

by the Inkapool family in sunny  Tampa Florida !

Tag as a newborn

open marked ( white areas on his back)

"Hello there.. :) "

We had such a nice long talk with them we all really enjoyed getting to know one another !  Christi had eating healthy in common and loved learning from them about some of their food from home that they eat, as well as getting some huge crackers like they told us folks in their country hang above their heads in the kitchen on strings to store until needed.  They gave some to us to try ! They also gave son Cody some special chocolates he and Miss C. loved with Carmel in the center !

The daughters being in college at the time didnt get to come up to pick him up so they sent us pictures in their apt. home of him.

We have already had several folks who have met our cutie down there ask about getting their very own Sunshine Beagle, and one family who met him in downtown Tampa on one of his walks has adopted a khaki boy "Benson" from us and had him shipped via airplane to join them !

We just love word of mouth referrals , its our best source of good new happy families for our little darlins to go to !

Our sincere thanks for spreading the word about our homebody beagles go out to the Inkapool family !!

Khaki Nano Male with a blaze

" Percy"

He has been claimed by the Steiber family from upstate NY!

Percy as a newborn

Hello All,

I would like to introduce myself to you (Chris & Gail Steiber). We were a family of five but two of our kids (Kaleigh & Tyler) are now old enough to find there way in the world. We have a fourteen old son (Garrett) at home. He also follows in his mother foot steps in loving animals. We rescued a Shepard (Darotio) cross from the animal shelter a couple years ago and she is very much apart of the family we also have 3 cats a lizard and some fish. Right now I am out of work so adding a puppy right now would work because I am home all day long. My husband works for a division of GE. We live in the country on 31 acres in upstate New York. I have a small horse boarding business that I do on the side. This puppy would be for my husband he has seen the ones on your web site, he loves the idea that they like to snuggle into the neck and he wants one just like that. I notice that Shelly had her puppies and they will be small. I also  realize that I might be to late to be put on the waiting list for them so I am hoping to start the process for the future. Let me know if you need any other information or if you have any other questions that you would like to ask. We will be waiting to hear if we have been approved. Thanks so much for your time. I think that you have a great web site.

Thanks again

Gail

Chocolate Mini Female with a Blaze

   " Binkie"

she has been claimed now by a family who asked to be approved as a home for this darling little lady !

She will be flying home next week to her new family in New York !

(our thanks to the Howell family for the donated sheets to use with mommies and puppies )

Miss C. baked up some brocolli/cheese and mushroom quiche

and we bring little "Binkie" in to get her used to being around us while folks sit and talk and eat... she is very polite and calm and shows what a little lady she is while we sip our coffee and eat breakfast this am.

socialization is a part of the training that benefits the pups most ,

we like to get them started here at home so they fit in ..

she is a surprise for some little girls in New York !

Autumn's Litter

Buster Chocolate runtsize Male
DJ Khaki runtsize male
Chocolate Mini Female (adopted!)

 Introducing  Autumn

mini sized Orange female Autumn was the runt of her litter by momma Brandy!

here we are measuring her to the top of the shoulders which is level with the book...  she's less than the foot high mark .

"DJ" Khaki runtsize male

"Wren" aka DJ Khaki runtsize male was adopted by a repeat customer looking for a friend for her sunshine beagle to play with !  He flew home to Calif. to join them !

darlin DJ. is a lighter shade of khaki than most , we think he is a new shade variation that reminds Miss Christina of the coral sand beaches in Hawaii where she lived with her folks when in High School ... the beige sand sometimes has a pink/warm tint to it.

They are very sweet , and watch patiently and attentively for human guidance.

And, the grand finale, his name will be Wren McCormack Hafner!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> "Ren McCormack" is the main character in Footloose (who stands up for his
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> beliefs!) and "Wren" is from a Kenny Loggins song called "A Love Song". I've
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> been going through a Kenny Loggins phase (hehe) and was considering what
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> song I would first want to play for him, and that song came to mind... the
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> chorus goes:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I want to sing you a love song
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I want to rock you in my arms all night long
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I want to get to know you
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I want to show you the peaceful feeling of my home
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> How perfect! The opening verse of the song also talks about a
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wren, "the love in his lullaby," and how the wren is inspiring him to
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> express his love. It just all fell together so nicely; I think that DJ will
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> have the character to bear his new name. :) As an aside, Maddie's full name
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> is Madeline Rigsby; "Madeline" being a favorite Hanson song from my youth
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ("oh my Madeline, here we go around again...), and "Mattie Rigsbee" is a
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> character from my favorite movie Walking Across Egypt, who is respectable
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> for helping "the least of these." Maddie's name couldn't suit her better! :)

Wren goes home to join Sarah and her mini tricolor Maddie in California!

Thanks again for ALL you did getting my new darling here, and THANKS SO MUCH for the months of work you put into him before he got here, it has made this whole process do-able for me!! I can't wait to learn more about Wren and how our little family works -- these guys are what make grad school and being 2500 miles from home worthwhile!!!

Quick update: Maddie and Wren are establishing boundaries and figuring each other out, looking good! When they're on walks (in neutral territory), Maddie is being a very good leader and going hurry up to show him and is always looking back at him to make sure he's coming along.

We get SO many comments about his color and how beautiful he is, when we're at the park and the dogs separate, sometimes I look to find Maddie and she's off running around and chasing dogs, then I look over and Wren is being smooched on by someone or being picked up (when he was smaller), and wherever we go we're followed by "awwww"s - both for Wren and Maddie! I must have the cutest and sweetest dogs on the planet. ;) I also get comments on their small size and how they're trim for beagles (although Maddie put on a couple of winter pounds with the rain, park time will help her trim up so she doesn't strain her joints/petite little legs!) and how sweet they are. It was too funny, there was another beagle at the park yesterday (you really don't see too many out here!) and Wren walked in and spotted her immediately and ran over like "Oh, my family!!"

Hi everyone at Sunshine Acres!

Today is my little beagle boy's first birthday, so I thought I'd send along a short update! I've attached some pictures of Wren (formerly DJ) and his big, but smaller, sister Maddie. I've had Wren for about 7 months now, and he and Maddie are still getting along great! He was definitely the right choice for our house - he and Maddie play well, he doesn't cause tooo much mischief, and he's such a lover boy that he'll still come try to sleep on top of me. One of his greatest qualities, which I've never had in a dog (much less a beagle!) is that he COMES when he's called! All I have to do is even whistle from another room and he'll come running in. Maddie has a little too much attitude for that ;) but of course if she knows I have a treat, she'll come running from the other end of the park... true beagle! Maddie still gets a little jealous of Wren, if he's getting attention or has a toy, etc., but hopefully she'll get a little better in time.

The dogs love to play with each other, ALL the time, they wear each other out pretty well. Their favorite activity between playing is lying in their windowseat and watching people outside. Wren sometimes gives a warning howl if he thinks something is off, but he's good at not being excessive. Maddie usually wags her tail when she sees people outside, she just has to say hi to everyone and be the center of attention!

Wren is a runt size and Maddie is a mini, which is hard to see in the pictures, but he's definitely taller and longer than she is, so his big sis won't be picking on him for long! He's finally growing into his body and figuring out how to control his movements, he still lumbers around the dog park a little bit but he's getting fast. He loves playing with the BIG dogs and trying to keep up with them. So much entertainment for me after a stressful day in grad school, who needs cable?

I'll send another update with more CA things later, we're hoping to camp on the beach soon and I'll send along a beach picture when we get to. Thanks again for your great beagles, and especially for raising Wren so well those first 5 months and helping me choose him!

Sarah, Maddie, & Wren

"Buster" Chocolate Runsize male

Chocolate Runtsize male "Pluto" aka" Buster" has found his forever home !

friends of Jake and daughter christi came out to meet puppies for their  daughters Birthday gift ...

after meeting our loveable Buster they decided he was perfect for their young kids to enjoy,

still small due to his runtsize.. even at 7mo. old he still was puppy like...

however all his shots had been done for them already saving money and time on vet visits..

and he was already sleeping in a crate, and their little children werent tempted to lift him up by his neck as they had tried to do when meeting our tiny youngsters here . He just sits and watches as they play and loves it when they play with him !!

He was one of christi's favorites so we made an agreement that when he was older,  he could come home and sire a litter or two for us !

  whaz up??

Mom walks in to check on son Cody and finds he has kept Buster in bed with him that night...LOL>>

ok , time to rise and shine guys ... Lots to do around here !!

He is very attentive and is up for whatever plans you have in store that day, whether thats

playing in the backyard, or getting cozy by the computer screen.

He and his ( recently adopted by a repeat customer) brother DJ,

are very calmly attentive and happily interactive, they adore people! awesome short less shed fur.

Buster and DJ are wonderful lap dogs, with a sweet playful nature,

his coat is very short and less shedding than that of a typical beagles fur !

"Fudge" to left, "Buster" on right avail. chocolate boys.

good boy Buster sitting patiently in his bed and always paying attention!

Christi and Jake met pastor Martin and his family up in Mooresville, and after learning more about their church at their home, Jake & Christi decided to donate the drum set to their place of worship. Martin and family also learned about what we do, raising family oriented beagle puppies, and decided to make a trip to come down and pick up the drums and meet the pups!

They fell in love with beautiful Buster, and claimed him with their deposit, went back home to get ready, and that following week Christi and Jake drove Buster up to Mooresville to join his new home!

Buster spent the night at Jake's mom and step dad's house in Mooresville, and hung out the next morning with Christi & Jake!

Christi and Jake spend time with Buster before taking him to his new home!

Once the Jensens got home that afternoon, Christi & Jake came over to introduce him to his new home and join his family!

Buster sits with the kids for pictures!

Buster checks out his new home, then follows his new friend over to watch her play in the children's area!

Chocolate Mini Female ( now adopted )

She has been claimed by waiting list members the Clauss family  who joined a while back for a small chocolate female between Thanksgiving and Christmas time!   they told us that one son has alergies so a less shed coat was a preference for their family !

Emily gets her new toy, and shares with her littermates for one last snuggle, then take their scent back home with her to her new forever home with the Clauss family!

they brought some toys to put in with the littermates to play with and get their scent on ... the pups loved her things and had a good time with them before she headed off to her new home... and the brothers even wished her well and gave little sis a big Good Bye Kiss !

Puppy Pictures from Autumn's Previous babies:

  '  Peaches  '

we loved her looks personality and less shed fur , so we kept this cutie to enhance and upgrade our breeding for indoor housepets !

 "Ms. Christina,
I emailed you about a week ago about being pre-approved family. From watching the site every day (every minute) I know you have a lot of things going on with getting your puppies ready to go to their new homes. Just wanted to let you know that we are here and ready when you have the time. I have fallen in love with Sienna's puppies. Especially her chocalate mini with the solid head and the tri mini with the narrow short blaze. If that is not possible, I would love to send you deposit until it is our turn. Your site really is amazing, I got excited this week when you posted who claimed certain puppies. It reallly is nice that you update it so much. Your dogs are just beautiful! Thanks again for condering us.

Lynne and Family

Hi..... My name is Lynne and our family would love for you to look at us for a pre-approved family to adopt 2 of your puppies. We heard of your website through the Brown Family of New York who just adopted to girl mini's. My family is a family of 9 from Lindenhurst, NY. It is myself (35),a stay home mom ; my husband, Tom (37) who is a high school teacher in the same town we live in ; my son, Cabel who is 12 ; daughter, Hara 11; daughter, Shay 9; son, Finn 7; daughter, Riley 6; daughter, Delaney 3 and last daughter Kaelyn 2. We have been looking for the right dog for our family for awhile now and I always go back to a beagle. We are done having babies of our own and now are ready to add a dog to our family. We started out only looking for 1 but after looking at your website (every day) we would really love to adopt 2.

So I'm a stay home mom with 5 kids in school and 2 at home with me. We live in a 4 bedroom house with a nice size backyard. Our backyard is fenced in. We have a old pack and play that I'm going to use for the puppies and then when they get older we would have a dog bed for them. I would have the pack and play in my room and then have the dog bed in my room also. My husband is a teacher, so we are both home for the summers. It was actually him we said we should get 2 dogs. So the whole family is aboard.

We really love the tri mini's and chocalate mini's. I really love the nano's but think that it may be too small for our family. I think i would prefer girls.

I hope to hear back from you. We really don't have a prefernece of when we can adopt.

Thanks for taking the time to consider us."

Tricolor Mini Female with a short wide blaze

She loves to play with her toys and show off prancing around the box,

and then when you say its time for some downtime, she calms down for snuggles.

After spending lots of one on one time with her, Miss C decided she can't let this one go- she loves her too darn much!

 Lizzy's Adopted Litter

Her litter of 6 has all been adopted!

Introducing Lizzy:

she is a tri colored  standard mom.

daddy "Pepsi"  a chocolate standard beagle

(Sally now retired,  is Lizzy's mom ,

she loved to hang out with us and watch tv.

on the ride home she brought a toy in Yolanda's front seat !

She lives on an Organic Veggie Farm with Yolanda and her hubby Vernon since we retired her a few years ago.  Her new mom loved having her around so much she got a puppy from us for she and Sweet Sally to raise !  We had hoped to keep "Ruth" for ourselves for breeding but when we found out it would be fine for her to come back on her 2nd heat to be bred since we already knew what a great home they were giving our Sally Wally , .. we let them take her to enjoy the one on one !  Sally always did love to take any moms puppy to care for,  and love,  she was such a great dog.  We miss her alot around here but know she is enjoying having to only share the couch with ruth and her new mom or dad is easier !  Ruth is now expecting her first litter and living at her home near the beach till its time to come back to sunshine acres and have her little ones...first  dibs goes to sunshine acres, second goes to Yolanda's daught

"SSally Wally sure made some cuties back when she was one of our mom's  !

this previous litter had silvers, and  chocolates, the day her baby heads home she says ,

"psst. take good care of my Puppy ! "

these gentle kids pass mother dogs approval and she is happy to send him into their family !

she had one of our favorite personalities , so cute and loving to one and all , she loved other dogs and puppies so much her new owners got a puppy later to join them to give Sweet Sally Wally someone to love and enjoy playing with...

( they got Electra's " Ruth" )  Recently ruth was here on her 2nd heat to be bred , she returned to her home and will come back in 2 months when its time to deliver her little ones !!  Her litter will be ready in May and we are so excited since her coat is one of our least shedding tri colors we hope to keep a girl from her and work to continue our quest for the best indoor qualities!

And like recently adopted puppy by Eclipse we called Bernie. the kids and I were talking the other day about how all the bernie puppies we have ever had* have always been so innocent and sweet natured .  we love these guys alot !

(and there have likely only been maybe 10-15 in all the Twenty years of breeding beagles we see them and then its a long time sometimes before we have any others ...)

"Koa" Tricolor Male with a wide blaze

male and female

He is claimed by the Fisher family from GA !

They had contacted us at the very end of 2009 to join the waiting list for a tricolor male after Christmas,

"I have always wanted a beagle but with our past lifestyle it didn't seem fair to have a dog since it was unpredictable when I'd be traveling or working late and of course Bruce works too.  But now,  I'm retired from the Army (20 years!) this month so stability will be part of our life, yay! "

They saw their name up in the Its Your Turn box when we announceed it last night,
and now the very next morning they have emailed claiming their newest family member!!

Yay!!! It's our turn!!!

We would be delighted to adopt Lizzy's little baby tri-color male with wide blaze, who we intend to name Koa (Hawaiian for warrior - but you probably already knew that).

We can't wait to see the pictures of him as he continues to grow.  I will start my puppy shopping and mail you some items he can share with his litter mates until he comes home so he will feel more comfy in his strange new surroundings.

I will also review the new puppy tips on your website to further prepare for his homecoming.

We plan to drive up to pick him up when he is ready to come home.

Thanks bunches,

the Fishers

Runtsize Tricolor Female with a blaze

She is going home saturday to a single guy recently retired from the Military who will have plenty of one on one time to train his new puppy and take walks in the nearby park!

Hello,

My name is Terry and I have spent a lot of time on your website. This is by far the most informative website about beagles I have come across. I thought I was well versed in the beagle world, but after reviewing your site, I learned so much more. As such, I am desiring an addition to my life. I have had 4 tri-colored ticked beagles in my family. I am recently retired from the military and have the time that is required to raise a new family member. Being single and living alone, this would be a great pairing. They make great feet warmers and snuggle partners.

I am currently looking for a tri-color female runt of smaller parents or a mini litter, not the silver kind. The brighter the colors the better. While I know that size cannot be guaranteed, I will trust your guidance on the best suitable one.

I do live in a condo, but it’s next to a park that caters to dog walkers, etc. As I am recently retired, I am looking for a single family home, that would provide a yard as well. I am an avid walkerl, which I feel is just one fun part of having a beagle as a companion and being part of a family. I would of course due crate training as a youngster but they always end up as a bed pillow J.

I will continue to look at the pictures and viewing your website, while waiting your guidance. Thanks in advance for your help.

Terry

we could see the pride in his eyes as he met his new best buddy to be ! He has already sent us pictures of her hanging out in his place !

He had told us of his love for a beagle pup with freckles and though most of our line doesnt have alot of them, this girl did, and she was just like what he had asked to find so the two were a great pair !

Terri got here shortly after the family picking up two sisters by Domino and soon both he and they

realized they had both been stationed in Virginia Beach at the same base...

"Bella" & "Mattea"

Tricolor Mini Female & Khaki Mini Female Beagle puppies

These sisters went home together with a pre-approved loving family from Enterprise AL!

The Jones had studied our website for a couple months and then emailed in November seeking pre-approval for 2 of our babies!

    " Miss Christina,
Hello! We are the Jones family and we have been studying your site for a couple of months. We are very interested in getting a beagle puppy. My husband, Mark, is a Colonel in the Army and has been in the military for 25 years and will be retiring in 2010. I (Sheila) am a stay at home Mom for our two children and 13 1/2 year old lab, Madison. Zachary is 10 and Caeley is 8, so as you can imagine they are very anxious to get a puppy since Madison was our "first born". I just wanted to get a couple of opinions from vets on getting a puppy with Madison. They seem to think it would be an awesome idea for both Madison and the puppy. We do have a large fenced backyard and we also have an invisible fence for the front yard... "

"...We are torn between the "normal" tri color and the khaki color. We are wanting to send you a certified check so that you know we are very serious about your babies and we can get ourselves on your waiting list. Please email me with any questions that you have about us. I attached a couple of pictures of us...just so you have a face with a name. The kids found our neighbor's pet turtle in our backyard :).
Thank you so much for what you do, Sheila Jones (& Mark, Zac, Caeley and Madison too) "

We hadnt had the chance to see their emails and approve them for a puppy when they first wrote, and a week later their family kindly resent their email so we could see it and added an update!

"The puppies will sleep with our kids. Once we are approved and we get the ok we will make a family trip to Sunshine Acres to pick them up. The reason I am now saying them is that we want to "Get Two" females. Zac and Mommy would like a mini or runt khaki and Caeley and Daddy would like a mini or runt tri color. Thus, we have decided to ask you to adopt two of your babies.

We look forward to hearing from you, and look forward to meeting you, Christi, Cody, and Jake. "

They waited patiently, checking in to remind us of their family's details, so that we could have the chance to approve them when reading over the many new emails we can receive a day to our inbox. We greatly appreciate their understanding nature as they sought to begin an adoptive parent relationship with us, and patiently looked forward to raising two of our babies once everything worked out perfectly !

"Bella"  Mini Tricolor Girl with a blaze

"Miss C/Christi,  Don't you worry about all of us anxious Moms (and families)...we are just so excited.  I couldn't believe it when I got on today and saw that Domino delivered today, so soon after Sandy.  My daughter wants to live with you and all your babies :).  She also can't wait to see pics (she is hoping Domino had a mini female tri for her).  You are so busy... I thought maybe things might settle down for you after the holidays....but Wow...I guess not.  Take care, Sheila and family "

Miss C let them know Domino was doing good and her babies are precious, and seeing their interest in Domino's little ones, let them know that we did have their family in mind already..!

Miss C,  Thanks so much for the note.  We will wait to hear from you...(that means I will go back to being patient...LOL).  Please tell Christi how much all of us addicted to your site appreciate all of her pics.  Thanks again, Sheila

( We really loved the family's wonderful personality, which shone through in their emails to us as they stayed hopeful and followed along throughout our unique process of matching our families and babies.

We could see how involved they were in watching our website for updates and learning from new information, and could tell that they would be consistent in sharing that same considerate nature with their new family members, as the whole family was involved & committed to successfully adding & raising their very own Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppies.

Their caring personality and updates made us so much more comfortable in allowing them to adopt & raise 2 of our babies, thus having their family join our extended Sunshine Family.

"Mattea" Mini Khaki Female with a narrow blaze

Miss C/Christi,

Hi!  Just checking in.  Caeley's birthday is Feb. 19th and Zac's is March 14th, so I was wondering if you think it is possible that we could get two of Domino's babies?  In "our perfect world" we would want her mini tricolor girl with a blaze and her mini khaki female with a narrow blaze.  Don't mean to bother you all, because we know you are very busy, but we are so excited about adopting two of your precious babies.  Hope you all are enjoying the snow, the pics were beautiful.  Thanks, Sheila, Mark, Zac and Caeley

A few days later once we were able to work everything out on the waiting list, we got back to them, thanking them for their birthday wishes to Jake, and letting them know the great news that we would be happy to let their family claimed their favorite pair in honor of their kids' birthdays!

We just love to see everything work out perfectly and folks get the ones they love!

When they came out to pick up their puppies, they told us how that day they received our email saying we worked it all out and they could claim the two babies they had fallen in love, they were so excited Mark & Sheila instantly talked on the phone about having received our email with the wonderful news! They told us that momentous email would be forever kept and remembered!

Christi/Miss C,

WOW!!!  YEAH!!!!!  We are soooo excited!  Yes, yes, yes we would love to claim them (and will love them:).  The baby tri will be "Bella" and the baby khaki will be "Mattea" (Zac and I were studying names and we ran across the name Mattea which in Hebrew means "God's Gift" and we thought it was perfect!).  I think we will call her "Mattie".  Saturday the 20th sounds great!  We will travel on Friday and stay in one of the hotels that you all reccomend on your website and we will be available at whatever time is best for you on Saturday.  We love your puppies! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !  (Caeley wanted to add that sentence...and we do.:)  We believe we are about 8 1/2 hours from you all, so I was thinking about the valerian root extract for $10, if you all think that we need it.  We can't wait to do some shopping for our little ones!!

I hope Jake had a great birthday and sounds like you all had fun.  We can't wait to meet all of you and our new little ones.  Caeley said this is going to be her best birthday ever!!  Thanks so much for everything, Mark, Sheila, Zac & Caeley

Finley is curious about the little ones, and wants to play ! little Mattie offers friendship as she gives the visitor kisses!

I have shared the newest additions to our family (through your website) with the folks at work, they can't believe that there is a breeder like you, they had no idea!!!  Christina, you are truly doing something special and need to be commended for your love and dedication to a wonderful breed.  We are very thankful and blessed to have found Sunshine Acres; and now thanks to you, Christi, Cody, and Jake, we will bring our new babies home this weekend.
Sheila will call after noon on Saturday as we drive north from Columbia.
All our love.

Mark Jones (Sheila, Zac and Caeley)

Mark said he would walk through the room and catch his boss on the website! One of the ladies who works for him also had the website up and when he saw she was admiring the babies she told him she sent the link to her mom who was looking for a companion!

Many of our forever home are found this way- by our families sharing our website with others so that they too can learn all about our family & our mission in producing family-oriented beagle puppies for families across America, and then happily begin their own adoption process with us.

The Jones came up from Alabama to meet us and welcome home their newest families members. They talked about having read through our website and all its details, and it was obvious that they are completely dedicated to adding their new Sunshine Acres Beagle Puppies to their wonderful family for a life of companionship !

Dad stood for a moment smiling, saying "I have to take it all in, we're finally here! We've seen this room so much on the website."

We send our deepest appreciation to the Jones for their love & kindness !

They came bearing thoughtful gifts for the family as a thankyou for everything. They brought a generous $100 PetSmart Gift Card  to help us in our mission of producing quality companion beagles, and nurturing our babies with the best! They gave camoflage bookbags for the guys- which camo is currently Cody's favorite thing, and Jake has already put his pack to good use when going to his uncles and packing along a few things for the stay. They also brought a beautiful journal for Christi's love of writing.

They had even  read our bio's with care and commented on looking for Christi's poems, hoping to see some of the writings. Thanks to their interest and encouragment, a blog for creative and enlightening takes on life will soon be in the making :)

All set for the ride home with their new girls!  As they load up their girlies into the car, the family arrives to pick up the last orange gal by Darla who we held onto till the Mom and daughter who claimed her can fly down to take her home with them !

Mini Silver Female with a wide blaze

She & her Khaki Sister are the smallest of the litter!

  such a snuggler !

She went home to Lily for her birthday!

Paige had emailed in Jan introducing us to her  household, telling us about her daughters & boxer Willa, and how she was really drawn to Domino's litter. She later told us that Lily was out of school for fall break, and she had taken the week off from work. They were up from Atlanta and staying nearby in Concrd over the week.

We waited to hear back from a couple who were in line ahead for a silver mini female, and once they let us know it was not currently a good timeframe for them, we contacted Paige to let her know her daughter's birthday wish could come true!

They came out and welcome home their new family member before heading back down to Atlanta~!

the perfect Birthday !

she was a little worn out that morning , my  kids often  play with ,and say goodbye to a  favorite puppy who will be leaving us.. she almost slept thru the new families visit !  sometimes pups do this since my children have been with the puppy for so long they fall in love with each one .. and hate to give it up  , so we spend time that morning saying goodbye we love   U  ...&

you go be all you can be !! LOL. we think we found just the right home for you to go into who will love and appreciate you for your unique qualities...

she gets to take home a familiar toy !  Her littermate the runt sized slightly large tri sister's new dad sent along lots of toys to share with the littermates and do as "we saw fit", he said !

in she goes to head to her new home !

Domino's Previous Puppies' Pictures

Christina and family -
I just wanted to take a minute to update you on Gunner, Domino's silver nano male from last years litter.  Although I renamed him Toby, he recently celebrated his first birthday and has become a fantastic companion and most handsome animal.  Fully grown now at 15 pounds, he stands about 10 inches at the shoulder.  He has a fantastic personality and the 'voice of a beagle'.

I am so happy to have him as part of the family.  He travels with me regularly for work and charms everyone he comes in contact with.  Although he didn't care to watch the Super Bowl -he was totally mesmerized by the Puppy Bowl.  I have included a couple of pics of Toby at one year so you can see the fine looking boy he has become.

Thanks for allowing him into my life - even now he is asleep on my lap.

Best regards,

John A. Fullerton
Sterrett, AL

silver mini/ nano sized "Yada" joins Ashlea & Josh Gilreath from Starkville MS !

'I just know you guys
would be so proud of her! Her little personality is so funny! She is
playful and happy all the time! If her toy drops off the couch (since she
can't jump off couch yet) she will sit there and bark at it as if she is
saying, "Hey you! Why did you do that? Get back up here!" She makes Josh
and I laugh all the time. She is so loving and is so happy to see anyone
who comes across her path! Here she is-climbing in my lap now! Oh, and that
reminds me..her coat is beautiful! So soft and shiny. And her eyes? They
are such a lovely color! Everyone who meets her talks about her eyes and
coat color and how beautiful they are! I'm laughing at myself now because I
am just repeating the same words over and over..."pretty", "beautiful",
"cute", "happy"...Please-just indulge me. I know you understand since you
raise these beauties!"

Adorable christmas card of now all grown up Yada and her family,

Thanks so much for the update Ashlea & Josh!!

Pepper from Domino's last litter a year ago, goes home to the Gilberts!

Dear Miss Christina and kids, Well we've had our little Pepper for a week and she is perfect. She is everything I hoped for. When I found your website, I stopped looking at others, knowing that I had found the place for me. Pepper causes a stir where ever we go. People stop to take photos of her. She is very social with other dogs that she encounters on our daily walks. But best of all she is a calm, gentle cuddle bunny. After puppy play she loves to snuggle up and so do I. I don't even remember life before Pepper Time. My sons and their wives are here from Chicago and Mumbai, India and they love her dearly. My husband is also smitten. Thank you for our perfect little baby.  Bette Jean Gilbert  PS I've sent many photos and YouTube links. I hope you were able to enjoy them.

( peppers u-tube videos have attracted many-a followers,

who fell in love with her antics --almost getting swept away by a wave at the beach,  and more fun times, with her new family !)

Miss C. was in fla. visiting her folks and emailed back and forth on her blackberry letting them know they were approved as a great home for one of our Sunshine Beagle Puppies..

( sometimes I like to make a short contact to let someone I like know  THEY ARE  going to hear from us they just need to be patient, and daughter Christi will contact them once we know the details about their home offered for one of our adopting puppies ).... MISS C.usually doesnt do the computer work now christi handles it for us but ...knowing Christi and Jake had their hands full caring for training and taking care of the parents while running the place for Miss Christina and might not get right back to Bette Jean .  I knew they would provide the home this little Princess would love to excel in , so I wanted them to stick with us --we will get to you !****LOL  >>and sure enough it all worked out to pick her up on their way to one of their homes and meet with us to go over our tips and instruction in person.

one family told us over the weekend they saw me on utube giving worming medicine to pepper and felt like they knew me..awwe isnt technology awesome ?)

one young couple contacted her for a reference and she gave us flying colors ! they came up from Ft. Lauderdale and picked up their new son, ( first child) a cute little fellow to be their only child till they do have some of their own !

thank goodness for us his new mom worked for an advertising co. and saved us newspapers, they brought a trunk full and we are only now just getting to the last of their donation ... wheew they and others like joyce and spencer who went to the hotels and asked for their old ones for us have saved us sometimes ... the Kelgrin girls who bring and ship us wee wee pads to use and hand out to the families who are traveling home with a new puppy in the car.. the floorboard makes a quick rest area for a pup if its crying to go..and there isnt a rest area in sight !  we love sharing greenies folks send us and rawhide treats especially those flat bone shaped ones one future customer sent us to hand out to folks going home with a new puppy in the car to entertain .

one morning we are about out and along came Yada's mom with those she had brought on the plane !! thanks to everyone who knows its more work to paper train pups before they go into new homes and appreciates the constant work that is for us to do it, as well as the constant demand we have'

 For MORE !!!!

they have homes in both Penn. and Florida, so we get pics of her from their warm southern home , they brought Miss  C. a t-shirt from Vero Beach Florida

and a ball cap..( miss C.  loves those for middle of the night runs to the vets office for a c-section)

lol... the couples main home is in Penn. christina's dad grew up there !

. My little Pepper is just perfect!  I broke my ankle and was stuck in a chair for 7 weeks and she was my little cuddle friend--really kept me good company. I look at your website often. Have a wonderful holiday season with your kiddies and pooches. Bette Jean

visits to  the Tip of the Keys,

as well as  the snowy days in her Northern home !

Lots of folks have told us they had found pepper's videos on youtube!!

one young couple said they talked to her owners ,and got our web address , so they could get their own sunshine cutie !

I'm trying to get one of her videos to go viral with millions of viewers! Michele Artimez contacted me after seeing one of Pepper's YouTubes with questions about Sunshine Acres. Of course, I gave glowing references! Every day I thank God for my little friend and I am just amazed by how adorable she is. Have a great holiday with your kiddo-s and doggieo-s. Bette Jean

Hello Mother, I see you're quite busy with new babies. They are soooo cute. I'm sending you something in the mail because I love you so much. Love, Pepper    PS I'm happy I'm on your website again! xoxoxo

Pepper celebrates her first birthday and sends her love to her mommy Domino and new little brother and sisters!

Thanks so much to Pepper from Domino's last litter and her parents BetteJean &Richard Gilbert from PA/FL!!

 playful Pixi princess pose

Day 1-2 Update:

Well, can you believe that we were over 12 hours in transit!!  With the 2 hour car ride, 2+ hours plane delay, 5.5 hour flight and drive home - and get this -- Pixi slept the WHOLE flight and did not whine once!  I woke her up 3 hours into flight to go piddle on her wee-wee pad which she did promptly.  Then we visited the woman in seat 11A who wanted to meet her.  (She lives near Monroe and has a daughter that wants a dog - and she grew up with Beagles, so I promptly gave her your card!!! LOL)

When we came home - we played wtih Pixi for 1 hour and then put her to sleep.  She went down with no crying and slept for 6 hours!!  In fact the only reason I think she awoke was that I turned up the heat in the Apt and noise woke her.  I bet she would have slept longer.

Now she is meeting Holly for the first time.  Jon just put her on the floor and she is chasing my 73Llb labrador around the room -  Histerical.

I will send pictures later today!  Got some good ones from this AM when we played .

more later,...

karen

p.s Thanks for everything yesterday .  I will cherish the day we spent!

Holly is greeted with a pixi kiss! lol

Subject: Pixi in kindergarten

Well - she went to her first day of puppy "kindergarten" with the most excellent dog trainer to the "stars" - Mike Wombacher.

She was the hit of the class !!    Mike (trainer) said in over 16 years and 20,000 hours of training he has never seen a nano beagle!!!  He was impressed.
And his wife has met Pixi last week when i had her to the house for an "assessment" -- she loves Pixi!!
So cute and she did really well -- and we had 1 other small dog in the group -- so that is who she played with in "socialization time".
Along with the cutest and most docile HUGE bernese mountain dog!!

I was very proud of our little girl.  And we got a cute outfit for her -- I have a picture I will email you of her in her new designer harness and leash!!

She is sleeping 9 hours per night with no widdles.  Amazing!!

We are going to go to Tue puppy "mutt-tini" night at the local puppy day care .....Its a Tue night soclal with wine and cheese for adults and puppy play groups -- and a special group for tiny dogs.  I hope to get a reservation for next Tue night.  Will send pictures if i can get into it.....

karen and the gang...

I have already given out 1 Sunshine Acres biz card -- to an old friend/boyfriend - who is the one who turned me on to labradors...and now he wants something smaller and cuddly, so i gave him the sales pitch on mini beagle (he doesnt need nano).  And tomorrow night we go to "Mutt-tini" night -- Wine, Cheese and Martini's at the fancy puppy day care in SF where they have Tue night "Mutt-tini" night for adults and their puppies to have social hour.  I KNOW that some mini dogs will be there and they rope the play groups off for the tiny dogs.  And one of the guys coming has a maltese/chihuahua mix that is in our kindergarten - and he wants your biz card cause he loves Pixi so much (i think he wants a second dog).

BTW:  Jon says there is a new Palm software update -- so tell christi to look on the phone (i think it is the gift package logo) to hit that and auto download the newest release -

I will send you some pics of her in the papoose carrier -- its too cute.

Finally, I am talking her down to meet my parents, go to my office and see some friends thursday -- The friend is an amateur photographer and she wants to get real shots of Pixi .....Im sure she will help
chronicle her life ......

i have one in pink too!   and the leash is pink with cupcakes on it  .........

i cant wait to send you a picture of her in her pink cashmere sweater.!

these come from one of the local , yuppy pet stores - where her kindergarten classes are held!

the picture is great - she is an awesome photographer.

Pixi in her new pink cashmere sweater!!

"Sandie" & "Sadie"

Khaki Mini Sisters flew home together via Continental PetSafe
to the Brown family from NY!

John Brown family had emailed a few months back, introducing us to his family and their interest in finding a good match for their pet home. He told us about their home in the big city with a small backyard, and their family

"We don't want the maintenance of a big dog and were actually looking at shedless dogs.  We happened to stumble upon Beagles as we were researching shedless dogs by visiting pet stores.  All of the pet store owners were trying to sell us Beagles after we were not interested in the shedless dogs they had.  This led my wife to search Beagles on line, which led us to your website.

Please let us know if we are a good fit for your Beagle's.  We are particularly interested in the mini or nano, silver or khaki, variety (since they shed the least).  This time around we want a true lapdog.  Also, my kids are not crazy, LOL, and very gentle.  They are already talking about who's bed the dog is going to sleep on.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated."

Christi got back to him about our mini indoor companion beagles, and agreed that a khaki or a chocolate would be a good choice since less shedding was also important to them. Our khaki coats are usually the ones with the very least shedding, as well as some of the other coats such as Chocolate, perhaps silver, certain orange, and every once in a blue moon a tricolor, depending on the parents. While they all have to lose some fur seasonly it is much less than the amount you'd expect from a stereotypical longer fur tricolor hound found in most other beagle lines, those oiler coats also often have an odor  we hear folks tell us their previous beagle had had, which we have worked to breed out of our lines over the years, for that goal of an indoor appropriate lifestyle.

Christi let them know that they could join the waiting list pre-approved to find their match, and also mentioned that we did have two silver mini males with wonderful coats & personalities who their family could be considered for if ready.

 "Hi Christi,
My name is Chyrise. I'm John's wife. He's been forwarding the emails between the two of you. We did see the two silver pups and they are gorgeous. That is what made us fall in love and decide indefinitely that we wanted a mini beagel. They look just like my Dane but in a much smaller version. I miss my girl terribly. She was an outstanding animal in both looks and personality. Im so glad I found your website. I didn't know there were so many variations in color. That's why I research everything. I did lots of research before I bought my Dane and it was forth it. So obviously a beagle is a change but I think a small dog will be more manageable with all of our children. I swore I wouldn't get another dog after the heartache of losing Abby but I truly miss having a dog and my children deserve to have the unconditional love of a
canine companion.
Unfortunately my husband forgot to include that we prefer a female. We were wondering about Sandy's upcoming litter. She's a mini so I assume the dogs will be small. The smaller the better for us. And yes we would like a khaki or a silver that sheds the least When is she expecting and when would thebpups be ready for their new home? Are her pups already claimed? The other question I had was regarding the shipping. We are in New York and wanted to know if shipping is very costly or is it minimal? Just things we are trying to calculate. Having six kids is a bit expensive so we have to consider the total cost of our new addition. The children are so excited that we have started this process and we can't wait to find a dog that's right for us.
Thank You For Your Time,
Chyrise "

Miss C wrote back referring them to our shipping page, and letting them know that while we did have many folks asking about Sandy's,  many folks in line wanted males, and we also would be expecting another mini mom to have a litter of khakis & chocolates if Sandy didn't have enough for those ready for that timeframe.

" Thank you so much for the info. I appreciate your time. It just so happens we walked into a pet store yesterday and wouldn't you know they had a blue female. What are the chances of that? We played with her and fell in love with the breed. Noway I would ever buy from a pet store though. You don't have any way of knowing what you're getting. Anyway, if it's ok and if we've been approved, we would like to send a deposit so that we can be put on the list to choose a pup when available. After playing with the pup yesterday, who was on the larger side, we definitely want a nano or mini. We like the idea of the dog staying small. When are the expecting mothers due? Although we are eager and excited to have an addition we do realize we have to wait our turn and it could be a while before our perfect pup is born. I don't want to come across pushy or annoying with my questions. It's like waiting for Christmas! Haha!!! So let us know about the next step and thanks again for your time.
      Chyrise  "

We completly agree with Chyrise when it comes to caring about where your  puppy is coming from. We just can't believe a breeder would send a puppy to a pet store instead of finding a wonderful loving family themselves. Years ago a big pet store in Charlotte approached our family  when they opened, and of course we said no way could we ever let just anyone and everyone handle and potentially buy our babies like that!

We are thankful for responsible families who care to learn about our family & the years we have put into developing these babies and making happy family matches, and really appreciate everything we do here while also keeping the website up to date for everyone to review, follow along, and benefit from, so that they can feel confident in committing to their lifelong companion pet, and introduce themselves to us so we may begin a good relationship with considerate adoptive parents!

Miss C.'s daughter Christi gets a kiss from one of the girls before she leaves for her new home for all the training and paper changing, water, and foood  ,  treats, toys, guidence, cudlling , corrections... attention , and love they recieve daily from her here in our home.

Miss C.s daughter Christi not only keeps up the website by taking pictures , editing it , and adding to our site nearly daily, but for the most part she handles the many incoming requests we get from folks across the Nation who have seen our site and spent the time to get to know all they can about us from it, and shown they agree with our way of finding fantastic Pet Homes for our House Pet Beagle Babies one at a time...        and show it,  by following our preferred way of doing things...

she also attends school at a nearby community college .   So she really likes it when someone waits to learn from the site before just e-mailing and asking,  "what do you have ?"  or, " what are the prices" , etc. all of which is handled for all to read on this site vs  Christi or Miss  Christina having to individually do  : uploading pictures takes time .. for each new inquiry.. each new person who asks .. each day...

we usually just have to move to the next e-mail when it is really obvious someone hasnt read the site yet... and if they do and come back to us in a few days with more of the info. found here in hand , and ask about joining the waiting list for a future pup of certain preferences ... or better yet..possibly know what particular available puppy shown on our (daily updated if changes happen ),"Grid" showing one picture of each pup that has no waiting line at this time . meaning anyone can ask and get qualified to adopt that puppy we have satisfied our lines for that size, color, gender etc. and you can take it home that weekend or sooner, if we agree on a day prior that works for everyone !  If you know you have fallen for one of the puppies, just place its name in the subject line , trust me , those we look at first, vs Beagles.. or some generic subject we see lots of.

It happens we can miss a great one from time to time simply cause we stayed busy with newborns etc. for a few days or an email we would have loved to approve gets by us when its the last on the page and by morning when we get time to check its on the next page over... etc.

or...

Sometimes we admit.... someones e-mails are long, and ask lots, and lots,  of questions..

and its super late like 3am.Sunday eve., and Christi, and or miss C. are up doing new pictures for Monday morning Home makers, and office workers across america to enjoy..

yeah we do think of that , and know it gives you something to look forward to seein when you get to your desk guys  !

so we give up sleep to get it done whenever we can..

( It comes back to us many times over in the great friendships the kids and I have developed with so many of our loyal

Sunshine Beagle Pack extended family across america !)

( we get lots of hugs around here when our loyal followers arrive at long last...)

sometimes its just  hmmm....answer the email,  or go to bed finally....

now that the website is done for the night..! LOL  !! and all the puppies are tucked in tight !

and we just have to  hope they will read  more and come back when they have  !!

And the good ones do.. they do their research and read further and fall in love with our cuties and just decide they have to have one to enjoy themselves , they can see many happy folks who did the very same thing and how it all turned out for each one of them... So they write us again and attach prevous emails for us to reference, and maintain a great positive attitude about getting approved as a good home for a sunshine beagle puppy to go into !  those get thru to us and get our attention so that we say happy to have you join our big beagle pack of beagle lovin fools !!

"  Hi Christi,
We just wanted to send our Congratulations on the newest litters of little darlings. I can't believe how when I first started this process only a week ago I was just looking for a new canine companion for my family and now I am completely captivated by the whole process. I have fallen in love with your sunshine beagles. When I read late at night that Sandy had delivered her babies I couldn't sleep the entire night. I was so excited! I was like an
expectant mother. I find myself constantly checking the pages for updates. I've purchased my other purebred dogs(not beagles) from breeders but never have I experienced anything like this. It's amazing to see how the pups grow and to trace them back to their mothers puppy days. I enjoy looking at all their different faces. The way you guys do this is absolutely incredible. It's amazing how much you put into your beagle puppies and their forever families. I don't think I've ever wanted a puppy so badly as I do now. I can't wait for the day we claim our own and bring her home to be a part of our family. This is so much more then going to the pet store and buying a dog. I thank you for allowing me this opportunity and congratulations again!!!!!!

"Sandie" Mini Khaki Girl with a solid head

Hi Christi,
we know you're busy tending to the little ones so we are sorry for all the emails. We just wanted to make sure you received our deposit. We also wanted to know if you might consider approving us for two pups instead of one. After reading about providing the puppy with a stuffed friend to cuddle with, it broke our hearts to take a puppy away from it's mommy and littermates. So we just melted after reviewing the "get two" section and thought why not let them cuddle and grow up together. There will be more to love and there's lots of kids in this house to give love to more then one puppy. We have visions of the two of them rolling around in the yard and running together at the beach. We would love two sisters. We still have the same preferences we would just like to double the fun. So when you can, let us know what you think.

If we had the room we would take one in every size and color. They truly are captivating. So we just wanted to update our preferences and we will keep checking in on your announcements for all the exciting updates. Hope y'all are finding some time to sleep!! Take care!

We let them know their turn was coming up soon and after we hear decisions from the Jones taking their turn to claim their own mini Khaki & tricolor pair of girls, they would be able to claim their own mini girlies!

Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!!!!!!!!! I'm shaking and running around with excitement!!!!!! I don't even know what to do with myself right now. Go to the website of course!!!! Ok we need a little of your help. So size is pretty important to us as well as shedding. We would like a pair of small girlies.

Hey guys,
Ok so it's 3:00 in the morning and I just got home. My husband and I went on a date for the first time in almost 10 years. It was nice to be grownups. So before bed I had to get my beagle baby fix and I saw the pics you posted of sandys babies. Thank you!!thank you!!!!thank you!!!

"Sadie" Mini Khaki Female with a blaze

Hey you guys,
Has Karen definitely claimed nano khaki baby? It's funny cuz we were discussing the possibility of taking the two sisters and I said let's just wait and see what you guys had to say about the other pups first. We completely trust you and value your opinion and if your suggesting the girls are what we are wanting in a pup then let's do it!!!! My kids are off this week from school and we were thinking it would be so great to pick up the pups from the airport and bond with them without worrying about all the other activites. Is it too soon to bring them in the beginning of the week? Also do you have shipping supplies that we can purchase from you so we can fly them home without having to wait for us to have the items shipped to you? If you have everything then we will just buy from you. Also can you tell us our payment options and cost so that we can get the money to you in time. If it helps I do have a paypal account. Right now we are discussing their names. We are out of our minds excited. --chyrise

We began making plans for the girls' homecoming and they booked their flight home through Continental and had them home in time for their week home! They were able to purchase our new crate, bed, and travel kit which we keep on hand here for moments like these, and prepaid via paypal so that we could take the girls to the vet for them for their health certifications and letters of acclimation to fly out of state, and check the girls into Continental for their flight home.

Since we started this process my kids have been made to take care of two stuffed doggies as if they were real. They walk them feed them and clean up their poopies. How funny!!! We have our puppy rules posted in the kitchen. My kids know to follow my lead and if you ever met my 150 pound great Dane you would be impressed about how well trained she was. She never even walked out the door before allowing me to go first. She was my pride and joy. She was the first dog I had ever raised from a pup and I think I did a fine job. The kids were able to stick their hands in her bowl while she was eating. Pat pat on my back ;) ha ha ha!!!!!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this so special and for allowing us to have them this week. It's going to be an incredible bonding time. Gonna call continental now and I'll get back to you and I'm gonna send the payment now. Our solid head girlie will be called Sandy and our blaze girlie will be called Sadie.  Just let me know those weights so I can call. Thank you sooooo much!!

This is beyond words. I actually took the playpen I had from my babies and I put their bed and their newspapers in it to mimic your set up at home. Upstairs for when we go to bed I have them set up next to my bed. I used a little baby pool and set that up the same way. When it's warmer I will start their outdoor training. I found a great vet. I feel bad about not having enough time to have sent them beds and stuff for their litter scent . Do you think they will be ok? I did send some things for the other pups . It should arrive by tomorrow. So anyway if there's any changes let me know and if not I'll contact you when they arrive. Thanks again for going thru so much rushed trouble for us. You made six kids incredibly happy. I'm already planning for my next girlie. A silver nano baby ;).

Chyrise sent updates!!

I can't find any words to describe these baby girls. The pictures don't do them any justice at all they have an outstanding color. I didn't imagine they would be so tiny.  The wait was so worth it. I'm glad we were patient even though it was a very hard thing to do. Thank you for giving us this spectacular experience. All our appreciation for all you do --- the brown family

Hey you guys,
I needed to take the time to tell you that your girls slept for 5 hours. They woke up and cried a little. I gave them some lovin(ok lots). They did peepers and then back off to sleep. I absolutely did NOT expect that I would actually get some sleep. Everyone that looks through your web pages needs to know that these babies are so much more then a photo allows. Their color is not just " khaki" like the pants. It's like lilac. It's so beautiful. And it's the softest coat we have ever felt on a dog. My kids said that when they took them out of the crate at the airport a crowd gathered around them. In fact the woman who was awaiting her Labrador wanted our baby girls instead. Haha! This was one of the greatest decisions we ever made. I'm so happy we got two babies. It's amazing how you guys just know how everything will work out. I can't believe we finally have sunshine beagle pups. Now I can take a break from checking my emails obsessively ;). I still can't get away from that website though. I have a feeling that when people see them you guys are going to be shipping a lot of pups to
New York. Speaking of which my girlfriend Lynn called me in a frenzy last night needing to know everything I could tell her about the whole experience because she had just sent you guys an email requesting to be an approved family(the McCandlesses). I turned her onto your site a few weeks ago and she's been hooked ever since. She asked me about sandys nano baby and I told her that she's very popular. We had even asked about her ourselves. I can't imagine how small she is as a nano based on how small our girlies are. I didn't expect them to be so teenie tiny. The pics make them look big! They are cuddling together right now. So glad they have eachother. Well I won't take anymore of your time. I will let you breathe for a while ;). I just needed to once again express my gratitude for breeding such magnificently beautiful and well behaved puppies. So glad we didn't settle for the pet store ;). You guys rock!!!!!!!!!! --chyrise

We've recently approved the McCandless family who the Browns referred to us, and they have now claimed their very own pair- the Chocolate & Tricolor mini sister pair from Sienna's current litter!

Thanks so much to the Browns for spreading the word about our family-oriented beagle puppies!

Hey sunshine gang,
We thought you would enjoy some pictures of your girls. They are doing incredible!!! It has been less than a week and they are sleeping through the night. 9 hours straight!!!! Can you believe it? They wake every morning at 7:30 and are eager to get going with breakfast and playing with the family. They have definitely identified me as their momma and cry every time they see me. They just want me to love them. It is soooo cute. They have adjusted so quickly. They have completely exceeded our expections in every way! Thank You again for allowing them to be a part of our family.

P.S we bought them a big pink kiddie pool that has plenty of room in it so that they can run around and play but without the ability to have free range of the house. It is working perfectly because the kids can sit in there too without the worry of them breaking free. We even put their paper in there and they stop what they are doing and go potty. They are so behaved!!!!What a delight!
Enjoy the pics and we will be in touch,
Chyrise(The Brown Family)

"Oh that was the least I could do after all you guys did for us. Yes Whatever was bothering Sandie  seems to have passed. Thanx! I'm
so glad Kona found a family. He was so gorgeous. I can understand why you would be sad. It's funny cuz this whole process is bitter sweet. It's like a pregnancy. There is so much  excitement and anticipation while  waiting for your little ones arrival
and when they are finally here, you can't wait to begin your life together but at the same time your sad that the pregnancy is over. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love our girlies but I must admit I do get a bit sad now when I'm on the website. I feel like
all the pups are a part of my family.  I'm happy to see them adopted but sad to see them go. I can't imagine how you bring yourself to do this time and time again. I miss the excitement of waiting for our turn. But then again I'm one of the few moms
out there that is actually sad to see  her kids return to school after summer break. Haha ;)!!! I hope all the pups find their forever families and you try to make some time for youself before the spring litters arrive. I'm sending  you a huge "pat on the back" for being
Awesome!!! Hope you got it :)
---chyrise"

Thanks soo much to the Brown family for their kindness!! We are enjoying the sweet gifts a beagle keychain, a book filled with dog poems, and a journal for jotting down ideas for writing, and we have already used the petsmart card for goodies!!

we just wanted to drop you a small note and let you know that Tango is doing great. He has joined our family with ease and even the cats were easier than I thought to get adjusted to him. The little kitten Einstein and him are best friends. Took Tango to the Vet for his first wellness check and boy was he a hit at the Office. We got so many oohs and aahs about him and everybody said he was just adorable. I have included some pictures as you can see Tango and I love to nap and snuggle together and when I am working on my computer he will lay down and keep my toes warm. Now that the weather is starting to warm up we are able to get him outside for a bit now which he loves. But the funniest thing is you can take him outside to go potty and once he is done he runs right up the back steps and stands at the door waiting to get back inside. Its like that with playing outside too, when he is done he will sit at the door waiting to go back inside. Normally dogs cant wait to get out but with Tango he cant wait to get back inside. He is also a little kissing machine. He will get in  your lap and start licking your face and wont stop LOL. I have woken up my wife Sandra many times in the morning by sneaking in the room with him and setting him down on the bed he will get one look at her and attack her face with kisses. I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know everything is good and we are loving every minute with out little guy. I saw this quote the other day and thought you would enjoy it.

"Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring...it was peace

Hey guys!

Hope that you all had a wonderful holiday season.  Bringing Roscoe home was definitely the highlight for us.   I can’t believe how well he has adjusted!  Only one mildly sleepless night and he’s been a perfect angel boy ever since!   He’s steady on his legs now and eager to explore his new home.   We moved him from the tub to a kennel yesterday and he slept all night!!!    We’ve eased into his relationship with Bingo, since our older boy was accustomed to being the man of the house.  Over the past couple weeks they’ve gotten to know each other and when I arrived home from work today, I found them playing happily together in the kitchen.   Looks like their gonna be good buddies.

By the way, I wanted to let you know since we couldn’t remember when we picked Roscoe up, Bingo’s parents wer Black Midget’s Rowdy & Cindy’s Dazzeling Coco of SA.

I’ve been spreading the word to folks around here that the sweetest beagle puppies are at sunshine acres.  You all take care!  We’ll send updated photos as he grows!

Someone recently mentioned using a web cam to allow them to see what their puppy was doing in the tub while they are at work ... what a great idea , they told us it is easy to set up and not expensive to purchase them
