young adult female "Cliffie" found her forever home with a returning adult dog adoptee Katharine from Charlotte.
(who wrote asking to adopt another adult retiring mom.)
Miss Christi, I’m hoping to adopt an adult female beagle. Twelve years ago I adopted DeeDee from you (then 2 1/2). She has been a great dog. A sweet girl. I renamed her Lady. We went on many walks.
I live in south Charlotte. I have a fenced yard and dog doors to the house and screened in porch. I’m a widow but my son and wife and 2 young sons and 2 dogs live 15 minutes away, so some activity. My husband was a veterinarian, so I believe in quality dog care. Please let me know if you have a candidate for adoption. Thanks, Katharine |
we started taking her on a leash and collar for walks on our long private driveway out in the countryside
on acreage we don't normally walk all the dogs , they run around with others on our land,
and get plenty of exercise:)

we like to get the adults used to having a collar on like a city dog ha ha.

Cody was very close to Cliffie and she will be missed, but her new owner promissed to give her the best care.
She is now widowed and alone and we knew Cliffie would be a perfect housepet to keep her company.

after she met and went home with Katharine, we emailed to see how she did on the ride home in the car.
previous to that only riding to the vet for a Rabies shot he came out to do in the back seat for us during covid so we didn't have to go inside the office ... lol.

She was a bit anxious and panted for a bit, but stayed on the pillow and settled fairly soon. She checked out the yard and then ate supper. I think I will really enjoy Cliffie. She is invited for Thanksgiving at my son’s who has the similarly colored beagle rescue.
I went out in the backyard with her. No accidents. Sleeps right next to me—like a beagle pile.
Glad it’s not summer. (just what we expected since she slept with the kids lol)

Cliffie did better than expected with all the people (9) and dogs (4). It was a pretty day and she played in the backyard. This is the rescue from the triangle, Hazel. Hazel’s coat has a bit more tan than Cliffie’s—but quite close.
I didn’t want to overwhelm her, so she was just there an hour or so, mainly running in the backyard, then I took her back at left her at home. And returned to festivities.
"Cliffie"" seems to be settling in, and having a good time taking over Katherine's grandsons chair
when he's not visiting lol...

we loved getting a good report that she handled meeting lots of new faces at the get together and even 4 doggies she didnt know before that...
we are so thrilled it all worked out so well for her being adopted locally to a returning adoptee we love working with once again so she has a good new companion to enjoy doing things with.

everyone loves her expressive eyes , they aren't the dark brown of a tri colored beagle but rather a lighter tan/orange with a hint of blue or green :)
she is a young female orange almost Red beagle. DOB: 12/03/2021
she was a wonderful 1st time mom
she had 4 cuties for us, and was a great natural easy birth Mother, and helped feed the younger pups by Paisley , she would go sit in front of their area when Paisley was out taking a break and let Miss C. hold her on her lap and feed the tiniest ones so they could keep up with the others staying full around the clock.
the owners of Teddy the sire of Cliffie's litter came out to visit several times and often seemed as excited and happy to see her as the puppies lol... she is so friendly and happy to see them . this visit they brought the grandparents to meet her and see Teddys puppies she had
and she did make some super cute puppies for us with their chocolate male on their first litter ...
Moose and Fraggle just went in on their own to their open crate when they wanted a break from playing...
so sweet

we trust her around here off leash , because she grew up here and wants to come in , but we will be looking for a good home with a fenced in yard for her like she is normally in here ... we could let her out to stretch her legs when she had puppies and needed a break lol.. though.
but wouldnt expect her not to wander from a new place if unfenced
we were looking to find a local home with a fenced in yard for her, and one of our returning customers reached out to let us know she was now a widow and had lost her beagle she adopted years ago from us and would love another adult retiring mom like Cliffie !
she has found her owner after having had one litter for us in NC.
