Adopted Adult Dogs

Occasionaly we have available adult beagles looking for homes.

They may be beagles that we have rescued, are placing for a customer who could not keep a dog (moving ect.), or retiring adults of ours that we would love to see in a great pet home for some one-on-one attention and companionship. After a few litters we like to find good pet homes for our dogs so they can be the center of someone's world.

Already Retired Success Stories!:

Baby Girl "Rini" found a wonderful home!

she now lives at the Beach with a couple who has taken in 5 cats, and she and all the cats are now sleeping with the folks !!!

Too cute , they wondered if she would get along with their kitties at first since we dont have any cats here for her to have had experience with..

we told her just like with a dog who already lives there... first you introduce them and then put the new family member away for awhile and go back to normal ... then more time together each day allows them to gradually see the new pet is ok and actually look forward to having it come around more and more till they are fine with it joining the gang on a permanent basis.

     $295.

she is a super sweetheart.

she got to move to the beach with a couple there who had 5 cats.

her new family says she is a perfect specimen of  a tri colored beagle !   they spoil her rotten and buy her clothes to wear in the winter and let her sleep with them and the kitties in their bed ! We know when its a perfect fit with one of our ladies and are so happy to see them fit in well !

"My husband is smitten with Baby Girl.  He brought her to my office yesterday for "Show and Tell"!  And he has been checking out the doggie apparal on his many visits to the store to find a selection of dog foods.  He wants to determine which brands and flavors that she likes the best!

Mini beagles and her cat friend!

 " Miss C,

All five cats and Baby Girl are sleeping with us now.  Everyone gets along beautifully!  Baby Girl has received many toys and treats from our neighbors and she has a new red Christmas sweater in her wardrobe!

My husband comments that she is the perfect example of her breed. "

  "BabyGirl" was adopted!

"Miss C, We are a happy, happy, family! Baby Girl panted heavily for the first hour of our trip, but I held her in my lap and comforted her until she fell asleep with her head on my shoulder. The cats LOVE her! The two largest cats and Baby Girl have been sleeping in our bed together since we got home Friday. She has no interest in staying in her crate. She just wants to stay on the bed with us. One cat even walks across her body and she doesn't even raise her head! When the other cat sniffed her hip, she wagged her tail, bopping the cat across the face and the cat just stood there and took it! The other three cats have been observing her from a short distance and we expect they will be sleeping with her within the week. She is so sweet, good natured, and smart! Thank you so much! Our family is now complete! Martha Ann Morgan-Rini"   " Miss C, All five cats and Baby Girl are sleeping with us now. Everyone gets along beautifully! Baby Girl has received many toys and treats from our neighbors and she has a new red Christmas sweater in her wardrobe! My husband comments that she is the perfect example of her breed. "
-Martha from Myrtle Beach, NC

They enjoyed having her so much they came back to get BabyGirl a sister and welcomed home retiring mommy Carla the next year too!

Tootsie found her new home with a family who had a hunting line tri colored beagle that didnt fit into their home well , this time they
decided to get a beagle look in a different color and different desire, Tootsie fit the bill and they love her to peices !
Tootsie was a mini chocolate female who had been fixed

she found a perfect fit , her new family has a jack russell terrier , the two are getting along well they tell us , and that mini Tootsie is actually smaller than the jack russell !!  Thanks to all of those folks who have written to ask about adoption of tootsie... keep watching for other retiring and rescued beagles as we look for good homes for them as well ! ( we are now looking for a good home for her lighter chocolate sister Truffles who is also fixed and ready to retire... ask for her in your subject line for info . ( please always provide yours first so we can know we are working with a good home for one of our beagles and begin moving forward with an adoption !)

she was so sweet ... another mom didnt have experience or milk so she took her babies to raise and did a wonderful job with them for us before we retired her  !

Dear Christina,

Thank you so much for guiding us toward Tootsie. She truly is a wonderful fit for our family. She met Dottie who stood her ground and stared her down to which Tootsie lay down and belly crawled to her. This seemed to satisfy Dottie as they have gotten along famously ever since. (Dottie ignores her and she follows Dottie around.) She is interested and quiet and curious about everything but very sensitive to praise and our tone of voice. Our cat June has been cautious around her but Tootsie has been interested and friendly toward her until the cat jumped on the bed and then she howled at her on the bed. We just laughed as the cat was supremely unconcerned. She has had no accidents in the house and as far as we can tell wouldn't think of doing that as she does her business behind a big Magnolia tree. (actually, while behind the tree, she met a horse for the first time...she howled at him too which was very cute and came running back to me as if to say, "do you know what's back there?!")

The children hadn't been 30 minutes down the road when they starting saying ah, isn't she so little and cute and sweet....the further we got from the puppies, the smaller and cuter she got!:) Actually, I even had to laugh the next morning bc standing side by side waiting for breakfast, our Jack Russell is actually larger and broader than Tootsie!  Part of the reason Don and I wanted another dog is that our children were growing up with very few positive interactions with a dog of their own as our terrier is old and only loves Don. (the rest of us she ignores) Tootsie is a refreshing treat bc she loves and interacts with everyone but doesn't overwhelm anyone with a dominant personality. We are all enjoying her very much. She is very submissive and very cautious about anything new but once exposed is smart and remembers for next time. She watches everyone and everything very attentively which I love.

We enjoyed our drive up to your house and meeting some of the dogs and puppies but are very glad we brought home Tootsie. Has Pepper found a home yet? We really liked him as well. We will definately keep in touch for the future and will keep enjoying your website in the meantime.

Sincerely, Kelly and Don
                 Russell, Anna, Roy
                 (Dottie, June, Cash, and now...Tootsie)

We loved hearing back that all was going great... we thought our sweet little tootsie would be a wonderful fit for the family and their jack russell who did not like their previous Hunting bred beagle male with a dominant personality ... the kids like most all... asked to see puppies ... and of course we know often a family will come for an adult and go home with a baby.. thats ok of course, but when we retire a great doggie like tootsie and know she would fit the preferences so perfectly we love it when we can help make that match happen and everyone is happy in the end like this !!

"Bailey" , a small tricolor Female was adopted!

Bailey is a happy go lucky girl who is sweet and curious and would make a good buddy !

  $75.

 adopted now  :)

  " Abbey "     found a perfect homelife !

her favorite thing was coming in with the family,              $175

she would  run loose in the yard here on our acreage property , WITHOUT RUNNING into the woods .

  (

Here she is with

MINI SIZED KHAKI MINI  MOM  KIKI IN FRONT, SUNNY A MEDIUM SIZED STANDARD ORANGE AND WHITE GAL , AND  available adult ,

" Abbey " a  STANDARD SIZED TRI COLOR FEMALE .

she was housebroken and loved being indoors hanging out , she was also crate trained too !!

she was one of the beagles we raise here who was allowed to be loose in our driveway and front yard area to show that our dogs arent driven to hunt like most beagle lines in the South are,  Her dad and his bloodline started our beagle lines from the Seattle Washington area we began with.  She has nice longer legs so she will keep up with your walks if someone wants to go out for exercise ... I heard the other day single people like adult trained pets they can adopt since they can go walk and meet other folks outdoors right away ! It gives them an excuse for venturing outside and they become more fit and find a friend or two this way so its a win win situation the dog likes it too !

she was adopted recently !

Hi Christina,

Abbey and I were both tired by the time we got home so in most of the first pictures she is lying down, but I got some more active ones today.  It is hard to get three dogs to be still at the same time.

Out side of getting slightly lost two times leaving your house (I should have done a reverse instructions) we had a quiet trip home.  As soon as Abbey found the dog door, she was out and checking out the back yard.  She is getting along with her new dog family and they seem to approve of her.  Everyone is eating together with out problems and Abbey has learned which bowl is hers.  I think she is going to be a perfect fit with us.

I have eight pictures I thought you would like.  I’m send four with this e-mail and will send the rest in another.  They seem to do better that way.

I enjoyed getting to know you.  If you are ever passing through this way, let me know and stop in to see how Abbey is doing.  She is missing her original family.

Take care,

Lynda

" Smooches" $200. is sold now !~

She has been adopted by our next door neighbor who just loves our dogs !  He put an invisible fence wire on his yard... and flags and in one day she learned it now she doesnt need to even wear the collar she just stays in his yard with him... and sleeps on his lap on the couch when he's home.. thanks to those who asked about her , he says she's not goin anywhere..and the kids and I liked that since we still get to  see her often  over at his place !

Smooches is a standard Khaki female who had a litter a while back and then we had her fixed ... we like to have litters and then let the moms go to good pet homes to get plenty of love and one on one attention in a great family !

She was Professionally  Invisible fence trained , and crate trained already, and has been spayed  !
she is a real sweetheart one of Christi's favorites !  she is calm and well mannered. She loves attention and would rather be a lap dog givin kisses than anything...  She was one of our greeters out on the Invisible fence area so folks could see the various colors when they drive up our driveway so she is very social and loves people !  Her mom khaki below already found a wonderful life to retire into to at the Beach.. the lighter colored khaki beagles do wonderfully in hot weather since Khaki doesnt attract the sunshine like black does they dont mind the hotter climates in California and florida our Vet Doc Faulkner teases us when we bring in a khaki puppy for its health certification to fly out of state, where's this one going California or Florida Nevada maybe ?? !!
funny thing is he's usually going to get it right lol... they are popular in places that get high temps and where people love the unique !the fact that they also have the least steriotypical beagle tendancies like tracking animals and loud baying barks also makes them more popular for city life:)

she is happy now staying with our neighbor and getting spoiled rotten she gets her own pork chops cooked for her he says he makes his own dinner and hers too ... she has gained a bit of weight being so spoiled there... his other dogs are English Bulldogs... we tease him and say she is starting to look as fat as one now too !!!

"Khaki" has been adopted.

(1/8/09)

adult khaki colored chubby sized mini female $ 275.

she was adopted !

Khaki poses for a cute pic in the office!

Everyone else is asleep, Jake and Christi  enter the room to find khaki as comfy as can be on the silver chair!

Khaki enters the office, and goes in the crate on her own. she actually loved going into her crate and taking naps...

her new owner said her beagle /mix dog didnt like going into his crate when she tried to teach him..so she was anxious to see if he learned to like it once he sees Khaki enjoys hers !

Khaki quietly snuggled up in her crate while Grace and Sunny lounge in the office

Sunny walks out while content Khaki looks on.
She loves being in the crate.

Another good trait is she doesn't jump up, which would be great for someone with kids.

She is protective but doesn't bark without a reason to. (like she lets you know if a stranger comes up in the yard)

Khaki and Grace look at mommy for a picture

she was one of our first khaki colored beagles in the line so we named her " Khaki" as we hadnt seen alot of that coloring yet in those days, during the time we were working on developing that unique coloring..

all her littermates were twice her size and tri colored pups so she was a pretty special little gal back then !

We had not bred her to have any  puppies from her in a long time she was a loving pet and we felt  like she might enjoy a good pet family homelife being the center of attention for someone who wants a happy face to greet them every day !   She loved hanging out on the couch with you or being in a fenced yard while you are at work is fine with her .  Someone with a doggie door would be first on my list for a home for an adult dog any time , but she wouldnt mind walks on a leash and being crated some if she gets plenty of time with you too. She is fne indoors, or out in a  fenced yard and would also make a good early warning system for anyone wanting a good bark or two to notify them of strangers approaching the house  ! we knew she was a great pet beagle and would be a wonderful companion for someone this winter to keep the bed warm under the covers snuggling up  !! LOL !!

she snuggles with our keeper by Lillie we named "Athena" a gorgeous orange and white gal who will be replacing Dot in our breeding program. Her fur is super super less shed and her personality is sooooo sweet and loveable just what we were hoping for to upgrade our line of rare colored beagles for perfect  housepets  !!!! in the picture to the right here.. (  tri colored Junebug was recently adopted seen on far left.. Silvia next on left , Minkie sitting to her right is available, and Athena the orange youngster will begin being bred some of these days to carry on for her mom " Lillie"  whom we may consider retiring some day... Khaki far right has found a good home)

Khaki when she was a little puppy at our last house .

"Khaki" found a wonderful homelife with Caroline from Wilmington NC.  , she also has a fixed male beagle/mix at home who she said would love to have a buddy to hang out with when she is busy .

we recently got an update on how its going at her new forever home.....

Fantastic !!!
"Hello Miss Christina, kids, and wonderful beagles!!
Just wanted to let you know that Khaki is doing very well, and is regaining her girlish figure!  She helps keep me on a regular program of walking and we are both losing excess weight.  She is also keeping Bruce in line!
I am seriously considering adding another pup to our family, and saw that Pumpkin has a litter.  I would love to add a female to the brood, and personality is more important than color, so a tri or orange standard would make a good addition.  Are there any pups still available?
Hope all is well in your part of the world....
let me hear from you soon!
Thanks!
Caroline "

we have more adults available if anyone else wants a pal.... !!!

"Laney" was adopted !!
sweetie pee she is such a love bug !
she was a great mom but had only a few pups over her time here with us so we decided to let her be adopted by a wonderful family who just wanted to spoil her and have her to enjoy !

here she jumped in to see Eclipse's current litter of puppers just to say hi !!    and says hey there to current boarding pup 14 week old " Christian" by Shelly , who is now called Blue by his new family who are on a cruise !!
    Grace and her sister Laney
Laney $295.  she is by the same mom as our favorite Grace    !!    khaki grace's lil sis in a later litter...

Little Laney by Lillie is claimed now ... she has few puppies in her litters and
has to deliver by c-section so we have decided to let her find a great pet home where she can get all the attention she craves... she is crate trained

invisible fence trained,    ( Laney to left and avail. to adopt Smooches to right )
and loves people and being on your lap ! she is a silver sweetie and we love her to peices, and know her new super patient family will too ! they had asked about some of the other retiring dogs in the past and someone else was able to take them sooner .. it was still cold and not a good time to get a new dog in their area so they stuck in there and stayed interested in a Sunshine Acres beagle so we wanted them to have our sweetie Laney bug to join their family once they return from a planned vacation in June she will be shipped home to them !

when we went about checking out the competitor for Inv. fencing ( Pet safe brand ) avail at Lowes we laid the wire on top of the ground in a new area of the yard.. then placed some flags to show where it was.. and walked Laney around the new area... in a day or two she had it well in hand and was doing fine learning where she could now go on the new system... it wasnt as loud a beep but she did fine and got the hang of it easily enough .   She just wants to be as close to us and the house as possible anyway ... being a true sunshine beagle she didnt try to escape it !

as a pup she was a favorite !
here she is meeting a rescued beagle we took in to find a home for ..she flew home to join her new family recently and things are going great there...  thanks to all the many folks who were interested in this sister of our Grace ... !

Laney was shipped home to a new family who were very happy to get her, they have since emailed us to let us know how well she is adjusting to their family there !! Just what we love to hear !

"Dot" found a country home where she can come inside when she wants via a doggie door , and stick around in the yard on some land thats off the beaten path.  Our beagles dont have to run off to track and find animals they can be great homebodies just like dot,  just looking for a lap !

  " Dot "

We knew she liked to be free in the yard on a large acreage property like we have here so  we  only considered those who had land where she could be either free to run around a bit ...  In our experience ,with her being surrounded by woods as we are.. she never left our property , she and several other of our beagles who  are often out off leash on our property to show our beagles arent typical hounds.. but rather homebodies who stick around ..

She was good and  didnt run off to the woods

but she  has been known to watch SuperBowl with our single  neighbor next door who cooks the doggies who get to come over and visit him chicken ,

she got to share his superbowl fixins , and the couch this time around,  he said she was a great date !! LOL.

she loves attention and is an active young adult who is a nice lap size , with a great lower shed coat .

She had had 3 litters for us,  and  we knew she would love the one on one attention that someone looking for a pet like her can give.  She isnt the type of beagle to try to get outdoors to run off and track animals... as much as the one that wants back in ...

here she is happy as a clam that she has gotten in past a mother dog who didnt appreciate it...to our office where she claims this bed!

in a familyof her own... on land in the country she would be great.. but in our situation this has been a challenge for her to want to be inside  with us so much..!! LOL.

enough so that she will come right in our house thru a doggie door and past a newborn litter and its protective mommie with out realizing what she has done.... till she is inside that mom's birthing space...

we thought she would just love being allowed a free roam yard,  and doggie door to come inside when her owner was home to let her hang out with them.  She found just the right home where she could be free to come inside via a doggie door and go out to play when she wanted to ... no need for a leash or fence she was a homebody beagle happy and content to hang around !

   $295.      (sold now)

"Daisy" found a great home !!

she hangs out on our deck, and out loose in the front yard at times...or is invisible fence trained so she could easily be taught a new boundary in someones yard to stay in..

she loves toys more than any of our doggies !! very playful and sweet she would be a great family pet . (  big standard size female)

her main goal is to be inside the home with the gang ... she can be let loose in our big yard without wandering off to the wooded acreage all around us .

$175.

Daisy has gone home with the Grant family! They were looking for a new friend for the fam and for "Charlie" their tricolor Sunshine Acres Beagle son of "Bonnie"!

( Punkin has found a great family life now )

she loved laying out in the moveable pen with her babies as they weaned off her milk

Punkin was already Invisible fence trained for someone with that system

. $175.

she was also one of our most playful moms but not quite as busy finding toys and treats as Daisy doggie above. !!

she is a nice dog who has had some great litters for us ... we like to see our moms retire into wonderful pet homes that appropriately fit them ... each is different,  and so are the homes being offered for an adult dog,   so we consider all the details and try to match them to the best fit for that beagle.

she also loved rawhides like daisy does....

they could  entertain themselves on end with a rawhide or chew toy...

much more than say Grace... who never chews them... ? ( true of some khaki's ) Grace does adore Greenies though... and freeze dried chicken and meat snacks that are good for you...LOL .. well all she cares about is the "Chicken"  ... in them...

dogs can be as different as people are , some are playful and higher energy level , others are able to run out and go hurry up and come right back inside .. the more we know about the home you have for a beagle the better we can work on finding a great companion to enjoy who can fit in well.

                   sold

woo hoo-  you guys look what one of the families adopting my puppies sent me in their care package !!! check this bad boy out !! YUM !!!!!

she went to a family who wanted an adult dog but didnt want to go to the pound where you just dont know what your getting.. she fit right in and they took her home to enjoy !

"Trooper " found a great home !  We found the perfect family for her , where she will be allowed to enjoy the country life she enjoys and they even  also wanted her last pup to go along with her!

She was pretty special having been already professionaly Invisible Fence Trained .  Anyone could  simply lay down the wires to a Petsafe system from Lowes themselves,  or have Invisible fencing installed,  and keep her home by showing her the boundaries you have layed out for her...

we have tried this with other previously trained dogs,  and it is very simple to show them where you want them to stop in your yard, you dont really need to trench the wire into the dirt we found... just laying it on top is sufficient, along with the visual flags to stop them at the boundaries you have set...once they understand the concept of the beep,  and retreat back to the center of the area or then correction is next if you keep going..

as she has already  been Professionally trained.

this gal is a  great companion pet.. she is also ok off leash on a large acreage property and would stick close by,  to come in when allowed

adotped now...  such a nice adult dog she got a terrific new family who adores her !

the best part of all , Trooper will become a Therapy dog going to visit older people and to schools and so on with her new owner who has always wanted the perfect companion to go with her to Volunteer ! She was sooo calm and well mannered and obediant she couldnt have asked for a better dog for this job  !!  she always was one of our Greeters at this house and our last... out in the yard saying hi, meeting and greeting folks.. and standing up to wave goodbye to folks as they got into their cars to go home. She will be so gentle and good we are sure she will represent us well out there  !!

we could see how wonderfully she was going to be treated right away when they came... her new mom brought a bag of treats to share with her and Grace, and held her close to say I promise to care for your remaining years and make them very wonderful with our family.. We couldnt ask for better folks to take her home and love her we could tell !

Sally found a wonderful home now with a family who lost their beagle at a young age.  They loved how cuddly she is and sweet natured.. her new mom Yolanda said 'she is just like you said on the site !!' They said replacing their similar aged beagle with another would be easier for now , but they left us a deposit to get her a puppy to love on in the future... she absolutely adores pups and would just dearly love having a little sis someday !

Yolanda recently came back to get our Morgan puppy by Electra... she had a awesome less shedding fur that we wanted to incorporate back into the bloodline for tri colored pups so Yolanda and miss c reached an agreement that she will come home to breed the appropriate male when its time , and when her litter is due will come back again to deliver and raise them here so we can keep this special line going... neato !! And meanwhile she and Sally Wally can enjoy each other and have a wonderful life on the coast of NC.

" Sally "

Smaller standard size Tri color female

$275.

   "Sally"

She is a sweet girl and loves being inside by the fireplace or on the bed with the kids. Still playful and fun outdoors in warmer weather, crate trained to sleep inside or ok with a dog house with hay inside it in a fenced in yard.

she is good in a crate, or in your bed, or a dog house in the yard with hay in it.

she is easy to please and just wants to make a new owner her best friend in the world.

Sally saying one last goodbye to her pups about to leave for Va.     ahh.... time to relax ! We decided to retire her last year due to needing more than one c-section Sally wont be having more litters.. she was a great mom but would be a better family member than breeding dog, so we wanted to see her go to someone who could give her the one on one attention she loves . She gets excited to see you and really wags her tail and almost smiles whenever you get home !

(we kept this line of beagles going by keeping "Lizzy" a daughter of Sally's who is now starting to have litters of her own at 2 yrs old.)

Yolanda meets Sally!

"Want to update you on Sally she is doing GREAT!!! Very loving to ALLL!!! My husband is thrilled she really likes him,he was sooo happy like a little boy!!!

She travled very well and wanted me to touch her  on the head while she slept!!!!!  Made 2 h2o stops and bathroom. She showed off with her dance. She also takes her toy and runs with it and sorta whines and looks at me, not quite sure what shes saying. Sally slept with us  last night and already lets us know when its bathroom time!!!

I have bought a new camera so I will send pics in 1-2 days!!! Thank you for this precious lady.  Our family is now complete with her in our home.

Thank you!!!

Yolanda "

Yolanda &  "Sally" came back to us to welcome home their new puppy "Morgan"!

Yolanda & her hubby have been so happy with Sally! Yolanda had placed a $100 deposit to hold her place for the future timeframe of getting a puppy, whenever it may be that Sally needs a friend!

Sally in Yolanda's car, ready to go to her forever home!

Tricolor Female with the wider blaze

She's joining the 'Rouse' House in Rose Hill NC! now she is called :"Ruth"

After Yolanda had adopted sunshine Sally into her life for a while, and developed a very strong bond with her, Yolanda emailed us again as December '08 rolled around,
saying that Sally is doing wonderful, and is ready for a little friend to join the family and help sally burn off a few extra pounds she's put on by having a playmate to run after! She told us Morgan & as well as all the puppies were precious, and asked if she could now claim her new puppy!

Morgan & brother Drake

We emailed back and forth with Yolanda about letting Morgan join her home- Miss C had been having a hard time wanting to let this girl go till it was just the perfect match!

Breeder's POL
Morgan hangs out with miss C watching TV in the living room after a busy Saturday afternoon, while Christi sits nearby reading out some of the many, many emails we are working to respond to that day.. on the computer , &  snapping a few pics !

Morgan's coat is just wonderful soft short and less shedding, great for indoors!...

...Then Morgan comes along for cooking in the kitchen, while the aroma of fresh garlic & olive oil fills the air!

Morgan sits with Miss C on the internet

"I have this feeling already due to Sally was intent on her web page also looking at you and her cooking!!!!! I let her watch while I'm on the website...she already wants Morgan here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
-Yolanda

We are happy to let Morgan go home to the Rouses, as we know Yolanda will take great care of her & continue to share updates about the two sweeties!

Her fur is exceptional for a tri colored beagle, typically our rare colored pups are the least shedding coats we have developed.. but occassionally we can produce some tricolors with awesome shorter super shiney jet black fur that is wonderful like hers!

Yolanda & Sally get to Meet their Morgan and see Miss C again!

sally: "oh, cheese!"

Miss Christina and Sally say hi

Yolanda holds her new puppy

Christina & Yolanda look over the directions back home...

Meanwhile Sally goes to visit Cody  in the living room!

Cody just in from school does homework on the computer, and is surprised by a visit from Sally Wally!

Sally in the kitchen (sally says.."hey something looks a little different... you guys had to replace your stainless fridge with a new refridgerator? looking sweet.. black & shiny like me & Morgan!")

Sally sees our boarding beagle "Lucy" looking in the Kitchen door.

Grace says "okay sally, time for another photo op in the Office with mommy, let me be in it this time!"

Sally hops in with Sunny's puppies, Lucy Little & Pepe Broome.

Sally: "you called? Okay I'm coming!"

First we see a small Standard size sunshine acres beagle
leaping up onto the couch ,
then a Mini size sunshine acres beagle,
flying through the air to get on top of the couch.
Sally jumps up to join her mommy and new puppy... .. and Grace joins them

Miss C remembers Sally's dance- seemed like she could walk around & stay up like that endlessly. All she had to do was snap her fingers and up Sally went, to show us she hadn't forgotten this little special trick we taught her.

Morgan says
 Here I am momma Rouse!
(and Sally's still doin her thang!)

Miss C, Yolanda, Sally & Morgan

Headed out to load up in the car!

vacation boarder "Lucy"s wire crate to the right, when sunshine beagles comes back to board with us, they bring their own familiar crate, toys &bed to sleep in that night at their home away from home! Everyone finds this make it a lot easier on their furry family member!

Miss Christina walks Sally out the front before Yolanda, sally & morgan are off for their trip back home!

After getting Morgan settled into her plastic crate in the back seat, Christina hands Sally's leash off to Yolanda

Sally sees Christi, and poses for a few pictures!

    $195.   SOLD NOW

"Velvet" the khaki adult female was happily adopted by a Lady who lived alone across the street from her daughter's family who had adopted two of our puppies from us.  She came with them to pick out their pups and  they put down a deposit on their girls  till they were ready to   come home and the gang  took Velvet home to get her set up at Grandma's house for everyone to enjoy  till then !  They picked the older pup up and waited for the younger one to be weaned and independant of mom and when they came for her the older ones shots were due so we did them for them to save them a vet visit expense.  We love to see our pups again anyway so we are happy to do follow up shots and wormings for our babies @ten dollars it saves considerably over office charges to have the puppy booster done .

Her coat wa s very soft and less shedding and she was a non hyper dog who would love to have her own fenced yard to explore so they put in an Invisible fencing system for her to go out , and she gets to  come in to sit on her new owners lap and get plenty of one on one  attention and cuddling !

Just what we were hoping for !  She put her paw on Grandma as if to ask if it was ok to come to her lap when they came to see Velvet... from that moment on they had a connection and she became her constant companion just what the family was hoping to find for Grandma too !

A perfect match , as we always believe.. there is the perfect person for every dog or puppy ... its our job to try to find the best one for each so it lasts and  makes people happy !!

" What's Up" ! Thats really his name !  This Little Tri colored male goes by whats up :)

he is a nice very little fella but didnt pass our breeding requirements to become a stud. He was noisier than our other beagles, and this is a trait that we would like to   avoid in our line of  breeding beagles, regardless of his small size. While some breeders may compromise on particular qualities to acheive a smaller "pocket beagle", we feel that we should only consider the best of all qualities when breeding for the perfect housepets & family members.

He has found a home with someone who has a couple of other beagles, and told us they just love the sounds of a merry little hound, and he was happy to join the pack.

What's up was a social fellow who got along with other dogs just fine! here he is with Laney laying on the deck behind him,

and our last adult adoption "Sally" who found a great home  to the left side of the picture.

He is hanging out on our deck with the chicks this day ! /we have a huge acreage property that allows us to let the dogs run around and enjoy the woods surrounding us verses the way many breeders cage their beagles, we think this makes for much happier pets !

( in front, our keeper "Kiki", the khaki pup we kept from Grace's son Dakota, and mini "Missy".) Kiki is going to be having a litter of her own now we have bred her and hope for some cuties like her this fall.

next to her  full grown Silver Pocket Beagle "Sapphire" a mini from Precious a few years ago ( we have yet to breed her she is tooo tiny !!)

now retired "Sally" the tri colored girl next to her and on Jake's lap "What's up" says hi to the ladies ! or should we say " How you doin" !!

 he was $275. (sold now)

sold now.

Our retired adult "Luke" had a calandar face and loving disposition.

Luke

Luke has retired ... He was a wonderful stud dog who had gorgeous puppies , we are now more often breeding using shorter studs to reduce size of the puppies we are developing in our line so and finding him a good pet home was wonderful... he was one of our most obediant beagles , comes right to me and minds well.  He  is a real looker and reminded us of Uno's personality the winner of the Westminster dog show this year..

A minister has adopted him ! Off they go in the Hummer ...

Luke is the dog standing on the photo to the right, Sally is sitting in front . she is  another recently retired adult.

Cloie has  found a great home now ! Thanks to everyone who showed an interest in adopting her and keep watching for new faces to occassionally appear on this page.

"Cloie" was a fixed silver mini female   $495. we felt she would be happier in a pet home and decided against breeding her.

here she is as a silver mini female a few years ago !

   $495. adult mini female housepet lap-doggie  .

she is a very short legged gun metal steel color

  Mini  beagle.

" Austin "

 adult mini khaki male

$275.

He has found a home!

He was a very very sweet little dog, he loved people and affection. Since his litter, ( he was among the first khaki beagles we developed) ..we have progressed with working on the coats, and we didn't use him as a stud anymore. His coat is still nice, as it is a khaki, but we've improved since and the coats are softer and shorter , and less shedding.  We  decided that it was his time  to find a family to enjoy !

(picture on left was current, taken march '08. He is a mini adult)

ps. Austin was "too much the gentleman" , to breed well !! LOL. he only sired a couple litters over the years we had him.. he just wanted to climb in momies lap not chase the ladies..!

Austin as a lil khaki puppy!  Bunny & Austin as puppies!

We think Austin has a new home now that will work out well for him..His new family was so happy to have him for their young son to play with... they had tried adopting a rescue beagle/mix who was getting older now and less interested in playing.. they also said they loved that Austin would stay home and unlike their hound dog who was from a hunting background...

Cassie runs off and they have to go find him off on a wild goose chase blocks over from their home... hunting for little things to go after , even in the city neighborhoods dogs with this instinct bred into them for many generations cant help themselves this is what they were designed to do and the pursuit is half the fun...

our babies want only to please their family and spend time with them... we hope the two dogs will be good friends and Austin can fit well  into their lifestyle .

His new family wrote us to say that they are definitely bonded with Austin. "He has been a wonderful addition to our family and he is getting along great with our son and our other beagle, KC. He loves attention and is great to cuddle with. We could not ask for a better friend."

retired years ago...

" Dusty"  We retired 3 yr old dusty to a nice San Francisco pet home to be a spoiled house pet! He was sold for $195 to a family with young twins who wanted an older adult pet.. From time to time we retire adult dogs to pet homes. He didnt work into our breeding program although he was a nice smaller size.. and good coat, he had only one jewel and this would have been possibly passed on to his offspring had we chosen to breed him.. there are many aspects involved in choosing good breeding dogs, and as responsible beaglers we believe its our duty to eliminate any dogs from our bloodline that could pass along any genetic defects even those that might not affect a pups health like this ...

(since most all our pups are fixed ultimately and only pets)

still  we want only the best dogs in our line up of  breeding beagles ! we have not seen this again in any of our dogs or pups so we did the "right" thing finding him a good home although the kids loved him it all worked out very well in the end..

Since his arrival the new owner has written several times to say "Dusty is just Flawless with her two 18 mo old twins , and even has learned to push open the door to their nursery in the evenings to check on the girls while they sleep... reminded me of lady and the tramp story...!! LOL !

We got a letter not long ago saying they take Dusty to the park to run and play with other dogs there,

off leash, he has a great time and when Mom calls him to come on and head home..

He runs right back to her. That's a Sunshine beagle for ya !

Courier delivers Dusty to airline  to go to  California by airline.

  Sit...

 Lie down...

  Beg..

 Stay...    Good Dog!!

After having her 5th litter in 6 years with us Blazey was  retired into a loving home in China Grove NC.
We miss ya girl , but we're happy you get all the attention of your new family!!
The little boy she went to as a Christmas gift had always wanted a Beagle!

Snowflake  the Mini Khaki female

"Snowflake" is the only khaki we have seen thus far who even knew how to use her nose in the least. Most are not interested in it, being so people oriented, rather than interested in tracking anything. Also some lack the nasal capacity to use their noses !!  Another interesting thing we have noticed several times in the Khaki dogs ... no ability to bark !! Snowflake and her daughter named Lucy would make the motion but no noise would come out, it was so cute  ! Platinum had a khaki pup "Bunny" ,  who doesn't make much sound when she barks also so we kept a khaki son by her to keep this trait hopefully going in our unique pet lines. Velvet also had a barkless daughter Cinnamon who made the movement of barking occassionally but nothin came out.. cool !

The big difference in Snowflake, and typical tri colored hunting variety beagles,
is they wont stay in your fenced yard, she would love nothing better!

she isn't like a hunting hound in that she is quite content staying home inside a fenced yard just looking for things to sniff.  She was also a very short legged variety of beagle and we still see her influence genetically in many of her sweet khaki son DJ.'s offspring ,he sires tiny puppies quite often who take after her petite size! The rare colored pups he creates also have shorter and much less shedding coats and many of our customer's comment on the difference in the amount of fur their beagles from other bloodlines shed off around their house and on the furniture. vs their new puppy from us.
Even the tri colored pups who he sires with tri colored mom's often have the shorter coat and shed less than most tri colored beagles do.

she was a nice smaller sized beagle which is easy to hold.
she is taken now by a young lady, for her retired dad who has a nice home and fenced in yard for her !!

off she goes to a new home in Lincolnton NC.

Honey has been adopted by a couple for his parents.

Honey is Snowflake's sister. She loves attention and is always up to laying around watching a movie with a buddy. She's extremely responsive and  comes immediately when called, even off leash! She has no interest in tracking  animals, just being a great family pet. She can sleep in a crate or in the bed if you like.  We wanted her to  get outside some during the day but she would love to be inside most of the time. She found a home with an older couple and when we heard back from their son he said she's happy, they are happy, and in fact I just called and she was in the bed with them this morning lapping up the attention !

(3 musketeers, Honey is on top )

our big lovable Mr. Puppy

He is out of our original bloodline of Angel the Hero dog..

she saved me from a Rottweiller attack,  and  saved a  lady who was about to be bitten by a copperhead snake by stepping forward to take the snakes bite for the woman.  she took off and found the children who had gone to the top of a friends small hillside and gone off along the ridge rather than right back down as they had promised to do... when they were just tikes..

all I had to say was angel go get the kids and she took off
straight up their trail and came back with both holding on her tail like it was a leash, to follow her back to me.

Mr. Puppy's Dad was also heroic when he ran to pull the attacking Rottie off Angel to save her from it.
She had jumped in to save me from its attack !

We find that amazing smaller dogs will risk their lives for their beloved owner, or mate  like that.

"What? Do I smell breakfast?" "I think I do!" "I think it's coming from in here.."
"I better check it out" "I was right!" "Ah... that was good."

Mr. Puppy finds a great home !

Recently we took Mister to live on a farm in the country where he can play in his huge hay barn  or run free outside

He rides inside the nice air conditioned glass enclosed Tractor when my boyfriend bales hay in the fields , sitting up high on his lap so he can see all around.  When he is off leash all Jamie has to do is call once, and say come-on Mister and he is right there just like his mom Angel.

He minds very well we've been told .

We are happy to say that mister puppy has a wonderful life on a farm now. He has been joined by Gina a small female who never had any puppies, and his daughter Maggie Pie who also never was blessed.. the three of them are very spoiled and get to run free on the large acreage but each day they show up to hang around if there is any hay baleling or riding in the truck to check on the cattle in the fields..

Allie found a home!

One of our old customers had asked for our help in placing his beagle in a home, he was in a bit of a hurry . Allie was great with kids and people, and loved to be  outside in the sun. She had already had her vet work done and had been fixed. She was about two years old. It sounded like she'd love to have her own fenced in yard so she could lay out and be in the sunshine when her owner isn't home. We helped place her in a good home with just that !

(A new family to play with and a nice yard to stay in..)

Silky finds a great life in South Carolina.

Silky was a Khaki female who we had not bred in several years.
She is the sister to Honey and Snowflake both of whom have already been retired into pet homes..

We just found her a one on one, pet home where she can be pampered and loved...

Silky  liked sleeping inside in a crate or on the bed . She minded well and comes when called even off leash. she is a gentle girl and we thought someone retired would just love her as a home companion.

sweet "Silky" finds a great home in Florence SC.  A young lady emailed us and told us she wanted her for her grandparents who had a large fenced yard, that enclosed their home, and her Mother's, next door...
so she would get lots of lovin!!

she came and got silky, then called me the next day to say it was like she had lived there all her life ,
 she was right at home!!

First thing she did was come in and join grandma on the loveseat,
and lay her head on her lap.

whenever she goes anywhere silky is right by her side now...
and they are very happy to have her companionship !

   Another happy ending....

and a new beginning for Silky, and her new family!

away they go.... to South Carolina...
We are happy for you girl !! they wrote to say she was like a little slice of heaven..
and are very pleased to have her !!

this is Silky about 9 weeks old  cutesilky.jpg (201133 bytes)  and  at 2 years.

Peanut, adult female, tri- colored beagle, has been adopted.

Peanut was a tiny mini size beagle who had to have a c-section to deliver.

she was purchased  in our effort to produce smaller size mini beagles,  she would climb over fences being so light and nimble, and having more field bloodlines in her background than we like to use to produce pets from.  Field dogs tend to have a climbing ability that our dogs don't have.  I have talked to many other breeders who agree with this. It makes keeping them in a fenced in yard difficult and we don't keep dogs who pass this on.

So when we see this in the mothers we purchase we adopt them out, rather than produce
puppies who could have the same tendencies. We do our very best to develop our bloodline of beagle puppies to be homebodies, not dogs with the ability to leave a fenced yard. We dont keep dogs that wont make good pet pups.

her new owners took both Bailey and Peanut and gave a donation which helps support the site.

they had other beagles and loved the breed , we told them she was an escape artist  they said they were used to that and that  they planned to take her out only on leash and it has worked out for them just fine.

Bailey found a new home

we had one tri colored yr and a half old smaller sized female beagle to place. her name was BAILEY and her owner's weren't able to take her with them when they moved into an apt. in Texas recently. We took her back since they were also in a hurry to move, and tried breeding her with a mini sized male. Unfortunately she lost her litter and had to be fixed. She recovered well , and we decided to  find her a good home. Her medical expenses were well over a grand  so we  asked $150. for her to help with a fraction of the cost involved .

We did find her a home with Peanut, her new owners just love beagles and took both girls !

 Spice
was adopted !

Her new family even donated $100. to help with the  expenses incurred when she was spayed.

Spice is an older Tri colored female beagle we purchased for breeding two years ago.  She was a good mom and  raised  two litters for  us, both required a C-section  though so we had her fixed in order to place her in a pet home with someone.

Some dogs just are not cut out to have and raise puppies.

We had hoped she would help us in our pursuit to carefully breed for pet pups, and by purchasing other bloodlines to cross with our less shedding coat Sires we can often produce very adorable pet puppies with better shorter coats than other bloodlines have.

This is just a pursuit we have taken up after many customer's came to us and told us they were not allergic to our shorter fur on the rare colored beagle line we produce... occasionally we use a rare color parent with a tri and get lucky enough to have shorter fur on some tri colored offspring. The shorter the coat it seems the less they shed !

spice "air" buries a toy... ever see a dog bury something in the house with no dirt to cover it..  just air or other toys!! she loved doing this and carrying around toys to play with, or chew on .

We believe in  purchasing male and   female  beagles from   other good  bloodlines, in order to help us avoid
the In-Bred puppies some  breeders produce by using closely related parents all from their line.

we feel this will help keep our pups Happy and Healthy !!

Unfortunately for spice she wasn't cut out to be a mom and was fixed.

( She was the mom to Twins in her first litter both born in the same sack   according to our vet who delivered the litter !!
Both girls went to a boy who named them Kloie and Bailey.. they can be seen on our get two section of the web site !  )

here are pictures her new family emailed us of their happy girls...

Rescue: Buddy found a home

Recently we found an adult male beagle  on the roadside ...

We knew nothing about him other than we couldn't leave him there to fend for himself, loving beagles like we do ..

we couldn't  keep him , not knowing whether he was a registered purebred beagle like ours are, so we offered  him to a good home as a rescue dog. He was also much taller than our beagles tend to be, and noisier too, so we had to find this fellow a different home.

Our dogs will let us know when someone comes into our yard but don't howl and go on and on and so even though we have close neighbors they aren't a problem barking like folks hear about other lines of beagles developed for hunting hounds can  tend to be..

he was  a long legged tri colored saddleback beagle.  these are  called Black and tan beagles so he may have been put out by a hunter, we've heard some don't want to feed them over the winter months when the hunting season is over and often the get rid of dogs this way hoping someone will pick them up.

We made no claims in any way as to personality or behavior of rescued dogs since we did not raise them...

we couldn't be sure of his temperament but he appeared to be friendly enough,  and came over to me when I offered him a ride home with us.. I feel he was let out in the country to find a new home due to the fact he didn't have on a collar.  I gave him shots and wormed him,   took him to be checked out at the vet for Brucellosis, and he appeared healthy ..

Buddy found a good home with a young lady who had already adopted one rescued male beagle mix from the Lake Willey area, she wanted to find him a pal to hang out with while she is at work and took him home with her.

Good luck buddy hope you have a good life now!!

Buddy and his new owner's other male beagle meet..

We couldn't keep him , he barked a lot more than our beagles do..

and we have close neighbors who never complain about our dogs and didn't want to chance bothering anyone . Also since he was much bigger than the size beagles we are breeding for and all our dogs are from AKC registered backgrounds  being a stray we had no way of knowing about his background or how pure he was, so we were just thrilled to find him such a good home and a pal to play with buddy !

Loving beagles all my life like I have since 4th grade, I just couldn't leave him on the side of the road to take care of  himself so we are happy it all turned out ok.  She promised to send us a donation to help us continue to rescue and care for dogs in the future !

He is gone now..

" Rowdy " has a new home now

Sweet humble Rowdy found a new home in a family who lives near someone with one of our puppies..

we purchased him for breeding due to his gorgeous saddleback markings.. a classic beagle look we hoped to bring into our line some unrelated genetics .

Over the  years we owned him, Rowdy has only produced a few litters... luckily for us we kept a son who is much more successful at breeding ! so we  decided to retire him into a good pet home where he can be loved for the calm good natured boy he is..

Trooper and Rowdy waiting at the door to come in ..

  he is  sold now

His new family told us their son cried he was so happy to have a dog when he met Rowdy, they said he gets visits daily from the neighborhood kids who just adore him !

Carly found a wonderful home now...

she was sold  for $100 to a couple who weren't able to have kids of their own to replace their beagle . She will be well loved and cared for  and has already made herself comfortable in their home they tell us!

"Seasons Greetings!

Just wanted to drop you a line to wish you and your family a
wonderful holiday season and a blessed New Year!
Carly is doing great!  She has adjusted to her new home just
fine!  Not sure what she likes the most, the recliner, couch, or
bed, as long as we are nearby!  I took her out to my school one
afternoon and everybody was nuts about her!  She was such a lush
puppy with all of the attention too!  We traveled to Raleigh for
Thanksgiving to visit family-they loved her, and she was an
awesome rider in the car again!  We keep her in the crate while we
are at work-David stops by during his lunch break between schools
and takes her out.  She has been really good in the house.
She's not much for chew toys/treats, but eats her food good.  We are
feeding her the IAMS mini chunks as you suggested.  At first she
was kind of timid but she is starting to come out :)  We are
greeted when we come home and she is definitely our shadow!!!!  She
really loves just to curl up and snuggle with us!  We are
teaching her to sit and to shake too!"

happy in her new digs !

         orange and white male Max

we got him from someone unable to keep him to help find him a good home where he could have his own yard to enjoy. Our beagles come with a Home for life... If you are suddenly unable to keep them we are here to  help... Like this big fella found out there is a perfect home for each and every doggie... just gotta make them available to be seen... and thank goodness for the world wide web !

he found a home too!

our mini grace on the left and Max were actually from the same standard sized mother, just in different litters and by different sized dad's... we knew she was a mini sized runt and kept her to be our lap doggie !

"Max"  very sweet boy !

He has found a home now with a family who works from home and has other much bigger dogs .

They offered to compensate us to keep him here a little while longer till they could  take him home as a surprise early xmas gift for their son. we appreciate folks who understand   offering rescues and retired dogs does cost us food and our time to find the best home... we cant really sell them

instead we take donations for the care of the rescues we get on occassion. In the past some folks have generously brought Greenies , or bisquits for the pups and dogs to share , or a bag of food to replace what their rescued beagle must have consumed while staying with us.. we think this is so so sweet that they think of the expenses we have to give a dog away in order for it to have the right situation ...We love the breed and want to help out whenever we can..!

any of our doggies have a home for life as they call it... if anything happens and their owners can not keep them we are more than happy to offer to find them a new home with our many contacts via the internet we can find um a great home !

  "Cashmere " has a new home !

crate trained   gives sugar, and loves cuddling

when folks move and can't bring their pet its hard on both.. sometimes its to be near an elderly parent to care for them like this fellow's owner had to do..

We don't want to see any dog have to go to a pound and take their chances ... so we often take in adult dogs who need help finding a new situation.. and owner. we don't ask a price, just hope for a donation for the time, care and food we invest to help someone who is giving up their pet.
______________
she also went home with the family that took Cash the khaki male we had to live on their 11 acre farm in the country and get plenty of love and attention from a stay at home mom and her family.

I liked her email asking about him especially since she offered to give him a "forever" home ..

that is what we hope for !

we only bred our females for a few years till we find them a good pet home so they have a wonderful one on one relationship with someone forever more.

(Miss Christina on right, holding Cash)

 Rescued puppy

has found a great home !!

We  asked  a donation  of $100. it is not for him, it is for the work we do for rescues ,

but we ask it to insure someone responsible gets the rescue dogs and pups.

Free dogs often are not well cared for dogs unfortunately they tell us at the rescue orgs .

this fee is to support the work we do to rescue beagles it costs for food and so on..

this helps us afford to help out . we really appreciate when someone gives more of course !! or buys the dog or pup some Iams, Eukanuba, or Purina products and saves and brings us the UPC labels , or weight symbols off Purina so we can trade them in for dog food to feed the rescue dogs we have  from time to time .

every once in awhile we get a donation from someone helping us care for the rescues while we feed and care for them till they find a home

as one lady said there must be a special place in heaven for people who love the unloved .

For many people who plan to have an indoor companion for many years, it is worth finding that right fit....

So coming out and choosing a puppy with the color, or coat they want, or maybe a smaller lap size puppy is a better choice, it also gives them a chance to bond with the pet while still young and form a life long companionship with one of our very special indoor housepet  puppies..

You do get what you pay for.... in many cases there are less expensive puppies in the paper.... those not family raised, with out our wonderful fur, or from Hunting stock parents, those less expensive ones that come with the instinct to get out and hunt in your neighborhood.... or those  with no vet work, or verifiable shots  or wormings given... costing your family more in the long run .

for example :  we do the shots in your presence whenever possible , and provide your vet with shot records that have the label off the shot vial attached for further proof of what exacly was given.

We also offer to do follow-up shot visits for $10 this includes worming the pup for you, or cutting its nails if needed, when you bring it back to us in two weeks. We like to offer this to our customer's to be sure everyone is doing their booster shot series. We enjoy a chance to see some of our pups as they grow, and are happy to be able to help out on the expense of keeping them
 Happy and Healthy..

One customer recently told us we were saving her a $70. dollar vet visit ! she said she had called the vets in her area of town and was amazed we offered to do this so affordably...  when you add up the 4 shots required to fully immunize a puppy from the age of adoption each due 2 weeks apart.... our offer is appealing !!  (  Thirty dollars- vs- $ 280.  )( we do the first one for you FREE.)

with older pups there may have already been some of the  shot series, done for you, so they save you on time, and vet expenses even more!

are you really saving money with the Howling Hunting stock you find in the paper?

We also offer boarding for our pups at $15 per day -vs- as much as $ 35 or more in most local kennels we have heard about...
and hunters don't offer to pamper your pet in their home the way we do... much less board the puppies they sell... or give shots in the first place , most just say shots in their ad but can't prove they did any...

so you repeat the vet visit at more cost..

Let us show you how easy it can be to adopt a happy healthy puppy that we have devoted all of our love to raising for you !!

Lots of our families on the waiting list for puppies are making puppy scrap books of the pics as they watch them grow up online with us .  A few co-worker's are even throwing puppy shower's for the expectant friends from work ! We love hearing how this all sounds like a great start for our baby beagles family !! the patience that folks have helps build a bond and make for a life long connection with their family pet for couples and  families with kids... its a great life leason to show the patience these folks are teaching their kids by not just running out and buying the first pup they see advertised this summer !

It will all be worth the wait though for them to get the perfect companion pet meant to be an indoor family member !
